markem 7,326
Lads us crossing borders to play has been discussed until it got boring however circumstances have changed significantly. Unless i am wrong (its happened before) there is a real chance we will shortly 'not be affiliated to a member Assosiation' - we will (are) in circumstances that are exceptional in that we have potentially been the victims of a crime yet our fellow domestic clubs have disowned us and seem unwilling to accept us. Indeed the potential for us to present a case as victims of persecution and mob justice is growing. Do I see it happening? No to be honest however I hope Mr Green has took a close look at this. Our circumstances dictate we could tick the boxes we never could in the past. Every day that goes by the more plausible it becomes that we will not have a league to play in next year. Surely that cannot be viewed as acceptable to any fair minded person regardless of whether you believe us to be in the wrong or wronged. Probably pie in the sky stuff and am sure posters with a deeper insight to these matters will state why however it would be funny to watch the rest flap even if a application was considered. If a acceptable conclusion cannot be found then perhaps in the spirit of sporting integrity (coughs) a move to a lower tier in England is the only solution. Septic of course are irelevant as there is no change to their league status or circumstances.Article 80:"If we received an official request that would be judged under the terms of Article 80 of the FIFA statutes, which states: 'any Association, League or club that is affiliated to a member cannot belong to another member or participate in competitions on the territory of another member without the authorisation of its current and prospective members and of FIFA, except in exceptional circumstances.'FIFA 2001: But Fifa has the final say and a source said: "Given that there is a viable national league in existence, it would appear most unlikely that Rangers and Celtic would be allowed to play in an English league"."And there is no compelling sporting reason for them to play elsewhere." FalkirkBear 2
If we aren't going to be allowed to play in our countries own top flight... or maybe even lower leagues....What makes people think that the English leagues will want to welcome us into their league structure? It's been said before... IT's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.. so give up on it.
DavieCoopersLeftFoot 56
Green will be keeping his options open and going for whatever will make the most money. I doubt we'll ever get into the english leagues but ultimately we'd be far more profitable for Green to sell if we did so can't totally rule it out. khancat 8
It would be nice to play in Engerland but it's just not going to happen unless Sky says so.
OneDavidCooper 2,505
I've said it before and I'll say it again, La Liga is the answer.
