  1. we are back in with the big boys of European football and competing in the best tournament in Europe i cant wait just over a week to go and i cant wait for the games especially with some of the players going to be gracing the Ibrox turf in the opposition teams Henry Ronaldinho Messi Etoo Xavi Juninho Fred Govou Hitszelsperger the list goes on instead of watching the same old shoite in the SPL. Its going to be tough to qualify but i can not wait it will be my 1st experience of Champions league as i just got my season ticket last year and never managed to get tickets before. The atmospheres sound superb on tv during Champions league nights and i cant wait to be part of that because when Ibrox is in full voice it is 1 of the most daunting atmospheres to play in

    :rangers:

Enjoy it son and take everything in,it'sunbelievable at ibroxon european nights, meand my sons are going to barcelona without tickets. We'll get them and try to turn it into ibrox.COME ON THE QUEENS 11!

  2. Cracking? He claims that the best he ever felt as a Scotland player is when we beat England 1-0...we lost 2-1 on aggregate and were eliminated FFS.

Just fuck off man!Only if you have never ever kicked a ball would you ever say that shite!Barry gave the sort of performance that night against beckham scholes and ince thatonly baxter had done before. He is world class and is the captain of the best club in the world.he is now the finished article, the best we will see for years to come. The best scottish player since Ian Durrant, both pre and post injury .

  3. Yeah i like the traditional Blue - White - Black :P

I do like sumtimes the all blue in europe tho - but tradition rules :) so blue white black it is lol

All Blue in europe for me, all the way.juventus '79 .only if we reach the final should we revert back to the glorious blue tops, white shorts and the best of all black socks with red tops.the best socks in football. For all spl games, always the latter.

  4. burke, and rightly so, has taken a leaf out of the lovenkrands 'i've got contract renewals coming up better get the finger out' syndrome can't complain about playing out of position as more often than not he is played wide right and he has said in the past that is where he likes to play, can't complain about not getting oppurtunities (well he could this year) even when coming on as sub he is up against tiring players so should be turning them inside out, all in all a promising player who either through bad coaching in the past or bad advice from outside influences (agent/family) about holding out for more money has let a lot of fans down

Well said.My thoughts exactly.Such potential, but really shit attitude.and the money.oh the money.......

  5. Pose your questions to Terry Hurlock for the CD legends series

A new interview CD series is going to be launched in time for Christmas and will include the interviews of some Rangers legends including season one which was with Chris Woods that was released a few weeks back

The next Rangers related interview will be with Terry Hurlock set to be held in a couple of weeks time. Gers fans have the unique opportunity to get involved by posting their questions for Hurlock on to this thread. A selection of the best questions will be asked and released on the interview with the best question winning a Terry Hulock signed Rangers photo which will be announced on here after the interview ( Mid October) Other Gers legends will be announced shortly.

    Let the questions begin.

What was the reaction by all the bears the night after you scored against septic at ibrox?

I used to watch you for millwall, how long did it take you to decide to leave the smoke and come to play for us?

  6. There are a variety of views on how we should tackle lies or unbalanced articles about our club particularly within the press and media…. these can vary from maintaining a dignified silence to a total boycott of the newspaper or media outlet concerned.

Many bears…and indeed if some stories are to believed…many inside Ibrox believe our club have been subject of some very unfair and distorted articles in recent years…in fact many of them have featured on here such as Anna Smith’s vitriolic attack earlier this year…

"Rangers are now reaping the whirlwind of hate that was nurtured by themselves."

Rangers Football Club have fostered bigotry for generations

    Rangers cultivated sectarianism

Imagine singing a song about being up to your knees in Paki blood, but it's ok, it seems, to insult Irish Catholics.

They were shamed in 1972 when their moronic bigotted fans ran riot in Barcelona.

Then there were the Nazi salutes in Israel last month.

For some, Rangers stands for Protestant supremacy in Scotland.â€

For a long long time, and much to the anger of Rangers supporters, the club maintained a dignified silence in response to the vast majority of these attacks. And still the attacks and lies continued. If the benchmark was that maintaining a dignified silence would cause such attacks to stop – then that strategy most certainly failed.

There has been a definite wind of change however amongst bears which has been extremely encouraging. No longer are they prepared to sit back and see this great club and its support lambasted by either lies or those with an agenda.

Furthermore the emergence of the Rangers Supporters Trust is another setback for those lazy and vindictive journos who see Rangers as an easy target. Not only does the Trust represent the concerns of its members and to an extent non-members – it is prepared to voice those concerns and take some of the clubs detractors on head to head. One of my favourite all time media moments was David Edgar “wiping the floor†with Speirs and his attacks on our club on live radio.

Graham Speirs felt the backlash of Rangers supporters for his sustained attack on the club and its support, as his contribution to the Ronnie Esplin book Its Rangers For Me saw the book being boycotted by many Rangers fans. Appeals by the author to Rangers Websites met with little success in stemming the anger over the inclusion of Speirs, resulting in Speirs name being removed from advertsing for the book and the price subsequently falling prior even to release.

Few will have missed the change in his tone recently when writing about our beloved club.

Bestia’s excellent letter recently to the Guardian newspaper should serve as a perfect example of how we as the ordinary supporter can carry the fight to the media.

For those in power at Ibrox they have little excuse. Whilst they took no action in respect of numerous damaging articles against the club and its support – Martin Bain was quick to raise a litigation against a French journo who suggested he had inherited some property courtesy of the JAB deal. It is clear therefore they realise the damage that erroneous or false articles can do to reputations.

In the move from dignified silence to taking action there will always be collateral damage – there will always be those who over react to justifiable criticism – but I believe that is a small price to pay in the bigger picture. If taking action brings to an end malicious stories about grounds men cutting the grass in the shape of a Sash…or the Bouncy being sectarian…then I think it is a worthwhile price to pay.

What will make a considerable difference is if the club stops leaving the defence of the club to the RST and the ordinary supporters such as Bestia, and presents a united front of defiance against lies and mistruths, and is prepared itself to take action.

I would think such unity of purpose would be in keeping with the great traditions of this club and the men of vision who made her what she is today.

Dar't,along with minstral and manticore you are by far the most gifted writer i have seen on this site. This is not an arse kissing session mate, but it makes me so proud that there are still bears like you about, otherwise we have no hope. Legend pal, that's what you are. Wish others would take your passion for the rangers support on board,i love reading your posts, always from the deepest part of your heart.

  7. At this stage our priority must be the league. We have no hope of ever winning the CL, so anything we get out of competing, be it financial or prestigous, should be looked upon as a bonus. Until such time that is where we have a squad that SHOULD be winning the CL.

We are in it so we can win it.Remember Forest? 1-0,1-0, 1-0.Wecando that also.nobody fancied them as nobody fancies us.They won it twice. We can do it too. Wev'e got the battle fever on! Come on bears. Before i die i want the european cup at Ibrox. Not the shitey version that celtic stole, the real one. :pipehorse: :classier_than_pipeguy:
  8. Heres a shock...........1st. Come on the rangers.Intae the fuckin lot of them. Barca are shite away in groupstages and they will never have experienced anything like ibrox in full voice, certainly not the Bigjockknewcamp or stamford bridge. Lyon are under reginald perrin these days and have lost their whole left side.Stuttgart are just shite. They are facing the rangers for fuck sake.Aye Ready!

  9. I love the display from the CL run CR. That's what they should be running out to every week, along with GSTQ being belted out on the PA system. Nobody suggested that on the anthem thread. How powerful would that be eh.YNWA compared to our national anthem? nae bother! We would be recognised around the world as THE british club.I love that display CR.Can you make it my picture thingy that goes with my posts please? We made a huge statement that night as a club. Fuck everybody on here who don'tlike it. We Are The People.

  10. just listened to talksport banging on about how premiership clubs have spent 530million on transfers alone . I emailed the show to ask them how much we will get for winning the spl this season, and how could we and the yahoos realistically compete in the upper echelons of the CL.Derby will get 27 million just for finishing last. Can anybody tell me how much we get for winning the spl? By the way, iwouldn't swap any of what we got for 13 mill for any of them.Pride, identity and respect restored by Sir Walter is priceless.

  11. We really are going to extremes now...whits the tribute dinner for

If he gets wan they will aw want wan

    :classier_than_pipeguy:

You surprise me fishy.always stood up and was counted against the yahoos, one of the few that were ever.A legend for sure. Along with the very best of boys who haveworn the royal blue.

  12. my hero! my favourite ranger.where me and minstral differ,he loves baxter and rightly so.He never let us down so he is the best along withe greig , ally, wee durrant, cooper etc. But big Jorg played in my position, with the same german football education.he was me in a rangers jersey.Lazy?maybe.The man who was next to you in trenches with a grenade down his pants ?Always!A real ranger.unlike others who people love to give hero status to.My boy who saved me at my darkest hour when all seeemed lost in my life. My boys and i will never forget being in line with him when he blootered that ball into the celtic net for 9IAR at ibrox.Majestic!

PS Minstral: Please don't be offended, but on occasions he reminded me of baxter, the way he used to bring the ball down, and make everyone believe that he was better than them.

  13. A Stunninly made short film which had the hair on my neck standing up, shows u where we have came from!

Mate i have to be honest. I was more excited than most and there were a few, when Le Guen came, but there is just something right about Walter. He looks like he belongs here like the brickwork that holds up the main stand. A true prod, a true bluenose, and a gentleman first and foremost, who commands dignity and respect. These are the standards that our club is built upon, and the tradition upon which the club has grown. over decades. I don't care if we lose the league this year, because that will happen again in the future.

All i know is that SDM made his best decision ever as RFC chairman when he brought Walter back. Nobody apart from Willie Waddell, John Greig or Jock Wallace could have been compared on the same level to Walter. He bleeds Rangers, he brought me my coveted 9IAR, he brought me Brian Laudrup and Gazza. But most of all he bought me Jorg Albertz. For that i will be forever in his debt. Things are back to where they ought to be. Celtic can win as much as they like, they will never be of the same standard as us cos they are bheggars.

    Sorry if nobody else agrees.

    Dignity Restored

  14. There are people who leave Ibrox early because of legitimate reasons like transport, work or medical conditions. No fair minded Rangers fan is criticising them.

But I don't believe that the vast majority of the 20 000 odd people who disappear around 75 mins ono can be excused because of the above. In fact, most of 'The Subway Loyal' seem to do nothing except sit in stoney silence or shour abuse at the players before the customary mass evacuation begins. This is even true in tight Old Firm games.

Has anyone thought how this exodus might affect the morale and performance of the team?

I actually love waiting on the tube in the queue, just makes my experience of being amongst other bears, my sanctuary by the way, last longer. Hearing people row about the game and what they are doing that night. Some take it for granted. i used to when i could go every week. Now i only get up for about 9 games a season, and that alone breaks my heart, but to missout on the banter amongst fellow bears week in week out is the biggest heartbreak of all. Never take it for granted lads, it's the best feeling in the world.

  15. Boab, from the sounds of things you're doing a better job than the police and stewards.

    Get yourself cloned!

    Funny!!

Hmmm... proper patrolling boab? you on a mission to get some boys chucked out or something? only going by some of your previous posts you understand. you seem to take offence with most songs we sing or what flag we fly. Is there anything you actually like about my beloved rangers and their support?

  16. Great read, minstral. Wish I could've been over there for the match, but was only 13 at the time and without the resources to get there. My only regret was that Parlane wasn't on the field for the final (was over the moon that he scored against Bayern, though), but that was a VERY minor one and completely overshadowed by the fantastic end result. I'm still amazed my heart didn't explode during those last minutes - don't know if I'd ever survive were we to win a CL or eufa cup final at this stage in my life. What a great way to go, though...

del, as you know, Derek Parlane was the buisness, an attacking player of the highest order, and a great defender. I feel he is not remembered the way he should be.

Those were the days man !! The 70's was when I started to go, and to me, regardless of us not doing great, the best memories I will EVER have.

Sorry to stray off topic yet again, but i startedgoing with my dad evey game at ibrox in 77.i was only 5 but those experiences with my old man are something no amount of billions of pounds could ever come close to replacing.I remeber sitting in the new copland front must havebeen 80-81 against st mirren in the league cup semi when a rendition of the celticsong went up behind me.Next thing i remember was a massive rumbling noise then no more celtic song ever again in the copland.ha ha ha. love it.

  17. first they came for the billy boys and i did not speak out because i was not a billy boy.

then they came for the sash and i did not speak out because my father never wore one.

then they came for derrys walls and i did not speak out because i was not a apprentice boy.

then they came for me but there were no rangers supporters left to speak out for me.

first class minstral. and anybody who can't see what's happening to us and our club must be blind, and have no sense of feeling. This is only the tip of the iceberg bears, after a while there will be nothing left to give....

  18. morning bears and bearettes.

Just wondered if any on here went to barcelona in'72. my dad couldn't afford to go as i had just been born.it hurt him bad, cos he hadn't missed a game in 12 years. somebody must have a story to tell, manticore and minstral for sure if any.I'd love to hear what every bear who is old enough to remember it, to tell me exactly where they were that night.Bit of nostalgia i know, and maybe done to death before.I just think at times of bad publicity, supporter infighting and a bit of insecurity for the first time i can remember by the way, that we may just remember why we are bears in the first place.

    We Are The People

  19. this is the problem with you people stop living in the past

derrys walls have absolutely he haw to do with football

its u people who sing this utter b.s that give the rest of us rangers fans a bad name. and to be honest i am sick of it

i hope all who sing it get lifetime bans from ibrox

All who sing Derrys walls? :craphead:

My timposter senses are tingling :pipe:

Boab's in the thread as well, maybe that's why they're tingling :craphead:

Agree with everything you have said.come out of the closet boab, don't be scared.

Tell ye what. i can't get on with these new age rangers supporters at all.they'll no go to Motherwell away cos everton are live on sky at the same time. you are not worthy! you hear me? you are not worthy of our jersey!

  20. this is the problem with you people stop living in the past

  21. Tobe honestboys,i've converted some of the boys i work with down here in essex.they now look for the gers score after their own. They were asking me how they thought we would get on and i said to them that ithought this game was coming a fortnight too early for us.we are not tuned into the holding of possession that evenaverage foreign teams do better than us and the smellies from the east end.i also said that any sort of win would be a bonus or even just to escape with a draw to build confidence for the season. in my head though, and i hate to say it,i thought we would get beat last night.I'm so pleased we won. i was sitting watching the game with a hungarian ex pro in work as it was on the internet.he said as soon as we get some pace on the park we would score. that was 3 mins before nacho came on. we went fuckin crazy. to be honest i just wanted us to see it out then, fuck going forward. maybe it won't be enough, but they will have to open up a bit now.Wee Nacho and big MacCulloch up front for the away leg and we are through. sorry this goes on a bit chaps just got in off nights

Hope they bastards get fuckin humped tonight by the way! Come on Spartak! If we go oot, i want them oot as well

  22. Christ this is nigh on impossible but here goes. In order:

    Jorg Albertz

    Davie Cooper

Ian Durrant- all 3 tied for first place

    Ally MacCoist

Bobby Russel(so underrated by most bears)

Alex MacDonald (Fuckin loved the wee man as much as he loves us)

    Mark Hately

    Gordon Smith(najinski)

    John Brown

    Ian Ferguson

    I'm 35 and a bit.ha ha ha

  23. It is very important not to concede tonight and try to score over there.

Our recent defensive record is pleasing but it only takes one slip. We need to be alert for 90 mins.

I hope we score early and take the sting out of the game.

aaaaaaaw, come on the rangers! please just fuckin do the business tonight.i would give my left bollock to be there tonight.Come on.Fuckin intae them Rangers!
