Almost all of Ally McCoists statements are well thought out politics. His latest comment in todays Herald is typical " I wont be selling anybody but the club might sell somebody". He is treading a very dangerous path and is banking on keeping the support onside which ,he does very well. We have a lot to thank him for but I would prefer a united front on the essential cost cutting.

Like a number of players, he took a bit of time to settle,but when he did he was a treat to watch. As many have posted he was a joy on the pitch but a nightmare away from it. I always thought that he thought he was more important than the club and I can understand if some real true blues in the team at the time resented his attitude. Remember this was when some actualy did play for the jersey.( Shearer,Greig,Millar,Caldow and Wilson to name a few) He was never the same player 2nd time around,but his arrogance was still there. He was a great player but I dread to think what the present generation would think of his off field antics and the company he kept

The bloke was brilliant. A refreshing change. He got the home fans going and his operatic performance was great. Well done. Something we could learn from.

I was in Barcelona 72 and can honestly say this is the first time I have heard this view put forward. The way I saw it was that we were hanging on to a one goal lead with time running out. Remember at that time no boards telling you of added time were shown. During the closing minutes,every time the ref blew his whistle,our fans took it as full time. This happened on several occasions and they ran on to the pitch to celebrate. The police were not shy to use force to clear the pitch and naturaly this was matched by our fans. It resulted in a blood bath. I will always remember the scenes at the airport where planes to glasgow were being filled regardless of bookings or tickets. They could not get rid of us fast enough. On our flight home one fan had to sit with the pilot for take off as the plane was overcrowded. Think about that in todays world
