No he never. He said he prefers to make sure he does his defensive duties first and foremost before getting forward and contributing to attacks.

Neither have ever been particularly mobile to begin with. I guess I must have dreamt us signing Raskin and Cifuentes, two mobile CDMs.

Beale highlighted his attacking abilities when he signed. He was brought in as cover at RB with the added benefit that he can fill a few other gaps in an emergency.

He wasn’t. If he had, we’d have seen it regularly in pre-season. We didn’t.

I expect this summer we’ll look at an actual replacement rather than a back up like we have had with Sterling, Polster, Flanagan, Zukowski, Devine and even Patterson.

Then why were the ‘better performers’ last season nowhere close (again) - both the fans AND the players voted him as player of the year so he can’t have been that bad. And if he was that bad, it’s pretty damning on the rest of the squad that they thought he was our best player last year.

Personally, I agree but it seems the goalposts are on wheels when it comes to Tav so folk can quickly shift them. Old Firm games are alway pressure games because we aren’t the underdogs and fans always expect us to beat them.
