  1. Precisely the kind of appeasement that has resulted in a media utterly dominated by Celtic fans. D'you think Hugh MacDonald, Hugh Keevins, Mark Guidi etc feel any need to hide their supprting lights under bushels?

I can't see why you'd be afraid to openly admit to supporting the bears, unless you have a post history full of FTP type stuff. In which case, hell mend you, but otherwise grow a backbone.

They were my first thoughts but on relection - as you say the media appears dominated by them - so to have any chance of making it and bringing some balance he has done the right thing.

  2. Why is a representative of that lot commenting (is such a highly emotive way) on an issue between Rangers and the SFA??

If the SFA are trying to reduce off field tensions between the OF then surely they should be looking at McBrhide?? Is he not pouring petrol on the flames?

  3. No joke but I think he gets ignored by everyone.

I was watching him warm up at half time during the Dundee Utd match last week with Fleck, Hutton and Ness and they were all kicking the ball to each other and Kerkar was standing there twidling his thumbs. The only time he got the ball and joined in was when someone misplaced a pass and he got a touch.

Should have been in the team yesterday - would have seen plenty of the ball

Wonder what will come first his debut or the takeover...........

  4. Let's act like big boys then and sing songs that have actual true meaning related to our club behind them. Aye them from the East are clutching at straws with stuff like Penny Arcade, but if we cut out the actual sectarian and songs that concern wars that have no real relevance to our club then they'll be shown for what they are. A 'little brother' club moaning at their superior 'big brother' of a club!

I think part of my attitude, irrespective of whether TBB is right or wrong, secterian or offensive is being told what to do by that scum who at the same time sing about whatever they want. Just the natural reaction of 'you can't tell me what to do' when in my eyes I'm not doing anything particularly wrong.

Not diasgreeing with you - just analysing myself! Would think a lot of other bears feel the same.

  5. Brilliant, yet another defence of 'Oh but they're doing this, so it should be OK for us'.

The club have made it clear they don't want us singing these songs. Uefa have made it clear they don't want these songs sung. So here's a novel idea, why don't we, instead of always turning to the 'Celtic do this' defence, fix our own problem. Rather than continously see the problem as us being picked upon, and not the real issue of bigotry. Then any problem they have across the city will become apparent on its own.

It's 2011, our support is multi cultural, our players are multi cultural, yet part of our support are still dragging their knuckles and harking back to the days where we were unlikely to sign a player over his religious creed. Get a grip. The only thing these songs do now is tarnish the name of our great football club. Whether you feel the same way about the singing of these songs or not, you can't deny that fact. It's not media bias, it's not bias at Uefa, it's a fact - the world doesn't like bigotry and bigots, these songs are bigoted.

Now the last Old Firm game of the season falls on Easter Sunday, a perfect chance for us to show the world the true nature of our supporters. Would it be too much to ask that for this game we sing only songs about our clubs and players, that we don't hark on about songs about Ulster and their wars, that we don't sing songs glorifying the killing of catholics (considering their are many now amongst our support and our players).

I expect this will get the usual response of slurs about being a 'taig' and 'declan' etc, so to get it out there - I'm a modern Rangers fan. I come from a mixed denominational background. One side of my families catholic, the other side is church of Scotland. I'm also a season ticket holder and have been for 16 of my 24 years.

I agree with a lot of what you say. What irks me is that the complaints do not come from anyone who is actually offended by the songs but from the unwashed trying to have money/points deducted from us. My other point is - if we stop singing certain songs what can we sing?? They have claimed that Penny Arcade, The Bouncy and the Hokey Cokey (and probably more) are secterian!! Event he way the pitch is mowed!

We're all big boys let both sides sing what they want. IT'S SONGS. Not singing them won't suddenly have us hugging each other after games!!

  6. Just been over on kerryfail (before you start it was because someone mentioned their reaction to the takeover) and couldn't believe the hypocrisy.

Loads of them whinging about the reply from Macaskill's office to theui letters of complaint about the singing at the cup final.

Yet look at the user names - how many include the word fenian or are calling themselves fenians?!!! Nearly as many as are calling us h***.

They need to take a look at themselves and fucking grow up. Thick cunts.

  7. You are all assuming Kevans has been working night and day on a scoop - rather thatn waking up, scratching his balls and thinking - what could I write that might just be believed by the morons that read his articles without having to do any fucking actual JOURNALISTIC WORK?

If the famine song is offensive to the scum it's not as offensive to them as God Save The Queen - let them try to ban that!! Then it's time to take to the streets :tank:

  8. I don't think there is an anti Rangers conspiracy in the media. The lowlife will do anything for readership figures - sensationalism sells papers and while we have no PR machine we are the easiest targets and they being lazy journos focus on the Rangers.

hopefully when Whyte completes the deal he will appoint a PR manager with balls to slap these fuckers down.

    No surrender.

  9. Rangers COULD win the champions league next season.

Of course we won't, just as we won't go out of business.

IIRC the original article by prick young said 'when asked if Rangers could go out of business AJ nodded.......' hardly an unequivocal 'yes' is it?

  10. FFS THEY ARE SONGS. People say things others find offensive every minute of the day.

If I were a tax payer in Scotland I woould be asking why my money was being spent wasting time on a harmless song about another country (the famine song). Is there no more urgent prioirties like unemployment, poverty or health?

The whole thing is mushrooming out of control. Mainly because the UK fucking panders to anyone who plays the underdog/minority/under privileged card as a means ofm getting what they want.

I'm fucking sick of this. Get on with your scummy dole scrounging lives you fucking mopes.

    Have a nice day.
