  1. Was just wondering who we might be able to get on loan,,there's plant of players at the top teams who probably wont get games just yet,,,so could we get em on loan. 1.Emiliano INSUA, liverpool's young LB,,its a posn we coould do with cover in,,heard he was going to go to Newcastle earlier,,but that seems to have faded,,so why not ,,,heard he was impressive in their pre season games ,, any suggestions ?????????????
  2. OK Time to move on to those international players ,,not easy when trying to think of who would actually come to the SPL, and more so who would actually be within budget. However we have seen Walter spend in excess of 10mil kast season and probably more again this season albeit players have left. So here go's ,,tried to make a list of realistic (not just dream team) targets to have a closer look at. These will all be real players playing at the moment not just some list off footie manager,, lol 1. ARTEM KRAVETS, DYNAMO KIEV AGE, 18. Described on some Ukraine websites as the new Shevchenko,, He appeared regularly for the Dynamo Reserves and Dynamo-2 team, where he scored regularly,,, until he was noticed by Dynamo's new coach Yuriy Semin, who took him to the main team in the 2007-2008 season. He made his debut in the Champions League match against Porto (pictured),,he then went on to finish the season starting the last 10 games and scoring 3. Watch out for him in Champ Lg again this year. 2.Pereira RAFAEL CARIOCA / GREMIO AGE 19 MIDFIELDER Rafael has just turned 19 on June 18th , he currently plays for 1st placed Gremio in the Brazilian League. He has played in all but 2 of Gremio’s 20 games this season. He has played in RM, however his primary Posn is that of a DM. Although young, Rafael is a strong physical style of player who isn’t afraid of a tackle or two. He is also very composed on the ball, and always aware of what’s around him. His passing ability, especially at range is very impressive. There is a video of him available on YouTube although if you would like to see for yourselves ,,however my source is actually from someone who has seen him play in Brazil,,, ,, In some ways similar to a young Barry Ferguson. Although I haven’t heard of any clubs interested in him yet, it’s only a matter of time,, 3.RYAN SHAWCROSS / STOKE CITY AGE 20 CB For such a young age this lad has bags of experience,,,A CB who also scores goals. He started his career with Manchester United. Shawcross made 22 appearances for the Under 17s, in 2003-04, scoring against Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers. In 2004-05, Shawcross made 21 appearances for the Under 18s, scoring against Everton on 5 March 2005 On 25 October 2006, Ryan made his senior debut as a substitute in the League Cup 3rd Round encounter at Gresty Road, Crewe, coming on in extra-time in a 2-1 United win. In January 2007, he was sent on loan to Royal Antwerp FC, where he appeared regularly, and helped Antwerp to make it into the Belgium playoffs, scoring 3 goals himself, before returning to Manchester in the summer. On 9 August 2007, Shawcross was sent on loan again, this time to English Championship club Stoke City, for 6 months. He scored his first two goals for Stoke during his first two games, one on his debut during a 1–0 win on the opening day of the season, against Cardiff City. The other during a League Cup game against Rochdale in which Stoke lost on penalties. Stoke made advances to make Shawcross' loan permanent during the January 2008 transfer window, and the move was finally completed on 18 January 2008 In January 2008, Shawcross won his first call up to the England Under-21 squad for a 2009 UEFA Under-21 Championship Qualifying match against the Republic of Ireland,,,,One to watch this season,,pity he is in a poor team, and its doubtful they would want let him go in their first go at prem leage,,but if as expected they go back down then who knows 4. VIKTOR FAYZULIN /AM/WINGER,,,,, ZENIT AGE 22 Came into the Zenit side at start of the Russian season this year,, and kept his place. Played well in their uefa cup run ,scoring against Bayern in the semi final. He also played a large part in the final against our very own. He has also played regularly for the russian U21's ,,and was unfortunate to just miss out on the full Euro squad. He has just signed a new contract, so any move probably wouldnt be cheap,,but then neither are some of recent signings when you add them all up 5. MARCUS BERG FC GRONINGEN (HOLLAND) AGE 21 This lad had a really impressive first year in the eredivisse, playing 26 matches scoring 17 goals,, he narrowly missed out in the Swedish squad for the euro's . He also scored a plenty for his previous team IFK GOTEBORG Some 21 in 53 apps. Signed for Groningen for a mere 2.5 mil last season,,how much did we just spend on kenny miller again ???? Anyway thats all I got time for at the moment,, feel free to comment and add own suggestions ,,follow follow :unionflag: :bouncy: :unionflag:
  3. heard the work permit will be decided on Tuesday,,, but he has international caps,,and he is American (not same the home office are biased,, but they normally get em ok),, i knew it must have been wee Mo that told gers aboot him ,
  4. Marouane FELLAINI, 20 yr old CM plays forr them and is supposed to be good,,,,did he play???
  5. His wee brother Andreas is already with Madrid,,,(but remember Brian wasnt thought to be anywhere near his brother's skill at first ),,,,so that wont happen,,,I've never actually seen him play so cant really say if he is just hype or not. He still to really break through into Copenhagen first team,,although he has now been brought into the full squad,,, but if he has managed to get called up to the national side in all youth levels then he must possess some levels of skill I would have thought,,unless they're just going by his pedegree. However at least it has stirred some debate,,just the mention of the name LAUDRUP,, :bouncy:
  6. MADS LAUDRUP age 19 ,Club FC Copenhagen, Posn LCM/LAM Left footed This is the Nephew of you know who,,, Brian Laudrup. With all the talk on the forum at the moment of who we should buy from abroad for instant effect,,,maybe we should look at a possible longer term potential player to sign. Young laudrup here for those who are not aware of him has already played for all the youth levels of the Danish national team up to U19. He is described as a fast attacking midfielder,,, If we where to buy this lad and give him all the opportunitys that Murray park has to offer and the better coaching staff than Im sure we have compared to Copenhagen (do disrespect intended) then this may give him the best chance for him of developing into a class act. Then maybe this lad could become a future gem. Im sure with the close relationship that Brian still has with the club,,, that Walter and Ally are aware of him,, and I would hope that he has at least been scouted,,,but Im sure too it would be in his best interest to come to a club with the development facilities that gers can provide (and that would be in his dad and uncles interest too). The best part too is his current contract expires in june 2009,,,so if im correct that means at the end of this year he would be able to move here for FREE !!! So should we have a closer look at the next generation Laudrup?? who knows we could see another young Dane with the name LAUDRUP grace the Ibrox turf
  7. ok,,will start it off with a couple of names, as I have watched a bit of the Dutch League on Setanta, and I dont really think that their League is that much better than our own. Sure they produce countless talent , but usually when anyone gets a half decent rep thay move on abroad (huntlaar an exception so far). So what people think of any of these. 1. RYAN DONK AGE 22 CB, AZ ALKMAAR. I have watched this lad a few times and have yet to see him have a bad game. Big strong physical CB,, was rumoured to be attracting interest from Manchester Unt, last January,,however never materialised. 2. Sebastien POCOGNOLI AGE 21, LB/LM, AZ ALKMAAR. This lad moved to AZ from Anderlecht at the start of last season, and has now worked his way into the Belgium National Team. His main role is a LB, but as he likes to get forward can also play LM where he has been used more of late. 3. LEROY FER AGE 18 RB ,FAYENOORD. This youngster came into the team towards the backend of last season. At first most thought it was due to injurys in the first team. However he is held in high regard at Fayenoord as a long term prospect. Exactly the kind of youngster we used to go in for 4. ROLAND LAMAH AGE 20 AM/F RODA JC (on loan from ANDERLECHT),, Saw this lad play a few times last year and he impressed the most of anyone in there league i saw last season. On loan he made 32 starts for Roda and quickly became their top scorer with 11 goals, making him one of the stand out players in Eredivisse last year. He is strong for someone his age, the kind that likes to get the ball down to feet and run at defenders taking them on and normally always coming out with the ball. I saw him give the Ajax defence a torrent time in one match , and he scored a peach in that game as well. Has gone back to Anderlecht who I hear are keen to send him back out on loan again this year,,,as yet not been taken. 5. MICHAEL BRADLEY AGE 21 AM/DM HEERENVEEN ,,Almost forgot to add this lad to the list. I know another american,,, but this lad was awesome in Eredvisse lat year..playing 33 games and scoring 15 goals and being credit to 4 assists. He plays a DM for country, and AM for club which obviously suits him more from his goal count. Didnt have best game against England (but this was in the DM role)and as such interest seems to have dulled in him,,,,would be an awesome signing ,,?? Anyone know any more ??? :unionflag:
  8. We used to snap up up and comming stars from or playing in Holland. If we where going to go in for anyone now ,,who could we go for?? And would they come?? Any realsitic suggestions ?? :unionflag:
  9. I heard right at the begining of the transfer window that we where linked with the young RB/CB from Olyimpiacos. So too where Newcastle. That seemed to just drop off the Radar. Does anyone know if that is still being persued ?? Although it be tough now with the non euro action to convice him to come now. Ive seen him before and he is good, tears up and down the right side,,but can equally defend as well. Newcastle seemed to have dropped out of trying to sign him also.
  10. Edu will be a good signing,, young strong and has bags of potential,, he is a midfielder so i hope they dont try and get him to play in an unfamiliar role. As far as I know he has always played midfield for his club. And I just wonder how walter found out about him,,couldnt be anything to do with Mo Johnson being Director of football at FC Toronto ??? Him and Davis will probably be the last for midfield , and whats left has to be spent on a CB,, they'll probably go back in for Reynolds as he can play LB as well. Has anyone heard anymore on that lad Suchy?? or is that dead in the water??
  11. furman is South African i know,,,,but the point was the same,,just used him as an eg. as he is at the verge of getting the odd game for the first team at the moment,,but your right
  12. agree in part,, but i say you still have to keep a scottish element within the club by bringing through the likes of players like fleck, furman etc ,,and by buying the best youngsters around not only do you get the chance of discovering the next fergie or hutton,,you also weaken the competition,,and its cheaper too,
  13. these are only the scottish players,, as mentioned most of thses would be for future,,, not first team ,,there isnt many players in scotland (celtic excluded) that would go straight into first team,,, can u think of any ???
  14. supprised this hasnt got any replies ,,sounds fun,,and everyones always an expert,, i will add some scottish players ,and add other nationals tomorrow SCOTT ARFIELD / FALKIRK,,, promising youngster ran the celtic defence ragged in their last game against them last yr MARK REYNOLDS / MOTERWELL,, Good young Left footed CB who can also play LB DAVID CLARKSON / MOTHERWELL,,, his goal for Scotland and 14 goals last year says it all,,bags of potential STEVEN FLETCHER / HIBS ,,, 13 GOALS Last season, probably not move from Hibs yet,,just signed new contract not long ago LEWIS STEVENSON / HIBS,,LB/LM,,, Got a run in the team under John Collins and showed bags of potential in early part of last season,,,would be one for future , LEE WALLACE / HEARTS LB,, Another youngster that could prove good in future
  15. EDU would be a great signing for Gers,,,he is widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the MLS and a internationlist as well. He won rookie of the year last year, and is a big physical type for a young age..im sure he would adapt to the SPL
