  1. I'm only using Steam at the moment since my PS3 kicked the bucket but I doubt I'll be getting this 'Steam Box' or whatever they call it. For a start I don't have $1000 to spend on a console so I'd need to wait to get it pre-owned on Ebay. Secondly, I don't think it will be that much better than the PS4 and Xbox One. It will have better graphics but I reckon we are now at a level where the graphics are good enough that maybe, just maybe, the emphasis could go back to gameplay and replay value? Thats whats important to me, which is why I often revert to Snes and Mega Drive emulators and roll out a few classics. :)

Maybe the Steam Box (are they even calling it that or is that something termed by the Youtube community?) will be a game changer but it would need to offer a different style of gameplay and it wont happen.

  2. Another thing they are pushin womens football at the moment it's on quite a few different channels in one form or another, documentry and live coverage, it's to give it more profile, a set up job !

    An interesting theory.

It does seem to be getting a lot of coverage which is strange for a sport that nobody cares about. The point Tam made about less than 1000 being at an international game say's it all. (and no doubt the tickets were cheap)

Maybe they should grunt when they hit the ball like the tennis?.....

  3. Take the comment in context. My reply was in relation to comment made about board threatening fans with legal action. We can judge that without the need for accounts. Board have plenty of failings outside of their financial performance and accounts aren't needed to judge those actions or decisions.

    Fair enough.

  4. Personally I am find it increasingly difficult to support the current board but can understand that people want to wait for audited accounts before forming an opinion. That is perhaps why many fans will disagree with yesterday's protest.

"Aye but somehow we need to wait for the accounts before we can judge. Ridiculous." - You half an hour ago on Twitter.

Has something happened in the last few hours to change your mind from being "understanding" of fans' reluctance to turn on the board to labelling that mindset "ridiculous"?

    Just wondering.
    :)
  5. No one minds questions being asked - in fact in the board we have a team that met fans just a few shirt weeks ago in a move on transparency that we have never seen before - we have better direct communications orchestrated by JT and we have an upcoming open AGM and we are a public not private company.

However what we are asked by various factions without one iota of proof is to 'sack he board' and I find that impossible to back - if the SOS had asked for more transparency that is easy to back but they ask us to back a conclusion , not a quest for openness - in fact in my opinion all these factions mean the current board are spending time fighting internal fights rather than driving us forward and that in itself is worrying.

Roll on the accounts and Agm!

I'm in the same boat. I just can't back a campaign that has no evidence to support its argument.

Its just our nature, Peter. We can't change who we are. :)

  6. Not sure the Beeb had any right to suspend Tam Cowan for remarks made on another platform. As long as he wasn't saying it whilst at the Beeb where accuracy is expected.

For what its worth, Tam Cowan is one of the few at the Beeb i had no issue with. And whilst his article in the Daily Record may have been his true opinion, it was certainly exaggerated for comedic effect I'm sure.

Hey, it was a funny article. :-)

How Stuart Cosgrove remains in a job I've no idea, though. (and not just because he's unfunny, uninteresting, uncharasmatic and undeserving of a paycheck)

  7. Bill certainly has his detractors but he talks a lot of sense if you ask me. (apart from the religious stuff! lol)

That's not to say those of an opposing opinion are wrong, I just don't get the hatred towards him. All these bloggers have the clubs best interests at heart i'm sure but just because you agree with one person it doesn't mean you have to dislike the other.

  8. Console war lol

Out of interest why do you feel the need to tell people your an atheist?

Thats what it is. Sony's strategy has reminded me a lot of Sega's when they were going head-to-head with Nintendo.

(ps, Its just a name. I wish I had a better answer for you like "Atheists need to come of the closet!!" but alas, I don't.)

  9. If someone has made threatening and offensive comments resulting in the club wanting to take action then the person who made those comments only has themselves to blame.

I'd just have one question and it would go like this.....

"I read threatening and offensive comments all the time on the likes of Twitter and other forums fron non-Gers fans and to my knowledge no action has been taken by Rangers. Why?"

  10. Some more Scottish references....

There's a billboard that say's "Seaton Sands Monster Truck Festival". :)

There's an ice cream parlour called The Sundae Post. (Dundee's local newspaper)

    There's an alcohol called "Jakey's".

There's a news report on the radio about a local tram system going way over budget and way over the expected finishing time.

There's a ship called Dignity. (Deacon Blue)

  11. A very interesting blog.

Makes me more at ease with my decision to back the current board until we get the financial accounts.

In the past few months I've given up reading RangersStandard and CoplandRoad articles. The attempts to divide (and conquer?) was unbecoming, in my opinion, of what is expected of a Ger.

  12. That was our haters in the BBC.

I think it was Daryl King on Clyde1. (not that i'm a regular listener)

Whoever it was, I don't disagree that we could have won this division with a fraction of the wage bill we currently have. (Queen of the South ran away with it with a budget of £300k)

As long as we're not losing TOO much cash I'm cool with that, though. Just saying.

  13. Starting to think Richard Gordon found a loophole to antagonise in an act of defiance.

After all, can the Trust really rule on the name of a derby? There's nothing set in stone in regards to the name.

If thats what he wants to do, fair enough, but its incredibly petty.

Switch off. The show will go on as long as Gers fans continue to make up the numbers.

Edit: I'm in no way saying this is definitely the case. Just an opinion and don't care either way to be honest. (for anyone at the Beeb who may be reading)
