I had a wee tip on Poyet - managed to get odds of 25/1. They dropped as low as 3/1 a week or so ago but have drifted severely after the jobby-gate scandal at Brighton.
I would prefer Weir not to get the Everton job - keep him within our price bracket for the near future. Reckon he is made to manage Rangers......

I still reckon Stevie May would be a useful addition. Young, scores goals, cracking hair. What more can you want!!

Has anyone at the SFA actually looked that closely at the business dealings or past of Lawwell? Thought not. Would they discover he is linked to Regan? And what about Dermott Desmond? Is he clean? Doubt it.
I have no doubt in my mind that close examination of leading figures in 42 clubs in Scotland would unearth a few skeletons. But close examination only seems to be the order fo the day for one club.
-
I genuinely haven't seen him kick a ball at all. Haven't watched one second of SPHell football this season.
I'm with you on that. Only Scottish match I have watched all season that hasn't involved Rangers was the Alloa v Dunfermline match on Alba the other night and only because the Wasps are my home town team. The next top tier Scottish match I watch will be our next one there.

We shouldn't be surprised, but it seems from the reaction from the Motherwell support (and probably timmys with specially adapted keyboards) to this guy speaking to us confirms that the blind hatred of the world's biggest club shows no sign of diminishing......

Fuck me. It's not about this boy being one of them. My point is that there is talent out there we should be looking at rather than the likes of daly. Get a grip
Fair point. Stevie May was discussed on here the other day!
Although, reckon we should give Daly a chance. We still need experience to go along with any younsters who may get a chance.

Just like Ian black wasn't either?
Point taken. But this wee shite was motivated by blind hatred of Rangers when he set out to lay the boot in.

Little bastard was guilty of a few robust/hoorendous tackles against us last season. He wouldn't be welcome at Ibrox.
-
Ally should be trying to persuade him to go for another couple of seasons back home at Ibrox where he belongs. He could certainly handle the hammer throwers of the 2nd division.......
And, throw in a coaching role. What could inspire the youngsters more than a European and World Cup winner who would bleed blue blood.

Aside from the mention of Th**cher, a good read.
If one good thing comes out of the recent events, the supporters of our great club have stood up and shown who the 'greatest fans in the world' really are..........and this is being noted beyond these parrochial shores.
-
Mighty Shire - if I am not mistaken, you can leave this season with the statistic that the 'Shire scored in every game against Rangers and scored more against us than any other team in the league!!
Here's hoping the good relationship built between the club and fans of our great clubs can last.

Was on loan at Alloa the season before last. Seemed score for them every week. I was disappointed when we didn't target him before the illegal embergo kicked in.

Aye...just spotted that previous thread. Glad the general consensus is positive.

Scotland U21 international - was part of a decent crop of players who came through the Falkirk youth system - still only 24, s a few good years ahead of him.
Almost an ever present for Huddersfield over the last few years but has just been released.
This is the type of player we should be looking at in my opinion.

Jamaica
Marcus Gayle was Jamaican. Although it is questionable whether or not he actually played with us........
-
At the end of the day, this is a swift reply and East Stirlingshire - who appear to me to be a decent community club who have treated us well - cannot be held responsible for every bitter little oik in their teams. They can be responsible for dealing with them which it appears they are doing.

Don't get me wrong, when I made the original post I wasn't advocating that celtic should have assisted us financially. It was our mess and our place to get out of it. But we should have been allowed to get on with sorting it out rather than having hinderances and blocks put in our way in attempt to kill us off completely.
If the boot was on the other foot I would not want Rangers to help Celtic but I would not want Rangers as a club to actively set out to harm them. We are above that kind of shit.

Quote from the BBC website regarding Dunfermline's current 'issues':
After addressing fans at the packed meeting on Monday night, he told BBC Scotland: "The gesture from Raith Rovers for Saturday is that, for every supporter over 2,000 in the Dunfermline away end, they will donate that money to Dunfermline Athletic Football Club."
A statement on the Stark's Park club's website said: "Dunfermline Athletic are, and hopefully always will be, our fiercest sporting rivals…. but they are also our friends, and we would like to offer our friends a helping hand in their hour of need."
WHERE WERE OUR GREATEST RIVALS WHEN WE WERE DOWN?? HAVING A GOOD FUCKING KICK, THAT'S WHERE. In the name of sporting integrity of course.
The only friends we had willing to help were Linfield.
Celtic should be ashamed of their actions and them (along with the rest of the SPL - although they were the worst) have been shown up by this gesture by Raith Rovers.

I think domination for the next 8 years is a big ask for the unwashed green and greys.
1 - The quality of their squad will reduce over the next couple of years and they'll struggle to afford to replace them with reduced revenues
2 - Remember they were on their knees in 1995 (they seem to have airbrushed that out of their history). They were back challenging within a couple of years of that. Ok, we have the added issue of a couple of years out of the top division, but after1-2 years back in the top league we'll be champions again. I make that no more than 5 or 6 in a row for them.
3- Who's to say a team outwith Celtic can't win the league? It's not like Celtic are winning every week? (A bit ambitious I know)
And worst case scenario, 9or 10 tainted titles in a row are completely meaningless without us!

SDM should have just sold the entire first-team and used the money to pay off Lloyds. We would have been debt free, money in the bank.
We could easily have raised that money. Sell Bougherra, Jelavic, McGregor, Davis, Naismith, Edu, etc. Promote a bunch of youth players. We wouldn't have won anything for a few years but it would have been the right thing to do long-term.
That is a fair point in hindsight. BUT the fans - myself included - would have gone off the deep end at that approach. And the thought of not competing/winning the league would have been unacceptable. This is only now an acceptable approach given what has happened over the last 12 months and where we are now. Christ, we hammered Murray whenever we sold one star player i.e. Boumsong, Hutton etc.

One side of me reckons it would be good to be fast-tracked to the SPL........bigger games, commercial and financial gain for the club etc.
But lets be honest - they only want us back because they are dying a slow, painful and lonely death. They don't really want us back and being fast-tracked will be used as a stick to beat us going forwards!
So, we need to resist this and let the fuckers stew in their own self-inflicted shit...........

This must further discredit the BBC 'documentary'. If it is possible to discredit it further. Will the BBC issue an apology?
