  1. Al Capone, no need for insults, I am only offering my opinion?
  2. I previously posted a note calling into question the loyalty or lack of it, by the current Rangers squad and given the news of Rhys McCabe my worries are begining to come to the surface. I fully understand that throughout this saga the players have been kept in the dark as much as the supporters, I also understand that they, like us mere mortals need to look after themselves and their families (poor souls who stuggle to survive on a weekly wage many of us have as an annual salary) but I wonder: 1. How can ex players, Celik and Wylde (and now McCabe, wait for the rest), be positively lauded for taking the first opportunity to jump ship? 2. Why, to date, are McCulloch, McCabe and Perry the only players to pledge their future to Rangers regardless of league status, now even McCabe has changed his mind? 3. Given the opportunity to transfer their contacts to "The Rangers" at their full salary and benefits, if they are "so loyal" and "Rangers men" why have they not confirmed their acceptance? 4. Players were hero's, it seems, when they agreed to take between a 25% and 75% pay cut for a 2-4 month period. This helped short term but players being players they could not resist having the leave cheap/for next to nothing clauses entered into their contracts as a bonus..... true loyalty???? 5. It seems that a large number plan to take the opportunity to leave the club for new, no doubt better paid options! Are we asking so much when they are undoubtedly asked to play one season in Division One on their current salary before being back to normal in SPL, hardly a career/bank account killer? I see all who decide to jump ship as traitors of the lowest order (forget the "Good luck Rhys" politically correct bull) although perhaps cleansing the club of these two-faced badge kissers will be good in the long term although it doesn't feel like it this morning. Now lets see who is in the "true bears" camp
  3. Absolutely correct! Buy your season ticket for Rangers, not Green, Smith, Murray, Whyte or whomever else will own us over the next few years. There is a lot of bullshit spoken about waiting to see which league / I dont want greedy people to get my money.....grow up, the money goes to pay the bills/bank/debt/wages (Whyte apart) etc no matter who is in charge! Every non-Rangers fan is waiting to see our club crumble and saying anything other than "I support Rangers whatever" is feeding their joy....are we not supposed to Follow Follow? Dont give them more ammunition, don't be a glory hunter....support Rangers for ever and through everything!!
  4. Sorry, I was taking about taking on the chin the punishment for administration etc
  5. Now that it seems that Charles Green and his team have a clear road ahead, they have some fairly major decisions to make: 1. Are we going to bend over and take everything that our SPL and SFA friends wish to throw at us? 2. Which sanctions is he willing to accept? 3. Is he willing to listen to the majority of the Rangers fans? Given the answer is yes to number 3, he should: 1. Clarify with all the authorities that New Rangers are a different company to Old Rangers and will not accept any unfair sanctions! 2. Immediately withdraw the application for the SPL! 3. Apply for admission to SFL Division 3! This will in turn: 1. Have the future of Rangers in our own hands, sanction free! 2. Allow us to invest in youth, employ players on sensible contracts and sign new and better as we need them to climb leagues 3. Spoil the Rangers haters who are currently rubbing their hands together at their new found "power" 4. Expose those SPL clubs and see a number of them going to the wall 5. Accept responsibility for the wrong doings done in the clubs name 6. Give Rangers fans the opportunity to come together as a loyal fan base and support our club in healthy numbers proving we are the best to all who mock!
  6. I may be a number of things but naive is not one of them. Charles Green has said since day on that he was not a "Rangers man", was not doing it for the love, would not be here long term but would buy fix and leave with a profit (seems to be pretty honest and straight forward to me). Honest and straight forward, would that not have been good if practised by Murray and Whyte not to mention McColl (why not save the club a week ago) Park (a whore who throws hit hat, not money, into anyones ring). The only "lie" I can see by Green was about the investor who came out and said he wasn't, unless you know otherwise?
  7. You are 100% right, I was offering as best the business arguement as I saw it, you and I cannot help but have an emotion slant on things and thats why I would be open to Walter or anyone else helping. I have nothing for/against Charles Green but he saved our club, nobody else did and I am frustrated about the groundswell for marches against the man who saved us. From day one he said he and his investors wouldnt be long term and would take a handsome profit, if we are in good shape with no debt when he hands over then I think he is due some credit and his profit. You are also right in saying that there is more pain ahead with a seemingly insatiable thirst for blood from our SFA and SPL "friends" hence the reason why I posted a note on my thoughts about taking the power away from them!! Hopefully Smith etc can join forces in the short term, perhaps taking over when things are back to normal and Charles Green is happy to move on having been our real saviour!!
  8. All parties have been quoting investors, some named, some not and you have no facts to confirm or deny anyone (incidently Green is the only one who has come forward with money)! In business, there are business angels (people like Charles Green) who look for/continue to look for investors, again you have no knowledge of the number or the amounts so why so sure he is better or worse than others? For his full term at the helm, David Murray said that despite a childhood love of Ayr United, Rangers were his team, this retoric then led to being "the man" and one who would protect the club from outsiders?
  9. To respond: Haven't we learned anything over the last 12 months? Hopefully we have: 1. We dont need Rangers men in charge 2. Experience tells us their ego (not to mention questionable ethics) equals bad business 3. In business, think business! He doesn't have a pot to piss in. 1. Only Green has a pot and contents, Smith and others have yet to come up with either How is he going to fund the running of the club? 1. Investors money, season ticket money, TV money, sponsorship, league and cup revenue, gate money, share issue, transfer sales, shall I keep going? (I assume same as any other Group)
  10. And what facts do you know that would confirm Green as a chancer?
  11. I can understand the emotion involved from both parties and without knowing the details of their business plans it is difficult to make an accurate assessment, for now here is some points worth thinking about: Green 1. Stepped up with money to purchase the club when others including Smith's team and Blue Knights et al were nowhere to be seen. i.e. in business, Rangers do not need to be run by a "Rangers man", experience shows it would be better if they were not (Messrs Murray & Whyte) 2. Smith group now want to be involved now that Green has taken the flak and the debt is clear? 3. Although all details of plan have not been published (normal business practise and why should he given that Scottish press and idiots like RST jump on every detail) he has declared that he will "do a Fergus" (save Rangers, manage professionally, build us up to former glory and leave with a good profit) again normal business practise and club survive and prosper Smith 1. I read posts and opinions that view Smith as some sort of a God, may I clarify that this gentleman was "close" to Murray during a number of the "bad years", in addition, have Rangers not made Smith a millionaire for his services? 2. During Smith's tenure, we consistently lost out on players because we tried to offer insultingly low figures (offer 200k for a £1m player), now he offers Greens team 6m (given that they have already spent between 7m-10m). They then overpay for players and agents for a last minute deal, does that sound like someone with business acumen? (I appreciate that others will run their newco) 3. If ego and making some money is not on Smith group agenda's then why not join forces with Green's team and make the club increadibly strong?
  12. So, we now find ourselves at the mercy of our SPL friends who will decide whether The Rangers are "allowed" to play in the SPL, I have a few thoughts to share and look forward to seeing your's SPL If we gain enough support to be readmitted to the SPL, our fellow clubs will undoubtedly look to add further punishments that may quench their thirst to bring Rangers to their knees, point deductions, further fines, some sort of limitation on transfers are the only ones they have thought of so far (still time yet for more). Given the levels of basic jealousy/distain/hatred that we have had to endure(and will have to continue to endure), do we have the apetite to kneel before them? If we fail to gain enough support we have to endure further embarrassment and have to go "cap in hand" to the only other option, SFL. Our current SPL friends are struggling to come to terms with their internal fighting of blood lust v fiscal suicide, so who know which devil will win that one? SFL There is a significant groundswell within the Ibrox support (myself included) that suggests the honourable and correct measure would be to immediately withdraw our SPL application and submit a new application for SFL Division 3. This option offers a number of immediate opportunities: a. This takes our future out of the hands of our SPL friends back into our own hands b. We have been punished for going into administration but should accept that further punishment will be forthcoming for going into administration c. SPL will immediately lose the SKY deal and many of the team will struggle to survive (especially if Rangers absence is for a minimum of 3 years), perhaps placing Messrs Petrie, Thomson etc in situations where they need to balace "sporting integrity" against their failing businesses d. SFL will benefit from a smaller TV deal and a Rangers presence that will secure many clubs for future years e. Rangers can slim down costs, build up youth ranks, put our house in order and have the opportunity to build a fiscally secure and responsible business that can enjoy signing better players to assist the youth as we climb the leagues. (57 titles, oh no Celtic?) SFL (SKY TV suggestion) Sky have suggested that they would be willing to continue with the current TV deal if Rangers can be admitted into Division One (missing us for only one year). This deal is particularly unpalatable as it allows our SPL friends to enjoy our relegation whilst they keep their much needed TV money. I urge Messrs Green/Smith/ANO to start to restore our pride by taking responsibility for the damage caused (in our name), take control of our own future and build a long term business plan that ensures fiscal control, professional management and have us back in Europe as Champions!
  13. We are all painfully aware of the constant and varied coverage of the "Rangers saga", one aspect that has not received much/any coverage yet is the loyalty/future of the Rangers players. I fully understand that throughout this saga the players have been kept in the dark as much as the supporters, I also understand that they, like us mere mortals need to look after themselves and their families but I wonder: 1. How can ex players, Celik and Wylde, be positively lauded for taking the first opportunity to jump ship? 2. Why, to date, are McCabe and Perry the only two players to pledge their future to Rangers regardless of league status etc? 3. Given the opportunity to transfer their contacts to "The Rangers" at their full salary and benefits, if they are so loyal and "Rangers men" why have they not confirmed their acceptance? I would love our current squad of players, regardless of my opinion of their ability, to prove their true loyalty and accept their already substantial salaries and stand beside the manager as we progress under Green/Smith/ANO. Thoughts?
  14. Hello fellow Rangers fans, just a quick note to introduce myself!!!
