Any clues on who and when it will be announced, if can't that's fine
No mate. I heard 2 weeks ago from inside the club and also from a friend of the guy appointed to confirm.
-
This appointment will simply never happen, certainly not as an external appointment (maybe Sandy Easdale could take on the role?)
I'd be willing to eat my own cock if i'm wrong, but I won't be.
Get cooking mate. I have been told the deal has been done. Announcement expected soon.
-
Fancy a friendly bet for charity? Lets say a tenner to either the sponsors fund or The Erskine Appeal.
I say there will be someone in that role by the first kick of the new season ( in the league)
I'll say they will be in place before then....but then I have heard the appointment has been filled a;ready.

Can you change the title of this thread? The review is out tomorrow and this is being put out all over twitter etc. confusing everyone
Thanks

Cheers Ian, Good luck with everything bud it is something I will be willing to get involved if and when required as I agree 100% that this should be about the fans.
cheers mate. Go sign up on www.rangersfirst.org to be kept in touch. the minutes are there from the first 3 meetings.
We are hoping to have a formal launch in the next couple of weeks or so.
p.s. I hope admin don't mind me posting a link.

Lang2911. Thanks for the clarification. Sorry about that word as I know it has unfortunate connotations, What you have outlined, and I know it is a brief outline, is certainly something I would be interested in supporting but it would need to be clear that the maximum shareholding could not be exceeded. As to fan ownership, have you read some of the threads re Dave King? It has got so bad that I am not even opening them now.
Rangers, my team not my project.
I know mate. I have my own thoughts on timing of the latest announcements.
The Ordinary fans need to stand up and stand together to protect the club, no matter who is in the board room. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee the future of the club.
-
All those running it need to be employed professionals and not fans.
That centred around a fans co-op as the membership body. a CIC is a co-operative and I was asked if the 2 fit, I think it fits really well.
HOWEVER!! That is only one example of how fans membership fees can be used to support the future of the club and it will be down to the members to decide on how the money is used.
-
Thanks lang2911. Coming from you that means a lot. I would still like to know details of your original scheme proposed by you to the club. As I have said before, you are in my mind a true Rangers supporter and I would hate to think of all your work going to waste. Also, I would trust you more than messrs. King , Atkinson and Easdale.
Rangers, my team not my project.
Thanks Corky
did you see my thread from a while ago regarding 26% max shares and fans buying and funding Auchenhowie and Scouting, any excess used else where in the club as needed and as Fans vote on?
-
I don't see how you can recuoncuile the two points of view. I thought that DKsaid that he wanted to be the leader and Rangers First said that the leader would be democratically elected. I may be wrong and, if I am, will willingly acknowledge that. The point I am trying to make is that, what happens if DK's investment is conditional on him being the leader? Kind of blows OMOV out of the water.
Rangers, my team not my project.
I whole heartedly agree with you Corky.

Ian sorry bud if you have been asked before I know this thread has many pages, but have you had any contact with anyone who supports King and his plans,?I mean connected to King directly bud..
Not directly mate. I do think, no confirmation yet, that he has been informed of what is going on. Nothing more than that though.
-
The CIC as proposed at Rangers First is the perfect vehicle to accommodate Dave Kings ideas, however I do not support any boycott and would much prefer it if things could be achieved in a constructive rather than destructive way.
-
Ricksen all the way for me.
-
RangersFirst for me.
Rangers fan ownership would be like the mugs that took part in stealing stuff out shops during the London riots. Everyone trying to better than him next tae ye.
hopefully that is not how it will be. Long term plan needed to show how it will work. for all sides.
-
I don't think it is fare to accuse anyone of anything to be honest. there has been so much shit thrown around that we don't know whether we are coming or going,
All I will ask for is monitor the website at www.rangersfirst.org and make your own mind up.
-
thanks for the answers ian.
best of luck with your endeavors, personally its not for me then, but i wish you well and every success.
WATP
All I will ask is that you keep an open mind an see what is decided once the working parties are finished. Then things will start to become clearer.

Beware of strangers bearing gifts!
I think we all are nowadays
-
ignore it Ian i am afraid thick skin will be your biggest ally. What is the plan with the other groups already in existence?
To work with them, there are other groups that exist for their own reasons but the CIC as a structure can work with them. That's what we all want.
However it will be down to those groups to decide if they want to support RangersFirst.
-
A group of 60 - 80. Wow that's even less than RST. And yes, I would put nothing past Lawwell. Why on earth would a non-football person be so concerned about Rangers?
How are comments like this going to help?
-
Let me get this right.
You are saying that Alex Salmond and peter lawwell have hatched a plan with Richard Atkinson to fund an organisation, supporters direct Scotland, with the plan to derail Graham Wallace and destroy Rangers?
They are doing this by helping a group of 60 - 80 Rangers fans promote the creation a world wide membership scheme, via the CIC, where the funds are used to by a small percentage of the club and, maybe, fund youth development and a new scouting network. With any excess funds being used to support other fan/club initiatives.
Wow, I wish I had thought of that they are fucking geniuses.
-
Are representatives of the club involved?
Not yet but I would hope as things start to build then they would be. This absolutely not a them and us thing, collaboration is needed for this to work IMO
-
-
Why have we not heard anything yet then? And I would still like to know what transpired between rea and Lawwell.
Don't know anything about Lawell
Next meeting has been scheduled for this week and you will hear more after that.
Kits on kit?

Bottom 2 leagues require shirts numbered in sequence no matter who wears the shirt. Top 2 leagues allow numbers to be allocated to individual players.
