Annoying thing about that last five minutes is that we were sending Mckay and Tav out to try and win it back, when really we needed someone to wipe Dumbelle out to make him think twice about doing it again. Our team lacks real aggression.
As for the young lad, we all know who he is and it's absolutely fine for then to bring him onto their own Park. I don't think it would happen at Pittodrie etc but they did celebrate like they had won the champions league.

Injuries and poor form happen but I really felt that with 11 new faces at least 4 or 5 would make an impact. Sadly only Hill for me gets pass marks. Hodson is another one.

He is typical of a player who knows he is no longer first pick, so the next option is to make an affiliation with the fans. In short a sad little man who now plays as a support role.
-
Certainly came onto a game as his fitness improved. He needs a partner with some pace. Remember Bougherra partnering David Weir. Bougherra done all the running and DW stuck to defending and organisation.

Remember when we added fight, talent and ability to our midfield in the summer?
Rossiter? Barton? Kranjcar? Crooks?
I can't be the only one that is amazed that after all the rambling about signing 11 players etc we actually still have pretty much the exact same team as last year.
It's a very good point, everyone was in agreement that the midfield that played in the Championship wouldn't cut it in the SPFL but by one reason or another that's exactly what we have. It just makes this transfer window so important.

Haliday should just fuck off. Hopeless and looks uninterested.
He did play in fantastic pass for Miller which hit the post. I think he is more a box to box rather than trying to plan a holding role which he had never played until he came to Rangers.
-
A midfielder with some ball holding skills is a must. All to often a pass Is made just for the sake of making a pass.

It proves that these players that came from being loan players in England's lower levels are not improving at all. This happens frequently and usually the same culprits, Tav refused to play to OHalloran on more than one occasion earlier this season. Video analysis should highlight the error and improve the player. But for whatever reason it is not happening.

I would of thought Matt Crooks would of been getting 15 / 20 mins here and there to build up his fitness in the holding role and perhaps look to put Halliday in a more advanced role.

This season reminds me of our first season in the Championship let's hope next season is the same as the second
-
If hitting the first defender was an Olympic sport then Tav is a gold medallist
-
That corner was typical of what's wrong, Foddy punches clear and the defence just walk out.

I had actually forgot Halliday was still on the park.

Wtf is going on, 20mins in and we were all over this lot then we quite literally take a gun to our head with the usual pish at the back.

Worked with me. They have switched the platform this week so could be with that. You able to log in okay?
Logged in fine, just looks like I am on PAYG

Just wondered if anybody else is having trouble viewing yesterdays game. Usually subscribers can get access from midnight, I logged on this morning but it looks like in order to watch I have to pay £ 4.99 checked my DD and last payment came out last week.

Tavernier.
He came on as a sub into midfield, a few runs forward through the middle, looked comfortable. Hodson had a great game at right back, and based on Tav's form over the past few weeks, I would give Hodson a shot again against Hearts.
Whether Tav is effective as a midfielder remains to be seen.
Yeah sorry about the spelling a little bit dyslexic (probably spelt this wrong

Wasn't at the game today but followed the stream at work, saw a post about Tav looking good in midfield , I have long thought this should be tried more often and have Hodson at right back. It worked well for Ricksen when he moved into the midfield after a poor start to his Rangers career at right back.
Thoughts ?

For me he his being played in the wrong position, he his a number 10 more suited to playing In behind a striker. Warburton is trying to play him on the right side of a midfield three. If you are going to play 4.3.3 the midfielders either need to be more physical and robust or technically gifted to then allow the front three to be more attack minded. Windass has some technical ability but not enough to be played in a midfield three. I do though think he has a future at Rangers when he is utilised properly.
-
Don't agree, I think he has something to give to the team but not in the current formation, tonight he had a header cleared of the line and but for poor finishing a good turn and shot near the end. Don't blame him for his playing style, that's exactly how he played when he was a Preston.
Mark Warburton only really looks at the English market ie Championship and League 1, I cant think of many teams down there that play 4.3.3 and play passing / possession football the way Warburton wants to play, so we should expect more of the same from future signings.
-
Spot on tonight when he stated Rangers game plan is back to front. Establish a foot in the game first by being physical and more direct then once established then use your passing football. For me we should be starting games the way we have finished the last three by being more direct and putting the ball into the box. By doing just that Garner had one cleared of the line and a great turn but poor finish. At the moment we constantly get to the 18 yard box to then turn away and re-circulate the ball to the half way line.
Totally gutted by the result tonight, but more by the fact that Warburton is just not learning how to win games and that his stubbornness' to not change the formation and ethos will ultimately see him fail. Surely his priority first and foremost is to be successful and then gradually strengthen the team and then once bedded in and experienced in the SPL start to enforce his 4.3.3 passing game. Ultimately his time at Rangers will end, probably sacked and he will find himself back in league 1, still trying to play like Barcelona with vastly inferior players, which would be a shame as I think he truly has something to bring to the Scottish game but he has to realise that there is a time and a place for the passing game.
Even Advocatt accepted that and he had far more resources than Warburton.
-
For me Warburton totally underestimated the step up from the championship to the SPL. He allowed seasoned professionals especially the likes of Shiels and Law walk out the door and replaced them with prospects + Barton & Kranjkar. Granted he put a lot of faith in Barton only to have that blow up in his face when he perhaps couldn't handle some home truths put to him post Celtic defeat and then just as Kranjkar starts to show signs of improvement he gets a season ending injury.
The rest of his signings are not up to the challenge of Scottish football, Windass out again Rossiter injured (always) Dodoo looked lost tonight. Garner I think could do a job but not in a 4 3 3 formation.
He also stated on transfer deadline day last season that transfer day transfers are panic buys (Senderos)
Thank f*ck for Wes

Think he looked more comfortable with the option of going long rather than always looking for movement.
