  1. Your right if done properly, but if the investment is used just to avoid tax then it's against the law.

Some RBS execs were arrested a couple of months ago for this reason, there is all sorts of rules about using them and what the companies should and shouldn't do.

There was also something in the papers about the HMRC might be going after EPL players who or were using them.

    HMRC recent case victory.

    HMRC versus Eclipse Films

A Tribunal has dismissed the appeal of Eclipse Film Partners against HMRC's decision that it was not carrying on a trade that allowed it to qualify for E.I.S. status. 289 wealthy individuals invested £50 million, hoping to receive a £117 million tax refund.

£44 million was given to the promoter of the scheme and £6 million went to Disney.

Barclays Bank circulated £790 million between various Disney companies utilising a zero-capital weighted basis to engender an economic loss of £50 million. The idea was that this loss would be counter-balanced by a tax refund claimed on a 10 year pre-payment of interest covering the first period of a 20 year cash flow projection.

Revenue & Customs argued that the Eclipse plan was nothing more than a way of offering investors a large amount of tax relief, rather than carrying out any trade.

HMRC has been allocated nearly a billion pounds to crackdown on such complex tax avoidance schemes. They are focussing on closing down aggressive E.I.S. schemes which deny the UK vital funding by getting around the will of Parliament. The Court was told that 40 Eclipse and many similar EIS film schemes are being investigated.

  2. Good work from my findings hope it helps.

If anyone can prove they received a wage or any payment as a director of these companies they are fucked and there is also a rule about associates being in the same company.

Also if more than 5 million was recieved in a fund in a year it's wrong.

Also there is rules about the company must invest so if these so called film companies didn't do anything that is a problem as well.

I downloaded the full rules last night but they are on my laptop so i will post them up later.

Sutton looks like he may have had one as well, Stewart Milne is in one as well.

Haven't checked other teams but wouldn't be suprised if they were all at it.

  3. going to work now,but tomorrow i,m going to put all their names in a search and x ref with the various company's and see what comes up,

I bet they will all be part of the same company setup (tu)

Hopefully it all looks well dodgy link below to RBS bankers getting done for the same thing, if it could be proved these companies that they were using never financed any films then does that mean the HMRC should be looking at them?

The press should be looking into this!

Thank you for your recent e-mail relating to our partnership with the Scottish FA.

Grassroots football plays an important role in our local communities. For the last 10 years, McDonald’s has proudly supported the development of grassroots youth football in Scotland.

Through our Community Partnership with the Scottish FA we have worked with volunteers, coaches, clubs and leagues throughout the country to provide opportunities for children to play football regularly and enjoy their experience. We have developed over 1600 new qualified coaches and supported the delivery of a coaching programme in schools across Scotland for boys and girls.

We are now working to support the development of grassroots clubs through the Quality Mark programme. There are thousands of unsung heroes all over Scotland, without whom there would be no grassroots game. A recent survey into the grassroots game highlighted the increasing time and resource pressures that are hampering the development of grassroots clubs.

We are committed to supporting their hard work and dedication to youth football in Scotland. McDonald’s does not fund or get involved with the elite end of the game or decisions made on the governance of the professional game at any stage

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to comment.

  5. I just got the same one.

Looks like they are taking notice of our emails though as they are taking their time to create a reply all be it a shit one, Tesco came out with the same sort of stuff "Think about the children"

Natasha is getting a reply soon the same as Tesco got yesterday.

  6. Yes I think they are taking notice.

Everyone should send a couple of emails to any of the sponsors or partners they give custome to, only takes a few mins which could make it difficult for the SFA.

Reading on various forums and sites it seems to me we are very disorganised and split up into various groups with no clear direction.

  8. reply from Tesco

    Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your e mail about our involvement with the Scottish FA. I am writing to give you details of the Tesco Bank Football Challenge.

Tesco Bank, as part of the wider Tesco business, takes its community responsibilities seriously.

Over the past two years, we have developed a Community Investment programme aimed at promoting the health and wellbeing of young people across the whole of Scotland. To make a difference to the lives of as many children as possible, we partner with a range of organisations who share our aims. This includes partnerships with the National Galleries of Scotland and The Reading Agency.

As part of this commitment, we have developed the Tesco Bank Football Challenge alongside the Scottish FA.

Since it kicked off in September 2010, the Tesco Bank Football Challenge has developed into a successful and popular grassroots sports programme, involving over 30,000 boys and girls aged 6 – 8 years from primary schools in every local authority in Scotland.

We are delighted with the feedback on the programme from Tesco customers, schools, parents and, most importantly, the children participating in it. As a result, Tesco Bank has committed to take forward the programme, in partnership with the Scottish FA, over the next 2 years so even more children can benefit from its physical and educational aspects.

    Thank you for contacting us.

    Kind Regards

Oh well no more Tesco for me then :crabflute:

  9. Sent emails to the ones on the list I use.

Should also mention you will be using sites such as facebook, twitter and forums to encourage other customers to boycott them as big companies are worried about online campaigns gathering pace and hurting their business.
