  1. Got to agree. Utilising players to their strengths rather than forcing a style of play gets the best out of a player. Also motvation of players is another area where a manager has a big influence. Just look at Smith with Le Guen. Made a couple of key signings (Webster, Weir, Ehiogu) to plug any obvious weaknesses (ok so we spent £2m on Thomson in that window as well). We'll most likely never find out unless Warburton walks (doubt that will happen) or he gets poached by another club down south as the board won't spend any money sacking him.
  2. How was it unlucky. he either knows where the player is or not. Its not like a gust of wind pushed the player 3 yards back.
  3. Miller needs to play as a number 9. The midfield need to do more so that he doesn't have to drop deep or go wide
  4. Yeah, i know hindsight is 20/20 and all that. No telling what would have happened if MOH stayed on but what we do know is that Miller scored twice and two subs assisted. Still feel we were lucky as fuck in the end
  5. To be fair this has gone unnoticed. The cries were for Miller to come off not MOH, Waghorn assists off the bench, Hyndman with a delightful through ball assist off the bech and Windass giving more direct running in the middle. It's easy to slate poor decisions but you are right the substitutions appear to have worked here.
  6. He may have missed a couple but he's taken his goals superbly, way to go Kenny!
  7. Kiernan has no peripheral vision, it seems he only knows where the player is if he is staring at them meaning he can't track the ball. Moult nearly got aware from him again there
  8. cracking header but today is unacceptable regardless of the result
  9. Have held out for so long as I wanted it to work but got to agree
  10. surprised thomson didnt give a penalty against us there for the foul on halliday
  11. see that pass from Hill to McKay? Thats what we need more of rather than passing to the player next to you. Speeds the game up
  12. The same way a stonewall penalty right in front of you goes unnoticed
  13. not going to get any joy with two men marking our wide players
  14. night and day, look at motherwells break and dangerous cross with a striker in the box. Halliday does well breaking forward and no one is busting a gut to get into the box
  15. Think about Hill's first few games. He was slated but is by far our most dependable defender. I think if we can get a goal we'll have more space and see more of him then but thats a big IF
  16. usual story.....the lack of tempo is really worrying. Its played like a training exercise rather than a cup game
