I thought with the odds on a 5th being 4/9 that the players might return to the field with a 2/1 goal for Hacken, this game seems unlikely to mean much anyway as Helsing will go out anyway barring a miracle and Hacken win the group no matter what.

Sure enough Hacken score the 6th, cunts.

I slapped this on after the 5th went in because that surprised me

  2. BK Haken U21 to score the next goal V Helsingborgs U21, in play, it's half time just now, BK Haken have won the group and have lay down to Helsingborg in the first half letting in a flurry of goals (Helsing up 4-0), with the odds on BK getting the next goal at 2-1 I expect them to do that much having exhausted the win and a flurry of big money goals for Helsings.

  3. Colo Colo getting humped 3-0 at home by San Luis at half time,.......too bad to be true? It was earlier with Las Palmas (3 down to Celta Vigo, some very suspicious goals, finished 3 each).

Colo Colo to score over 1.5 in the second half is 11/8, I would suspect that is sound.

If you're really brave then Colo Colo or Draw is 7-1.

  4. Rangers pay off £250,000 EBT fine after failing to overturn controversial SPFL decision

    BY RECORD REPORTER

IBROX chiefs insisted the club was not liable for the actions of the Oldco company but have agreed to stump up the money after losing their case at an SFA tribunal.

RANGERS have revealed they have paid £250,000 to the SPFL to settle a fine imposed upon the Ibrox Oldco.

The Light Blues issued their annual accounts yesterday and buried in the detail was the admission that the club had finally been forced to cough up the cash to the SPFL.

The SPFL – which was formed in 2013 – is the successor to the SPL. The League body – led by cheif executive Neil Doncaster – claimed it was was due the cash as part of the deal brokered by the SFA after Rangers were liquidated in 2012.

The newco company that was formed by Charles Green that year agreed it would be liable for any footballing sanctions imposed by the SPL in relation to the activities of the oldco club.

In February 2013 an independent SPL commission set up to probe the use of EBTs at Ibrox fined the Oldco £250,000.

The EBT scheme has been ruled to be an illegal tax avoidance mechanism although the case has now been appealed to the UK’s Supreme Court.

Lord Nimmo Smith – who chaired the SPL probe – focused on the club’s use of undisclosed side letters to players about their EBT payments rather than the legality of the payments themselves and decided that Rangers had breached the rules by not disclosing the payments to the SFA.

Crucially he also has judged that Rangers did not gain an unfair sporting advantage from their use of EBTs which saw players at Ibrox receive tax free payments of £9m in one season alone.

Rangers chairman Dave King battled against the SPFL over the Oldco fine

Rangers therefore avoided the most severe sanction of losing up to five SPL titles won during the period investigated from 2000 to 2011.

The commission decided Rangers had gained no sporting advantage and stopped short of stripping the club of titles and it appeared the issue was over as the fine was levied on a liquidated company.

At the time the commission stated: "Although we are well aware that, as Oldco is in liquidation, in practice any fine is likely to be substantially irrecoverable and to the extent that it is recovered the cost will be borne by the creditors of Oldco, we nevertheless think it essential to mark the seriousness of the contraventions with a large financial penalty."

Rangers always maintained that the liability for the football debts rested with the Oldco.

But the SPFL was adamant the club was still liable for the cash and threatened to withhold broadcasting money and other sums due to Rangers if they didn't stump up.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster was adamant that Rangers should pay up

An SPFL statement in 2014 said: "The Rangers Football Club Limited (“Rangers Newco”) signed an agreement under which they would be liable for such sums.”

Rangers, though, doggedly refused to pay up and appealed to the SFA – Scottish football’s ultimate governing body – in a bid to overturn the SPFL decision.

However, in March the Daily Record revealed how three law lords sitting on an SFA Arbitration Tribunal had found against Rangers.

The club then agreed to cough up the cash with the Rangers accounts now showing that the SPFL eventually received £286,000 to settle the dispute.

The Rangers annual report issued yesterday states: "In 2012, the SPL raised proceedings against The Rangers Football Club plc (Oldco) in relation to the use of EBTs and following a hearing in February 2013 a fine of £250,000 and costs of £150,000 were levied against Oldco.

"As part of the agreement to allow Rangers to participate in Scottish Football, there was a clause inserted where it was agreed that Rangers would become liable and responsible for the imposition of any sanctions by the SPL for any breach of SPL Rules and or articles by Oldco/Rangers FC (i.e. the £250,000 fine).

"The Club believed that the SPFL had, through documents and actions, waived all and any right it may have had to insist upon payment under the clause, thereby holding the Club harmless in relation to the sanctions. This was disputed by the SPFL.

The statement regarding the £250,000 in the Rangers annual report

"Within the current SPFL rules there is a provision (known as the offset rule) whereby if any amounts are due to the SPFL, the Board of the SPFL are entitled to withhold amounts due to the Club up to the value of the amount outstanding.

"The Board of the SPFL determined that it would impose the offset rule to recover the £250,000 fine from the Club.

"As a result of this decision, the Club invoked Article 99 of the SFA Articles seeking a determination by an Arbitral Tribunal appointed by the SFA that the sum was not due to the SPFL.

"The tribunal was held in October 2015 and found in favour of the SPFL and as such the Club was liable to pay the fine plus associated costs.

"The Club duly paid the SPFL and the total paid during the year amounted to £286,000 and has been disclosed as a non-recurring cost in the financial statements."

  5. First and foremost my thinking in the run up to this game is that we've stayed the course with the managers "philosophy", while Celtic will now be looking more than ever for that elusive treble with their atmosphere at home no longer able to get them the results in Europe; with that in mind 0-0 for me is good, here's hoping we can create a couple of chances and take them while they either can't take theirs or aren't given a chance due to timing.

For me though we are an odd team; set up to attack a team to death with possession and consequently are left wide open in defense yet we create nothing, take less, and look permanently like we'll make a mistake in a defense that should be better than most considering how wide open we are willing to leave it.

My plan for the second half would be quick direct attacks to score, then play our usual attack (possession that goes nowhere) as our primary defense and when we lose the ball we should fall back and camp our 18 yard line as a team like every single club in Scotland does against us.

  6. From a purely a gambling perspective, I'd be wary of slapping money on them because they'll consider themselves a far better team and capable of pulling the rabbit out of the hat when required; meaning they can afford to "gift" a goal and still come out on top. Of course they could just go for the same again as last time but should that fail to materialise then them getting the vital goal with both teams having score may be the way to go.

From the perspective of being a Rangers fan, I can't touch this game, we've done nothing to suggest that we'll adapt to run them close or get the better of them and when you factor in Celtic's European 3rd spot starting to look unlikely, all eyes from them will be on the big money men for that coveted but, thus far, elusive treble.

I'm hoping we can take our chances, score the winner in the critical minute kind of thing but in honesty I've seen nothing in each of our form to suggest our job will be more than damage limitations (sadly).

Great advice as usual mate, will try have a look at that cheers.

I'm more of a punter than a gambler mate wouldn't put myself in the shit money wise, do enough of that with other vices ha!

I'm sure the corner is there to be turned, unlike other times where I've felt I had to strip my gambling thought process back and start again,  I've been basically just unlucky, pipped on the line, missing a horse I would have normally backed, 90 minute equalisers etc, so I know it isn't a permanent situation im in....hopefully

I always throw in a note of sensible caution because you never know what someone else is meaning when they say they are on a bad run - I mind seeing a guy at one of the big race meets and he had remortgaged the house and slapped it on the fav at 4-1 (was well fancied), all of this said in a quite chuffed fashion while saying if it didn't pan out he was fucked, his wife would leave him for a start as she had no idea their home was under threat, was on telly anaw, BBC presenter just looking horrified and giving it "Erm moving on..." . It's easy to see "everyone" winning and thinking "If I just keep going it'll come good" so I try to mention the things that don't need to be said just incase someone is THAT person at the minute that needs reminded.

I missed out on Tikkandemickey the day cause I forgot about it, had been waiting on it anaw, at the point I realised I was thinking "sums up my luck the now".

3 Frankels out tomorrow I might throw in a treble or lucky 15 im scunnered!

Football mate, soccerway the teams then monitor the game activity and read how it's going - South American games tend to go the way of making sure everyone gets some good odds coming in.

Something simple like team to score before X minute or more than 0.5 goals first half are good.

I was getting pumped and that was continuing tonight with some of the gentlemen's agreements in the European games but I started picking up when I focused on what I have an idea about and trusting my judgement in play having decided what the outcome should be while factoring in the way the game is actually going; while bearing in mind that the America's are shameless for match fixing.

    part of my run tonight

Of course though, if your fucked for cash for the love of god stop - we've all chased the rabbit down the hole at some point but you can't always pull one out the hat otherwise we'd all be rich.

  9. Anything less than 2nd must result in the sack for Mr Warburton, should less than 2nd be attained I'd find any other outcome bizarre.

I said a few weeks ago that should we continue the form we've shown in the opening of the season that I'd be willing to show him the door and that's because there is no justification for poor form with what we have at our disposal compared to everyone else.

Now we've managed to get a good win last night (all things considered) and hopefully that continues and we can bin debate on the manager etc. etc. (no one actually wants to us huff and puff out our arse and sack our manager in the latest installment of Rangers as a comedy series) BUT the warning signs have long been there and they continued last night to the point whereby we could easily have lost, there's nothing inaccurate or unfair in that statement.

I will say this in advance though, (somewhat in our managers defense) there is nothing to be achieved in building us up to get a result against them in the next game as it's simply too soon following our demolition by them to genuinely expect us to do anything more than a damage limitation job. At least if we 'keep it real' then anything better than that is a bonus as opposed to sitting with vast quantities of egg on our faces.

  10. It honestly doesn't matter at this stage with these players in this setup, we look a direct ball away from being in trouble during every opposition break and we look a composed finish away from dropping points.

  11. I would assume that it was something to do with Sutton or a perceived gripe at coverage of us.

Whatever the case, I'm glad he didn't speak to them because I'm actually sick of hearing everyone in and around the first team telling us about how they've learned and what they are going to do to teams etc. etc. for now let's do all our talking on the pitch.

  12. Waghorn needs a hand, better service or a bit of space (yes he can play on the right but he's not gonna score much there what's it to be?!).

Garner needs space, low level defense and cross balls for the head. (Not seen much from him to prove his former fans wrong that he's a League 1 player tops and effective primarily where a teams defense goes on holiday. I also think my suspicions that the rumoured £1.8M was nonsense are proving to be true.)

Dodoo needs 1 or 2 more seconds than what he's got.

I personally think we'd see far more from all of them if we changed to attacking more directly with pace rather than walking it to the edge of the area but I'm not the manager. I also think O'Halloran should be on the right at present or tried through the middle in my suggested approach even if his subs appearance at left wing the other week made him shite and other things in the eyes of many, he creates goals and can run like a whippet.

  13. Niko has ability that few in this country have ever seen with regularity in the flesh never mind been able to replicate however if we get half a season of games out of him we're doing better than any of his clubs in the last 6 years. Now you could say that our league is so gash that he should be able to surpass that target for any minus points he has and I wouldn't be quick to disagree but for me Kranjcar is someone you start against slow hard working teams with "zero" ability and more likely, you bring him off the bench when Plan A has went tits up and we need a spark of genius against tired legs and minds. Against them my feeling is that he be largely. if not entirely, snuffed out should he start.

Thought some of his play tonight showcased just how much ability we're missing as a team should walking the ball into the net be the objective.

  14. Before this thread descends into accusations of being a 'Tarrier' and 'cunts are never happy' ad infinitum let's just cut through all that to save time and translate what both "sides" are saying.

OP is saying effectively that 'Yes we won tonight but the same issues that have been there for every game for as long as we can remember are still there so let's not do too much back-patting as we risk looking very foolish sooner rather than later'.

The Opposition are saying 'We know but we are trying to block it out mentally and just enjoy the fact that we won, can't you let us have hope that this win is a turning of a corner rather than merely being the same game we've watched all season but with us actually coming out on top?!"

We won and we should be chuffed with that all things considered, Caley tend to frequently turn up for big games and we could all envisage more dropped points away to them. We should however not shirk away from the reality that we look fragile defensively, like we'd struggle to get a result should the opposition score, that in order to win it takes a wonder strike from us, that for all we have the ball we attack so slowly that we do little with it (regularly have less shots on target than the opposition it seems despite having double the possession +), etc. etc. Ultimately getting a few wins under our belt is a big step in the right direction and we should be thankful for that but there is work to be done and our game against them looks to be too soon in coming.

  15. While I was in a minority only a matter of weeks ago in seeing Halliday as the first team, any calls that he should be playing for Scotland is premature; it's been a handful of games in the top flight in a stuttering Rangers team, let's keep it real. If he keeps it up then the case for him being called up will mount up also but at this point try and remember when we were sitting top of this division and asserting our intentions for the title, now with that memory in mind try and imagine a team being promoted to the division and starting "brightly" and come mid October there are calls for a player from that team to be called up; would you honestly echo those calls?! Just now in my opinion we should just savour the fight he's shown thus far and will him on to maintain it and improve as the season progresses.

  16. For a man who was written off not just by sections of our support (as recently as a few weeks ago) but by the whole footballing fanbase of this country (for the last 3 years?!), what a goal to score for your 100th; not bad for a man with "no composure what so ever".

May that strike be just the latest of many more to come from him this season.

Great goal and a vital win that entirely hinged upon it.
