  1. I'm hardly talking about 100 games.

Over two games he scored one goal. He had at least 2 or 3 more than scorable chances. Ones I would expect a '£8Million player' to put away, especially one that is apparently 'scoring for fun'.

Like big Andy Carroll, 35 million player who burys every chance.

And he has been scoring regularly how can you deny that?

  2. Jelavic has NOT scored in the Champions League for us. Do your homework. It was a CL QUALIFIER! Malmo are pish, and were shown up for that in their next game, and the lesser Europa League games.

He has scored 14 fucking goals in the SPL, not 17! See that 2nd goal we lost V's St Mirren.....who gave the ball away and couldn't be arsed tracking back?? :pipe: How about his lack of desire in general???

Post above for the first sentence.

I never said just SPL goals. He cost a goal, doesn't mean he has lost desire. He has still being scoring regularly and puts in plenty of effort.

  3. He didn't take one penalty last Season and it isn't all about stats. Like I've said already, in the past few games David Healy has been able to bring our midfield into the game more than Jelavic.

You cannot be serious if you think there has been no difference in his play this Season and his play last Season.

You also can't count him scoring in the CL this Season, he didn't. He scored in Europe, but he missed more chances than he put away.

I think because last season we won the League people forget how truly awful we were, the amount of abuse Walter took on here was incredible.

And when Healy has came into the team it has stopped us just punting the ball forward and actually playing Football so you cant compare the two.

Ok he scored in the qualifiers, you know what I meant.

  4. Fuck.

Forgot about the penalty were Edu scored the rebound?

Never said they were "Champions League quality" but he did score in the Champions League.

And he has scored 17 fucking goals in 26 starts this season how is that not scoring for fun ? and what other weaknesses has he shown?

Please explain your posts instead of just saying "not true".

  5. Evertonian in peace

News coming through our end is that the deal's been agreed with club and player and finalised tomorrow, though there's nothing reliable enough that I would say it's 100% certain.

Appears from reading posts on here that consensus for Rangers fans is Jelavic is a good player but there's an air of inevitability he would be going at some point, but that anything below £8m would not represent his worth...fair reflection?

From what I've seen of Jelavic he seems to have a good finish, decent movement, good in the air and not too slow. What would you say his weaknesses are? If Rangers fans are considering anything under £8m us underselling, your opinion must be fairly high. Reckon he could be the play Everton need to get us in top 6 in Premier League?

If he has half the impact a certain pigeon loving striker had after moving from Rangers to Everton he's going to be a big hit on Merseyside

Tbh his only real weakness since being at Rangers has been motivation and even that is a bit of a myth as he has been scoring for fun again this season.

He is two footed, has skill and great technique, is not slow, great in the air and just an all round great player.

At Rapid Vienna he scored 13 goals in 18 appearances in Europe and also scored in the Champions League this season for us so he is proven at that level.

If you look at the goals he has scored for us you will see how good a player he is, 2 overhead kicks last season and an absolutely fantastic finish against Hearts this season. He has also scored a good few free kicks and has never missed a penalty for us.

For Rangers he is probably an 8 million player but in EPL terms you could be looking at 10 million+ easily.

  6. This always makes me laugh. Usual a tim that says this nonsense though.

Rangers and Celtic are NOT big clubs. They were DECADES ago, the fact we both get humiliated by 9th rate sides in europe shows it.

Facts are - not many people worldwide CARE about the OF. Its a deluded theory that we are 'worldwide' If so...neither side would be in debt, as millions would be pouring in from Asia,Japan,South America, Scandanavia etc....

Rangers and Celtic are massive in Scotland, big in Ireland and some...in england have a 'favourite' OF side....apart from fellow scots abroad, thats as far as it goes.

As far as the question ''who are we bigger than'' ridiculous thread....doesnt even make sense, based on what exactly? and who cares if someone thinks we are bigger than West Brom.....does that make us feel better about a bleak future?

Heyyyy we might be fucked , but are bigger than West Brom and Swansea City

Going by your shite post none of the EPL clubs are worldwide considering they are all in debt...BUT SURELY NOT?! they must have all that money from asia coming in how can Man United be in so much debt?!

And because you get put out of Europe that means you're not a big club? what a lot of shite.

http://www.rangers.co.uk/globalsupportersClubs - thats just the supporters clubs never mind fans abroad who arent in a supporters club. We have fucking fans from America and New Zealand on this very forum but we are not worldwide.

I have seen some shite posts on RM and boy this is up there.

Are people really basing the size of a club on their finances they get through TV revenue and their ability on the pitch? what a slap in the face to some of historys great clubs.

  7. The Championship is a great League to be in.

There is always around 4-5 teams who are very close to each other at the top.

Anyway managed to reach first but there is another 3 teams 1 point behind me and it seems as if the team has collapsed with the pressure. Since getting to the top of the League I have played 8 games and have drew 6 of them and the team is playing shit.

  8. Hard to compare domestically since the standards of the leagues has always been different so I would look at teams who have won a European trophy as we have and who have been better supported than Rangers historically. These would be;

Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Newcastle who all have higher crowds than us with Everton being on a par roughly.

Your original statement is correct when compared to Liverpool and Man United because they have won many EPL titles but you cant dismiss SPL titles when comparing us to the rest of the EPL.

And Spurs, Chelsea and Newcastle are historically better supported than us? nonsense.

Our average attendance last season was 45k and thats in the SPL with 3 teams from the EPL besting that and Man City being equal. Newcastle(47k) Arsenal(60k) Man U(75k).

And then if you look at Newcastles average attendance in a League comparable to the SPL it was around 40k which is considerably lower than ours.

  9. Can you compare a SPL title win with a EPL title win? I'm not convinced. Would the same rules apply to Linfield?

Money wise, they're on a different planet.

Attendance wise, they're a case for comparison.

Which leaves European competitions to compare against. With my blue tinted specs on, Liverpool and Man Utd are only the two clubs that are bigger. But, when you take them off. Were falling way down the list.

Maybe not in this day and age but it wasn't always such a poor League.

Attendance wise there isn't, we average 45k a match and there isnt many in that League who beat that.

Money wise, if you compare turnover we make more than quite a few EPL clubs.

Fanbase, Outside the big 4 maybe 5 we have a bigger fanbase.

Success, the sheer amount of trophies this club has won you can't just dismiss them because of the state the SPL is in today.

Stadium and facilites, again only 1 or 2 would beat us in this category.

  10. It wouldn't say history defines whether a club is 'big'.

At least not as much as infrastructure, fanbase, sponsors, revenue etc.

Its the biggest factor along with fanbase IMO.

We have the 5th biggest fanbase in the UK, our stadium is rated as a "UEFA Elite Stadium" and only Old Trafford and Hampden are in this category in the UK and we are the most succesful club in the UK by far.

Money doesn't factor in the size of a club IMO, you could maybe make a case for Man City being a big club with them being one of the top clubs in the world.

  11. LOL, so what style of striker is he that is excempt from the old fart player stigma?

Hope ally isn't going for the lumping the ball up to big striker tactic!

Seriously though, I know nothing about the guy, so am keen to learn more.

    Target man.

Sort of player who bullys the opposition to make space for others.

And he is very good at it, the long ball isnt a bad strategy if you have the right players for it. Davies would win most knockdowns IMO and he would link up well with Aluko, Davis etc. He would be an excellent support striker to have or even a lone striker if we had say Aluko and Naismith supporting him.

  12. Blackpool - 2nd season, still in the Championship.

    Gilks

    Eardley-Cathcart-Novaretti-Kilgallon/Papac

    Phillips-Collison-Mclean/Allan-Banton/Poulsen

    Graham-Mackie

Danny Graham is a beast as a target man but he commands a big fee. I got him for 7million.

Matt Phillips is amazing tho, he has excellent potential too. You should try and sign him or even just scout him.
