  1. Did Edgar not sell a story to the papers saying Gers Supporters had issued him with Death Threats at a time when the Media were trying ther best also to kill us off. ?

We also caused his nervous breakdown and his wife leaving him as well if i remember right.

Some harsh stuff mate .David Edgar is fine by me.Dont think your right about the post you made. Also Cant remember him ever saying we shouldnt buy ST.

  2. First, a little about me...I have been a Rangers supporter all of my life, and started going to games when I was only six years old, back in season 1962-63. I have seen and enjoyed many triumphs, and witnessed a good few horror moments throughout the years. I have been a season ticket holder for more years than I care to remember, from the old Enclosure, the old Main Stand, to my now more sedate surroundings in The Club Deck. From these seats I have witnessed the comings and goings of every manager from Scot Symon to Ally McCoist.

When The Rangers were forced to take up their place in the bottom tier of the Scottish Football League, I along with many thousands of others bought into the notion that we were starting again...starting on the bottom rung of the ladder of the senior professional game in this country.

I still believe that we were harshly treated by a bunch of jealous and bitter rivals lead by a man(?) Peter Lawwell, driven by his club's barely hidden agenda for bloodlust and the destruction of The Rangers. However, I was strangely looking forward to starting out on a journey that would eventually lead us back through the divisions, back to the very pinnacle of the Scottish game and beyond.

The loss of players through desertion and transfer, and the illegal Transfer Embargo imposed, left the management with very little option other than to recruit "journeymen" professionals, and pad out the rest with youngsters and older players who thankfully decided to stay.

We had an opportunity to start again...to lay down a marker, and say "This is The Rangers Football Club, and THIS is how we do things here!"

The players that we started the 2012-13 season are/were more than capable of winning the Third Division, but I believe we have missed the chance to establish the template for the future. The players should have been coached to play the game at a far higher tempo than they currently display. The fitness levels should be that as would be required if they were playing in European competition. In short, the opposition at Third Division level should not be able to get the ball off us, never mind going a goal (or two) up against us at home, as has happened on a number of occasions this season. I would have hoped that by this stage of the season we would have been so far out of sight points wise, that the league title was all but wrapped up

    ...and it HAS been !

...but can any of us really honestly say that we have enjoyed the football on display ? Yes I have loved going to all the games I can, in very near capacity crowds where the atmosphere for the most part, has been better than it has been for years. We have been accused of being "DEFIANT"... well I defy THAT! Were it pure defiance, the novelty of it all would have evaporated long before the clocks went back in October. It is NOT defiance...it is LOVE...WE all LOVE The Rangers F.C.

I LOVED "Super" Ally McCoist the Player...his goal scoring exploits in a Royal Blue jersey are second to none...I LOVE "Super" Ally McCoist the man... he has been the glue that has held The Rangers together over the last two dreadful years. I have NO doubt that without his presence, then this GREAT football club that we all love dearly, would have sunk without trace...it would have gone the way of Third Lanark F.C., and become no more than a fading romantic memory.

However, I no longer love "Super" Ally McCoist the manager. I am not looking forward to next season as I should be. Don't get me wrong, when the Season Ticket renewal form pops through the door, I will fill it in and return it with my payment as I have done for all these years, but I will not be looking forward to more of the same for 2013-14, in whichever division THEY decide we are competing.

I think Ally and his staff have taken us as far as they can along this road, and NOW is the time to make long and lasting decisions for change and for the future.

There is a guy at Victoria Park, Ross County, who is young, dynamic, and passionate about his job (all of which are displayed in his team when they take to the pitch). He has been through the divisions, served time as assistant manager at Hibs, and gotten his team to the Scottish Cup Final 2010, and currently 2nd position in the SPL, all on a shoe-string budget ! That man is Derek Adams. (His father George was formerly in charge of Youth Development at Ibrox, until a "personality clash with Martin Bain saw him resign).

Craig Brown's imminent retiral at Aberdeen will surely see Derek Adams, with his managerial record ( and as a former Pittodrie player) register strongly on their radar. If as I expect Aberdeen make him an offer, and he accepts, then both Aberdeen's stock and that of Derek Adams will rise to the point where his next and subsequent moves will be to the EPL, and out of our League (like Sir Alex Ferguson) forever!

I would urge that we approach Derek Adams and get him signed up for next season before it is too late.

Very good post mate although i dont agree with some of it .

I also think Derek Adams is a shoe in for the Aberdeen job as he is a Sheep lover at heart

  3. As i said, i think the hatrick was in 83/84 sc cup final??? Would i be right. The bouncy i am not sure of.

No mate .Ally only ever scored 3times against beggars in Scottish cup and every one can be viewed on you tube or some other source .Im looking for the match that there were no cameras
  4. Started this on another thread but another good bear said i should put it on its own .

One of the proudest things ive done watching Gers all my life is to have witnessed every goal Ally scored against beggars 'live'.All 27 and the 3crackers in the 1986 Glasgow cup final.

Fortunately i was in his company one night and thanked him for some of the best moments of my life.

Ive got a few questions though and see if anyone can answer them all correctly.

If i get all the answers i want to see i will give then the first correct person a DVD Boxset of Amoruso,Albertz and Laudrup as a prize.

What year and what was the score of the only game where you cant see footage of one of the 27???

not the 3 in Glasgow cup final.

In what year and what game was the bouncy bouncy born and most importantly for what reason????

clue is in Cushys original thread. 1 of the 27

I Will Pm the person that gives me 'all' the answers Im looking for.Hopefully it will be a bit of fun and for the winner a briliant collection of DVDs of 3 of our legends for nowt.

Im not going to give any clues or replies to questions

Just the one with the answers Im looking for

    No winner no prize :-]

  6. Tonight I was gutted that Barca won .I had 4-0 on a double The other one letting me down but I'd gladly have seen them fucked out .Its maybe not the best place to admit this but I made quite a wee bit of money when beggars beat them ,Infact I had them half time full time .Reason I knew the fuckers would lie down to beggars and I still believe they did it in a very clever way .I said to anyone that would listen because of there relationship that both clubs would trade wins as it puts massive pressure on the other two clubs assuming there will be a few draws .I even said to my mates that they would let unwashed score first and then spend next 50odd minutes trying to score .It turned out that way that night One thing I've learned when betting is not to let your heart rule your head .I would have gladly taken the loss but I was certain beggars would win and so it turned out .Since that night I want Barca fucked in every match even if I lose a few bob in the process

  7. People who don't remember pre Souness or indeed pre Jock Wallace days don't know how tough it was. However they are finding out now! The Souness era turned things upside down for a while, and let's be honest before then Rangers were a selling club. We sold Jim Baxter , Colin Stein, and even John Mclelland as we could not match the deals on offer at Sunderland, Coventry or Watford!

Now , as you say we expect a lot more, and if we are honest, we are paying for shoddy goods.

I will keep supporting , and hope we get back to where we were, and that we start being entertained again, after all it is supposed to be entertainment is it not?

Remember it all very well mate .In early eightees we signed Craig Paterson .Used to think we could never have a poorer centre half .Think I'd take him now :-) Seriously it's weekends like this one that test you as a supporter and as you said the entertainment being offered is zero .Things have to improve and very quickly
  8. I have to say I thought I had never seen a poorer performance by the Rangers than the first half last week and then I discover that virtually the whole of this weeks game was even worse.

But here is a novel idea why don't we just all try and support the team. It was really upsetting to hear "the punishment" being dished out to young Barry Mackay when a pass did'nt get through, he has just turned 18 for Gods sake.

And lets be honest when we heard Ally had signed Black, Sheils and Sandaza we all thought they would rip Div 3 apart.

The fact is some people take a season or so to settle in and play for the Rangers and some good players never ever do manage it and have to be moved on.

We do need two centre backs, not one of the players who has had a chance there has been good enough. Big Jig has to step back he is at the end of his career is painfully slow and his position is now as a sub.

But to hear people say crowds will fall because of the way the team is playing is the worst thing I could hear, have we forgotten where we were less than a year ago.

We need to remember what we nearly lost last year , get behind the team and support them all the way.

The team will improve and we will get where we want to go, don't doubt it.

Great positive post mate .It may catch on
