I'm putting some of the decisions down to the limitations in the squad, him seeing which players he can rely upon, and the perma injured unreliables. There's always pressure on an old firm manager, a cup and a Europa League final couldn't save Gio but there are definite signs of improvement and optimism to be had once he is able to shape the team how he wants.

I said relative, but i would say dragging us from a 7 point deficite to leading the table, winning a cup and getting us to another cup final and qualifying from the Europa League group quantifies as a relative miracle considering the shambles Beale left.

It's a gamble starting Lawrence, as you never quite know which version of him turns up. If he plays well, gets stuck in and fires a few shots from range, we'll do ok. If the other version of him turns up, it'll slow the game right down for us and he'll offer very little. If he starts, I hope it's the former we see.

You would think the length of time he's been here and played them he would know they always try and start quickly. If that Maeda is playing, they'll stick him on Tav early doors and pressure him. Simple stuff but he has to wisen up sometimes that way.
