  1. The Copland Road has a post saying something like 'we're not saying Ahmed is gone..but he definately is'.

Still CRO and TRS refuse to offer any proof of what they are claiming about Imran Ahmed. To be honest their arrogance during this whole thing has been shocking.

If they are to be believed then they found out about Ahmed and informed the club. That means that the info wasn't leaked to them from Rangers and the Daily Record and Scotsman articles were basically because of The Ranger Standard.

So even if TRS and CRO are telling the truth they've basically traded on the clubs name and reputation for their own gain and to raise their own profile.

We've got no idea if any of this is true or not because the club is unlikely to issue a statement on it.

TRS and CRO however will use his departue as vindication that they were telling the truth but haven't the papers been telling us for weeks Ahmed's been for the boot because him and Greens relationship and all the Whyte claims?

So Ahmed leaving is no sign of truth in the story for me.

TRS and CRO have been good reads but when they start releasing damaging claims like tabloid rags that further damage the reputation of Rangers then they've crossed a line in my opinion.

I can't help but notice the average article on TRS gets 3000-4000 hits but the Ahmed one's got over 40,000.

Could they not have informed the club then allowed them to deal with it internally?

  2. Yes, which I totally believe and they would definitely want to say if the story was true, as they would need to distance themselves from it completely. If the story is false, they wouldn't have to do that. (It may be that they aren't sure and are just being careful)

I think the RM admins would be fairly worried their user base would think that they'd just hand over their details like that.

    Appropriate name though! Legalbeagle!

  3. I don't know if I trust this "source" inside Harper MacLeod however the blog does make a good point, no sooner had a CVA been rejected and the SPL were coming out with their "case to answer" pish. SPL right now are in the shitter, they can't disclose their tv deal because it would probably send the league spiralling into chaos. Why in the middle of all this are they setting investigations and hiring Cpt. Nimmo to go after Rangers? Just so they can try and humiliate us and strip titles? Fat lot of good that will do when they go bust.

Sadly this sounds like exactly the sort of thing the SPL would do and the figure mentioned isn't so outrageous when you consider they'd be going afte 10 years worth of prize money.

  4. To be honest it can only be a good thing that this is being picked up, especially by the BBC, it puts more scrutiny on these fuckers than they'd like.

Personally I think it will end up being a half way house with us being technically in breach of the rules but not maliciously so and end up with a fine or something. The taigs will be outraged and have yet another thing to harp on about and the matter can finally be settled.

  5. I'm very happy with Charles Green, I was skeptical at first and who could blame me, but he's going a long way to restoring my faith in the new owners.

After we get our license and a bit of water goes under the bridge I can see Charles Green and co go gunning for those who made this process all the more difficult.

I wouldn't even see it being out of the question that he ends up leading a formation of a new league when the SPL evitably go bust.

  6. Got to hand it to Green, he's actually handled all this well. I had expected capitulation and for us to get shafted but it seems he's been in there hammer and tongs battering out a deal and not letting the SPL have all their own way.

SFA have granted us conditional license but I doubt they would revoke it, SFL teams would go mental. SFL need to hold an AGM and get rid of Rhegan.

  7. After reading an article on the main site by 'the Big Chap'

Sorry I can't get the link cause I'm on my phone.

Basically calling for massive reductions of so called professional football clubs, and clubs dependant on old firm revenue.

I, like many others, completely agree that Scotland needs a massive reform. I find it astonishing that fans from clubs like Inverness etc can despise Rangers so much that they would risk their clubs EXISTANCE in the name of 'sporting integrity'.

Rangers will always survive. Most other however won't.

So why could this be the best thing to happen to Scottish football?

If for example both Dundee and Dundee utd enter administration next year (not unimaginable considering their finances) investors should buy both clubs, sell both grounds to property/commercial developers. And build a new Dundee City stadium.

Apply to the SFA for both licences and histories and combine the clubs.

You may be thinking why the hell would Dundee fans and utd fans suddenly accept to be one?

HATRED of others! It brings people together! If both are on the verge of disappearing forever, and aslong as the stadium and shirts combine both aspects of their clubs it may work.

    Inverness county!

    Hearts of Hibernian!

Hard to imagine, however in the word of Keanu Reeves: "it's only at the precipice do we evolve".

The SPL is close to Armageddon. This might become a reality sooner rather than later.

So in 3 years time I hope to be screaming a barrage of abuse at 3 clubs for the price of 1.

    Goodnight

    FTP :uk:

I've said for years scottish football is 2 fragmented along religious grounds. The clubs you mention would probably need to die off completely and the new clubs would inherit the more moderate fans and build from there.

Let's face it, scumdee and scumdee united, hivs and hearts, basically just Rangers and Septic lite but without the fans.

  8. I can't see these talks lasting this long if Green and co was happy to just roll over for the SPL/SFA. I think they must be taking a hard line or else we'd have our license by now.

I've read a few of those threads about taking a year old, tbh if Rangers aren't playing next season the entire scottish game will probably be bankrupt in 6 months. Rangers could then be part of the reconstruction effort to form a completely new FA and league setup. Something to bear in mind.

  9. jeez, it's not about the EBT's, it's about the dual contracts you dimwit

Ha Dimwit! The SFA and SPL will open themselves to millions of pounds worth of compensation from european teams because they insist in stripping us of titles.

    Yes I'm the dimwit.

  10. I know this was meant with good intentions, but if they get hold of this...

Then I'd hope they'd shit themselves. Green isn't going to take any responsibility for the oldco so I wouldn't worry about that. Bears on here have already said "What about all the coefficient points we earned during the period". This is the same thing essentially.

If this breaks the media, the SFA and SPL will have no option but to back down on Rangers titles.

  11. You think the SPL would hold themselves liable for that and not go after Rangers?

I think you are missing the point on EBT's being mentioned in the accounts.

Any wrong doing directed towards the oldco would be pointless as it will be liquidated very soon.

If you are one of the teams mentioned above who do you go after? The shell of the oldco who couldn't even pay you if you did win or the SFA? When you sue someone you go for the someone with the most money.

Another aspect we are forgetting is that I doubt uefa will be non too chuffed that an ineligable team took part in their tournament for the past 10 years. They'd be as likely to ban all scottish clubs from europe like they did with the English clubs.

If we want to save Rangers titles this is how we do it. The SFA and SPL won't leave themselves open to this sort of shit storm.

  12. No, if your logic was correct then it would be the SFA liable for damages because they are the 1's who approve their Member Club's participation in Europe.

However, if it turns out our previous regime's acted negligently or fraudulently in their running of the Club which in turn lead to dual contracts being in place, the only people responsible are the Club and we are the 1's who could be sued for damages.

So if the NHS come out tomorrow and announce they've struck off a doctor because actually he never had a medical degree but no one bothered to check and he's been practicing medicine for the past ten years. Who do you sue, the doctor or the NHS?

The Rangers EBT money was announced in their annual report every year without fail. The SPL/SFA have a weight of responsibility to administer their own rules.

  13. Is it just me or are you suggesting that the money we made from Europe should be repaid by the SFA. How the f*** does that work? stop making bullets for other people o fire.

The SPL are responsible for administering its own rules. If they strip us of our titles it means the allowed an ineligable club to play in europe for the past 10 seasons. Look at last years debacle with Sion.

  14. Have you been smoking crack?

Only a little, it was very moorish.

Do you not think the SPL would be liable for damages? They are the ones who sign the bit of paper every season to say who will represent them in european competition, the buck stops with them.

  15. ...if they try and strip our titles.

The SPL argument (as well know) goes like this. "You's shower a bastards at Rangers paid players through EBT's and didnt declare it to us and because of the evidence that the BBC (that no one has seen or been published) showed us the players you registered with us were technically ineligable so we are going to nullify all the games you played with them in the team and strip you of the titles that you won under false pretenses".

However because of the games Rangers won with these players they either won or finished 2nd (barring one hiccup) they were allowed to compete, signed off by the SPL no less, in european competition. So doing a little investigation of my own I decided to see just how much the SPL would be liable for just Champions League games on their own.

    2001/2002

    2nd Qualifying Round:

    Maribor 0 - 3 Rangers

    Rangers 3 - 1 Maribor

Rangers who according to the SPL had a team full of ineligable players knocked Maribor out of the CL in the 2nd round qualifiers, denying them the chance of competing for the group stage. Loss of earning for Maribor I'd reckon at least 1-2 million.

    2003/2004

    3rd Qualifying Round:

    Rangers 1 - 1 Kobenhavn

    Kobenhavn 1 - 2 Rangers

Group Stages (not a good year for us)

    Rangers 2 - 1 Stuttgart

    Panithanikos 1 - 1 Ranges

Rangers knocked Copenhagen out of the CL in the 3rd round, denying the chance at 15 million pounds worth of earnings from the CL group stages. We beat Stuttgart, that's £750,000 right there. We drew with Panithinikos so they receieved £500,000 instead of £750,000 for a win.

So in total between £15-25 million.

    2005/2006

    3rd Qualifying Round:

    Anorthosis 1 - 2 Rangers

    Rangers 2 - Anorthosis 0

    Group Stages:

    Rangers 3 - 2 Porto

    Rangers 0 - 0 Petzralka

    Petzralka 2 - 2 Rangers

    Porto 1 - 1 Rangers

    Rangers 1 - 1 Inter

    (Rangers qualify for last 16)

So again Anorthosis lose out on a 15 million pound jackpot. Our results against Porto and Petzralka both deny them of winning money plus we denied them the chance of going through to the last 16. So in total I'd reckon all in around 25-30 million pounds.

    2007/2008

    2nd Round

    Rangers 2 - 0 Zeta

    Zeta 0 - 1 Rangers

    3rd Round

    Rangers 1 - 0 Crvena Zvezda

    Crvena Zvezda 0 - 0 Crvena Zvezda

    Group Stages:

    Rangers 2 - 1 Stuttgart

    Lyon 0 - 3 Rangers

    Rangers 0 - 0 Barca

So we denied both Zeta and Crvena Zvezda the opportunity at reaching the group stages. 1.5 million for our wins against Stuttgart and Lyon.

    Total 15-25 million.

    2009/2010

    Group Stages:

    Stuttgart 1 - 1 Rangers

    Unirea Urziceni 1 - 1 Rangers

On this occasion we potentially denied Unirea Urziceni 2nd place in the group.

    Total 1-3 million.

    2010/2011

    Manu U 0 - 0 Rangers

    Rangers 1 - 0 Buraspor

    Rangers 1 - 0 Valencia

    Buraspor 1 - 1 Rangers

On this occasion prize money. Total maybe 1-2 million.

So if Rangers were ineligable to play, and the buck stops with the SPL on this, they hold the responibility of signing off on what teams enter europe. Then in compensation to all the teams we played you'd be looking at between £75-100 million pounds.

This is just Champions League not even the uefa/europa league that we also took part in and how many teams did we deny the chance at 3rd place to parachute into the Uefa/Europa league? Not to mention our amazing cup run when we reached the final.

Another bear on here told me to "man up and fight tooth and nail" to retain our history. Well if the SPL/SFA try to take our titles I will be writing to every team and the league they are in telling them to file against the SPL for compensation because according to the SPL we had no right being there in the first place.

  16. I think the SFL need to rise up, SPL are trying to blackmail them too. Let's face it the SFL could make 2 million from Rangers easy so could tell SFA and SPL to go fuck themselves.

I don't really understand how all this works scottish football really is a joke. The SFL have voted to let us in but we need a membership from the SFA who won't grant us a licence because of the SPL.

Fucking joke. Cue the speech from trainspotting 'Its shite being scottish!...'
