It's a market he knows, and probably believes he can identify players who can come in and hit the ground running. I don't think he'll go for many loans, but may see a few players from mid level championship clubs / league one coming in. I agree that we need to be spending our money wisely and my fear is that we'll free up a decent amount of wages with the out of contract players then fill the squad with average dross. Hopefully we've identified a few players outwith that market who can come in and do well for less than these players may cost.

The money wasted in transfer fees, wages and signing on fees will be astronomical for a club with our income. I would assume in the many 10's of millions. It's gross mismanagement from us where each wrong deal costs us in the region of £2-3m. It's not sustainable if we aren't getting these transfers right and move players on when their stock is high and we are doing well in Europe. It is shocking, and the rebuild we face is massive.

He should definitely be focusing on the players who want to be here now, and the ones who will be here long term. League and cups are done, 2nd place is cemented, we should be seeing if the rest of the squad are capable from now until the end of the season.

I just meant that our back 4 are as bad as our front 3. At one end we can't score a sitter, at the other end we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

Fucking hell mate. As much as I would love them not to, they all count regardless of it being last season or the season before. 5/7 trebles is unacceptable.

I get where you are both coming from. They don't like pace and directness running at them. We're just unfortunate that Wright, Sakala and Matondo have pace to burn but aren't very good. (Sakala most effective out the 3).

Slightly confused here. We should be furious that they've had 5/7 trebles in the last 3 seasons. It should never happen that often to the point where it's a blip when they don't get one. We, clearly, haven't been good enough and the rot needs to stop today.
