Drunken Duncan was one of my heros. A great player, didnt work out here for him.
ok . And the same could happen with young David .
I can admit the boy has been decent for 12 months or so , and has shown a decent amount of potential , especially in the last couple of months . I just don't agree with the many posters who are acting like signing him is the be all and end all .
I wonder if I asked a question , how many honest answers I would get .
If we hadn't been linked with goodwillie , but the dirty bastards form the other side if the city were , how many would be saying " he's pish , overrated , they can have him , waste of money , etc etc "
Or would everyone still be of the opinion that he is the best thing since sliced bread .

I think sergio b is a fantastic holding midfield player and all round fantastic footballer . As some have said , is an automatic first pick for possibly the greatest club team of all time .
He is great on the ball , has a wonderful first touch and gas a good range of passing . He gets stuck in when needed , although he does go down to easily at times for my liking .
But the thing that impresses me most is his knowledge of the game for such a young man , and relatively inexperienced player . Especially in a role where experienced players tend to excell .
He is always positioned right , whether in defense or attack . You very rarely see him sprint anywhere as he is always within four or five yards of where he needs to be positioned on the park .
He may not be the best def mid in the world but he's pretty damn close , and for my money would walk into any other side in world football .
A magnificent player plucked from nowhere by pep . And he's only going to get better .

Is a better player than lee mcculloch every day of the week . At 25 has plenty spl experience but still has the possibility to be sold on for a profit .

I just love watching him play , and I'm sure most football fans feel the same . I used to love watching ronaldinho , zidane before him , and ronaldo before him . These guys were special players , that could do amazing things , and score unbelievable goals . But IMO even now , at only 23 , messi outshines them all .
Ronaldos career tailed off toward his latter years , and ronaldinhos going the same way . Things can change quickly in football , so I think it's maybe a bit premature to call messi the best ever . Although I think it's very realistic that by the time he retires , that accolade could well be his .
And I look forward to watching him for many years to come

Well deserved young man . IMO , well on course to be the greatest player off all time . As an earlier poster said , the excitment when he picks up the ball and heads for goal is unlike anything I've experienced before . A true genius , and unbelievable to think he's only 23 .

Okay guys , good responses , and all seem honest .
Nobody has used the phrase " best thing since sliced bread " but many seem to be making him out to be a much better player than I believe he is .
I honestly believe that our lack of signings over recent years mean that we get so excited about the thought of signing someone , that the player in question becomes better than they really are in the minds of many .
I'll be honest here and admit that there is no doubt he is a promising player , I'm just not as keen on him as others .
