  1. I think Smith's struggles against Ashwin were only temporary, and probably down to a lack of test cricket more than Ashwin being his bogey man. India without Kohli in there have their top order go nowhere fast once Rohit Sharma has gone. Rahane can get the scoring moving but it usually cautious. Pujara, great test player he is, goes nowhere fast. He stood at the crease for 200 odd balls and only made 50.
  2. Absolutely phenomenal player, just an absolutely terrible team-mate / weird guy / roaster.
  3. If you don't make the play-offs and buy out JJ we'll take him mate
  4. Much as I hate that particular club, I do fear this might be the tip of the iceberg.
  5. Will Pucovski handed his debut cap by the Aussies @Creampuff
  6. I mean, totally fair play to the Kiwis, but honestly come on tae fuck Pakistan. Multiple no-balls and dropped catches against guys like Williamson and Nicholls (in NZ) is just a massive no-no. Never going to win a test with that kind of pish. Pile of shite and tbh without Babar in that middle order, the batting is too lightweight. Shan Masood continues to fail opening the batting, he'll be getting punted soon.
  7. Incredible batting spell there from the Black Caps. 60 runs in 5 overs prior to the declaration would be impressive in T20 never mind a test match. Kyle Jamieson looks like a bowler who will prove very effective despite not being fast, accurate, or moving the ball much. However he is an absolute giant of a man who's long arms and height see him bowl lengths where the bounce seems to cause batsmen real issues. If he can add a bit of pace and movement he is going to be develop into a problem for a lot batsmen.
  8. Fuck me I was screaming at him 😂. FLY EAGLES FLY Us going to the playoffs with a 6-10 record would be akin to having 0 shots on target against Celtic and winning 👀
  9. I actually agree with that mate. I don't think Madden wanted to really book many players yesterday. Soro was let away with persistent fouling for ages, Morelos avoided a yellow for that rake down the studs 5 mins into the game etc. If that clown Bitton had made a tackle and mistimed it I think he'd have been handed a yellow. The most shocking decision Madden made yesterday was not to send Shane Duffy off for that absolute shocker on Ryan Kent, who is very, very lucky to get up from that and walk away with no damage. Disgusting tackle.
  10. I love it. Bitton doesn't make that tackle, and Morelos can run freely another 10 yards and shoot - would he choose to do that, and not cut inside, bringing Ajer into play, who knows - but the opportunity to shoot would have been there. If Bitton had made a legitimate attempt to play the ball, I would say there is an argument that red card was on the harsh side (I don't think Madden would have given a red in that circumstance), but he never. You're arguing black is white if you don't think that is a red card.
  11. I also think it's easier to switch between formats as a bowler. Guys have had plenty T20 under there belts so relatively sharp. However some (very) top quality batsmen have looked really sloppy so far in the 2 tests, where as bowling been good with spells wheres is been outstanding.
  12. Aussies, and indeed the Indians, just haven't been at it with the bat (Rahane aside). I'd assume it is just test rustiness.
  13. Was quite a disappointing way Fawad lost his wicket after such a dogged performance.
  14. Disappointing test so far, but Fawad and Rizwan are putting up some decent resistance making sure NZ have to work hard for their win.
  15. The bowling in the Australia v India series has been good - but it is showing the lack of test activity from the batting. Nobody has really looked comfortable so far, and despite pretty fair pitches, the ball is dominating the bat. Even when the batsmen get in, they aren't going anywhere quickly - slow scoring.
  16. Had no idea Ali McCann is actually Scottish, born and grew up here but opted to play football for Northern Ireland As with the likes of McCarthy and McGeady, what a riddy that is I would still like us to keep tabs on him, he looks a talent.
  17. Lakers strolled it last night Much, much better from Trezz and Schroder
  18. He probably is a weak link though. Don't get me wrong, he was asked to do a job, and he done it - but cannot help feel the Aussies will be better without him
  19. Always disappointing to lose but will cut the team some slack for last night with Bron and AD still on minutes restrictions and Vogel trying to work out his rotations. I will say though, Schroder has been bumping his gums about being a starter and did not perform well last night. If he wants to start for us, he needs to improve, quickly
  20. I don't see us trading Schroder unless it's for another PG (unless he starts bumping his gums about minutes) - we saw from the play-offs how we needed someone to carry the load whilst LeBron either wasn't performing / wasn't on the Court and I think Schroder has that ability to either work his own shot and score or be the playmaker for teammates
  21. Really don't mind Yogi. Might have played for them but generally he is one of Scottish footballs good guys.
  22. Yeah, I'm on board with the strategy now. We are strong contenders to win it all again this year, makes sense to lock in these loyal players. I think this might be LeBron's last year at his level, but watching AD in pre-season (small sample, I know) I think he might have elevated himself further. If he consistently knocks that 3 ball down and has worked on that over the summer, it's goodnight for the rest of the NBA. Genuinely excited. Last year I didn't think we were favourites, I thought we had the potential to go quite far, but our lack of depth would eventually cost us, but our bench players really stepped up when we needed it most i.e. Rondo who was disgusting for most of the regular season. This year I honestly can't see anyone stopping us. The Nuggets / Jokic potentially, Marc Gasol doesn't have the legs to run with Jokic nor does he have the physicality that Dwight had to throw him off his game. Think we will either trade for a physical big or bring one in from the buy-out market later in the season. Unless AD has committed to playing the 5 more often, in which case it's definitely goodnight for the rest of the NBA! My starting 5 in the regular season would be: PG: Caruso SG: KCP PF: AD SF: Bron C: Harrell/Trezz rotating Folk might laugh at Caruso being a starter but his chemistry with the team is unbelievable and he plays hard on defence which is required Kuz, Kieff and Schroder off the bench first
  23. Good bit of work from us tbh. Happy with that. If he has a great year, gives us solid flexibility in pursuing a trade or keeping as we see fit
  24. To be fair nearly all of the press row had him winning the first fight - I believe only the Mexican publications didn't and the judges on the night didn't - I think everyone who knows anything about Boxing had GGG winning the first fight. 2nd fight was a far closer affair, which could have went either way. However he will be 3 years older and I'd argue Canelo has improved. I just can't see how Golovkin can beat Canelo without a time machine to transport him back to being 33.
  25. I do think Canelo is suspicious in how he has transformed in the last 4-5 years. He used to have questionable stamina, but he has gained a lot of muscle mass and managed to significantly improve his stamina and power, all whilst maintaining his speed. I can just see him in 10 years time being another Lance Armstrong, and he has already failed a drugs test for a drug that would help to improve stamina and power. I can't think of many examples where that happened. He is however also an outstanding boxer - for a guy who's footwork isn't anything special, some of the little upper body movements he does are outstanding - he absolutely nullified Smith - although nowhere near the extent the DAZN commentary team would have you believe. GGG did beat him in their first fight, regardless of what the score cards said (2nd fight was far closer) - but he will be 39 years old by the time that fight gets made. I don't give a 39yr old Golovkin much hope of beating Canelo now. Smith should leave Gallagher - I really do not rate him as a trainer - and last night showed why. Ok, give Canelo credit for how he nullified Smiths advantages - but it was becoming obvious that by inviting Canelo on top of him he was only going to lose. When he did engage and go forward, he got some success. Clearly trained to fight on the back foot for this fight and absolutely the wrong game plan.
