Fellow Blues, My thoughts are on a legal challenge too, I'm probally to individual to be taken seriously, but would be up for being part of a bigger legal challenge "see below" for my basis. I want to vent my extreme anger at the recent sanctions levelled against Glasgow Rangers Football Club (GRFC), as I understood it the SFA are employed with the sole purpose of helping football in Scotland at all levels and through times of extreme adversity. GRFC have provided the SFA with 140 years of history and enabled them to have the respect they have on the global stage, handing out draconian fines based on personal agenda’s is outrageous and quite simply in my mind illegal and as such I would like to be furnished with the name of the legal representatives of the SFA as it’s my intention to push for a vote of no confidence in the decision making ability of the said authority. There are two main factors to be considered here: 1)Campbell Ogilvie, the President of the Scottish Football Association and the former managing director of Scottish Premier League football club Heart of Midlothian, was the General Secretary of GRFC In 1978 and later became a director of the club, he relinquished his executive duties at Ibrox Stadium in September 2005, following a boardroom re-shuffle. It is well documented that this was an acrimonious period, thus his position in deciding sanctions against GRFC is untenable by association and as such invalid 2)Stewart Regan an Englishman has no pedigree or indeed experience of operating at the top level in Scottish Professional Football, his experience comes from the brewing industry and latterly that quintessential English sport of Cricket and his links with both Old Firm Clubs via sponsorship deals, place him to close to each to be action to be totally independent, once again making his position untenable. It’s also clear that Mr Regan’s track record at the SFA is less than exemplary, indeed within the first months of his appointment at the SFA, Regan had to manage the Scottish football referee strike, drafting in foreign officials as replacements and latterly his part in the following; “SFA ACCUSED OF LENNON VERDICT STITCH UP”, SCOTTISH FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION lawyer, Vincent Lunny and Neil Lennon’s Queen’s Counsel, Derek Hogg have been accused of coming to a private agreement over the charges the Celtic manager faced for being red carded at Ibrox. And finally.. “Governance is a primary responsibility and the appointment of a Compliance Officer and a move towards an independent Judicial Panel has enhanced the efficiency and transparency of the disciplinary process. Club Licensing, player and coach registrations, Referee Development and Coach Education are also key components of the Scottish FA’s wide commitment to the national sport”. On the basis of the aforementioned, this is a lamentable and laughable statement, it is clear that there is more than one hidden agenda at the SFA and sadly I’m not feeling very proud of my Scottish heritage at this juncture in time.
