Police are investigating after the Rangers team bus was vandalised outside an Aberdeen hotel.

Graffiti referencing the Ibrox disaster and former player Ian Durrant was scratched into the paintwork of the coach in the early hours of Sunday.

The sides face each other in a league clash at Pittodrie later.

Officers said their inquiries were at an early stage and appealed for information.

Surprised the BBC released this info.

I presume the MSM will pick this up and print it, but has the record printed it in banner headlines in the paper?

Imagine if someone had been killed and they printed those lies ? Memories of the Sun and Hillsbourgh ?

Has the journo or editor been disciplined ? Doubt it

Minimum front page apology, all responsible on a written warning or P45 if already received one.

If not, one month ban for the Rhecord from Ibrox.

There's no other way to deal with this than to make it hurt them and think twice about repeating it - the "paper" and the individuals involved.

They hurt us, club and fans, publicly so right now they got away with it.

  3. It's very good of those teuchter chaps to acknowledge such a young and insignificant bunch as us. After all, we've only just reached the dizzy heights of the Premiership. Obviously we have no connection, having never played them before and we're not even local to them. I'm sure they didn't even do this for ICT and Ross County when they played them first, never mind distant clubs like us such as Livi.

Who knows what's going on in their heads, eh?:belm:

Aberdeen fans plan minute's applause 'to mark the arrival of Rangers to Pittodrie for the first time''

ABERDEEN fans are planning to applaud the 12th minute of their Premiership clash with Rangers on Sunday to mark the year the Ibrox club was liquidated.

The two sides will face off for the first time in four years at Pittodrie with only goal difference separating them in the table.

Posters have been put up around the city and on social media encouraging Dons fans to commemorate the 2012 'passing of the club formerly known as Rangers' with a 12th-minute ovation.

Aberdeen will host their visitors for the first time according to the poster, which is titled 'RIP Rangers 1872-2012.'

Dog handlers and mounted officers are expected to police Sunday's clash as tensions build ahead of the game.

Chief Superintendent Campbell Thomson warned: "My warning is clear – any form of anti-social behaviour whether it involves sectarianism, violence or disorder is completely unnecessary, completely unwanted and will not be tolerated.

“If you are intent on causing trouble whether it be within the stadium, in your city or town, your local pub, your home or even online, you will be caught.

“Don’t think because you haven’t been caught at the time you’ve got away with it – retrospective enquiries will also be carried out to identify those responsible for any crimes committed.”

An Aberdeen spokesman commented: “People will obviously be excited as they are passionate about football and it is up to us to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the matchday experience.

“We are sure they will and we look forward to Rangers return to Pittodrie, and anticipate a great day.”

Really? Do they think that if they keep repeating it then it'll suddenly become true?!

  5. Grey area between the two. Either could be given. Seen much worse done to us and occasionally a yellow given. I wouldn't expect a red given if one of ours was tackled like this but that's cos we're getting used to others getting away with it. The day our players are given proper protection, I will be surprised.

  6. Incidents of clear bias such as the OP's info need to be collected and produced when Bears are up in court accused with doing the equivalent (and often less) than what is being ignored and therefore condoned by the SMSM and their twitterati pals. Presenting this info by the bucketload could be used to "help" the judge interpret the law in the context of all sides and not just the one-way street we have now. Also it could be used in future parliamentary debate by any fair-minded politicians that we can only hope exist. For us all to let it go past us only tells them that they can get away with it more and more. It has already got to the critical stage where there are Bears in prison while that lot do worse and walk free.

I want to know what he gets out of this because it surely cannot be about money.

With the size of his bruised ego, he does not want MW to have success here too easily. If our present manager looks like he's doing well, Ally might worry that people could possibly see the previous manager as a bit of a failure...

Nearly every post I see from you is criticising the club in some way, rarely ever positive.  Excuse me whilst I wonder if you're a fan at all.

whether you wish to call it a tweet, statement, deflection or whatever, the fact remains the club said something on a subject that was previously taboo.  The effect it has had has been to raise broad, national and international public awareness and damaged their reputation...even just a little.  But it's more than ever before.  So what is it you really want?  I can only assume what you really want is something you can have a go at our board for.

I would argue that he is not attacking the club but several characters who are running the club at this current time within its long, long history. These characters are well on their way to becoming infamous for their silence in the face of sustained and increasingly brazen bias in Scotland against our club, which is not being defended properly by those who currently run it. So it's possible to say that thehost is actually writing in support of the club rather than against it. I don't agree on the whole with everything he writes all the time but he certainly has a point here.

Angry ramblings of someone who just sees conspiracy in everything! Your one of the people who sees what they want to see and not the reality. The type of person who doesn't see anything wrong in wrecking their toilets, who moans the press isn't fair despite most ( including the front page of the sun -ffs the sun- ) condemning them for their actions. The type of person who gets all offended about being called a H** while hurling abuse at them, me, the club, the team and the manager but greets like a wee'n when they don't get their own warped way.

In the context of this thread, he asked you several pertinent questions, which you evaded with a personal attack. Do you have an answer for the questions that you are willing to share?

  10. Good point but with their heavy loans needing paid off and the money disappearing into the old biscuit tin (dezzy's pockets), perhaps they won't be able to use it on improving their level of players at least. They didn't exactly invest heavily this year.

With that kind of money, just consider what we could do regarding the squad. That is as long as it's not King's 20m compensation fund from his time with Murray.

    Bring back internment?

EDIT: I've also just read your thoughts on our "pitch invasion" after the cup final. Have a word with yourself, ffs.

Em, have another read of my pitch invasion thoughts. Here it is...

'I agree, but that 'hardly' has given them a pitch invasion attacking "exuberant" fans and a smashing up of poor innocent toilets who only happened to be there.'

If you read the whole sentence, you'll see that I'm parodying what they say in order to put the blame on us.

What is wrong with me doing that?

If it helps, emphasise the 'has given them'.

I've read what you've written. It's hand-wringing, apologist nonsense. I have no time for wee tubes smashing up the bogs either but when I see shite like that on display inside a sports stadium then my concerns immediately turn to how and why it was allowed to happen. Not some rocket launching a sink in that shithole.

If that's how you interpret what I wrote then no, you didn't understand what I wrote. That's about as far a way from an apologia as you can get. If you read it, I am agreeing with you but looking for a solution to this problem beyond simply posting on a Rangers forum.

Who do you think controls what gets plastered across front and back pages in the press? On the BBC website? What gets picked up then by the international media from the national rags?

    What's your solution then?

We've hardly put a foot wrong for years, it doesn't change anything.

I agree that the situation is a disgrace but this is our reality right now. They control the press. It will take time for balanced decent people to infiltrate the media and work their way up the ladder. But that's what they did and look at where they are now and what they can do.
