  1. Not in the next round. Happy to play them at Ibrox in the semis. We could win though it's not likely as we are not getting any hard games at the moment so in theory they should be better than us. It's got to happen sometime. There will need to be a massive police presence so maybe it would be better away from Ibrox so we are not paying for it.

When it does happen we will find out if they really think we are not Rangers. I'm pretty sure our fans will make it obvious that we are.

  2. Not too sure about this. We would all have happily accepted the Ramsdens final at Ibrox. Peter excluded himself from the vote on the Scottish Cup final allegedly after making it clear to the rest of the cabal that the Girodome would be an excellent choice and probably suggested that they give us the semi's to shut us up and then put the Ramsdens somewhere small to mess us about.

In summary, what do we care where the final is? We would just like it to be between 2 teams who are neutral to the venue.

  3. We will get closer to real football at least. We are still using the 'wait an hour till they get tired' tactic and we won't get away with that next year. I expect us to get out in our first attempt but it will be pretty hard. We will lose a fair number of the people who joined us in the Third div and should start to look like a team that can win the Scottish Cup by then.

  4. Easter Road is way too small but at least it holds fond memories for Rangers fans of a certain age. We drew there many many years ago to end a long drought and win the last of the old Scottish first division before the SPL started. John Greig came in to see the fans at Waverley station and thought better of it when we all rushed at him.

I assume Raith will get a big allocation and return what they don't sell? I will get my son-in-law who lives close to their ground to try for tickets & I will be there online assuming it's ST holders first.

  5. What about living within our means? We do not want to go through the same thing again so we need to limit spending and work our way back up. No one will be happy if we don't do well in our first year back but it's unlikely that we will win the league on our first attempt even if we bring in more new players. The current squad is capable of doing well in the Premiership or whatever they call it now.

  6. It's all down to running costs. I have a suspicion that the last home game was postponed not because Ally thought our squad could not easily beat Dunfermline but to save opening up the ground & paying all the costs.

Some of the club deck seats have great views so it's a shame when it's shut.

  7. The wage bill may seem silly for this level of football but the team being created this season will be the one to push us up the 'championship' next season back to our rightful place and when we get back to the top league we need a team that can compete. If we don't build that team now we won't be able to challenge for the top of the league & European football.

It does look like some money has been paid out that should have been avoided but the main thing is keeping the club afloat until we are back on top.

  8. I certainly looks like a fine collection.

I was clearing out the wardrobe the other day and as I was putting back all the T-shirts & stuff I realised that a lot of the space was taken up with Rangers tops & related stuff (scarves, a big flag etc). This made me wonder what people do with all those tops. If you buy one or two every year you end up with loads of them and they can't be thrown out due to their connection with the Gers.

The only old top I fancy is the 96/97 one with the vertical stripes at the sides.

  9. Sunderland due to a family connection (son in law spent years there though he is from Fife & grew up beside Raith's ground).

I have a shirt & a scarf and have attended a few games including one V Man U when I missed a superb Ronaldo free kick goal trying to get the Gers score on my phone. They are great people but you have to ignore the Oirish connection.

  10. I would not put them up in the club deck. Big possibility of coins etc coming down on the main stand from above.

Perhaps just the away corner with a bit added but it seems a real shame to punt ST holders elsewhere to accommodate them.

Anyway it's likely to be a long time until this happens unless we surprise ourselves in the Scottish cup & have a good run.
