This topic started out as a question which arose during a few Bear beers, Sunday night. Only resultant questions have been highlighted and never intended to be contentious. Last thing I would want.

You just have the feeling... 4-4 against celtic come Saturday. £100 on @ 33/1. It's 4-3 to us and celtic are awarded a final kick of the game penalty. If...they miss it... Glorious victory. If they score, ends up a devastating last second draw. However, you win £3300. Penalty's about to be taken... What's your wish?
-
Would it perhaps be a fair shout your correct score bets have never caused such a 'conflict'...
-
-
Do you watch/listen to the game? What if we're 4-1 up, do you want them to score!? We could understand putting a correct score bet on if not watching/listening to the match and simply awaiting the outcome. Otherwise... no! Surely there could be a conflict!
-
You looked it up. Wow... 7/2 and I thought maybe 7/4... Mmm...
-
What do you fancy the odds are right now of winning the league - without looking it up! I have no idea - guess we're maybe 7/4. What do you think? Anyone else want to have a guess and see what we make of it right now (no checking!) AyrshireBlue... what do you reckon?
-
Understood... if your bet is correct at that time... Those questions still remain though: you've bet on 3-1 and it's 3-0, do you want them to score?
-
Do you not take a financial hit on doing that, though?
-
Discussing this in the pub, Sunday and it brought up some questions we thought were an issue. If, say... you fancied a 3-1 win for us - home or away - it was decent odds, say 7-1 and you had £50 on that. (A) We're winning 3-0, so do you want the opposition to score one goal? (B) We're win winning 3-1, do you not want us to score again? We simply couldn't understand how anyone could bet on a correct score, also be 'financially impartial' under these and similar circumstances, yet either want us to concede a goal, or not score again. How would you reconcile this?!

See if you've done what I think you have here... I'll come back and look at those links later - you have to be kidding mate... It was always a family joke there was no known Dutch ancestry on Billy's side! And, aye, pure Gorbals born and bred; I don't know what in earth you have found and I'll leave that until I'm Ready.

Recollections now... my uncle was Billy Vandermotten and he played for Third Lanark. I know he had three caps playing for 'Scotland Juniors' (would that be right?), as he showed them to me! Aye, 'lesser Hampden', from what I recall so many years ago it was essentially just a 'park pitch'! ?
-
That's really interesting. I remember my uncle taking me to see a game at 'lesser Hampden', which was simply an offshoot of Hampden itself.
-
On YouTube, I can wholeheartedly recommend... A search for 'Rangers 3 celtic 0 1985' should find this.
-
Proper pitch as well.

Some old programs which I thought might be of interest for the cover photos. (The first one... Don't know what we were thinking about there...).

Apologies if this has been posted before... Surely, although I've had a look back and can't find it. Tremendous program from our past...
