Ronaldo gets Ancelotti apology

Ronaldo has received a public apology from AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti after the club wrongly assessed his persistent thigh injury.

The 30-year-old Brazilian star, who joined the Rossoneri from Real Madrid in last January's transfer window, has not featured this season due to the injury which also ruled him out of the club's pre-season preparations.

Ancelotti had expected him to be back in action by now, but Ronaldo's physiotherapist Bruno Mazziott then claimed Milan had given the player the wrong course of treatment which has subsequently delayed his return.

Ancelotti appears to have accepted that the club have been in the wrong and is now willing to give Ronaldo as long as possible to get fully fit.

He said: "Ronnie is recovering and he looks relaxed, but I will not make predictions over the date of his return. There has already been far too much confusion.

"Perhaps our evaluation of his injury was mistaken and we are sorry. He wants to play and will play. It was a slower recovery process than expected, but there is nothing more to it."
