  1. Page 11 (29)"We ensured Mr McKenzie's contentions were thoroughly tested. Sure you did doh Found guilty before a Kangaroo court, titles will be stripped and all done by Rangers hating bigots. When they do strip our titles, they had better be prepared for an army of Rangers fans marching to their front doors.

Lawwell, Petrie, Thompson and Milne are the 4 involved, who SFL chairmen described as absolutely venomous towards Rangers.

There is a direct link between Charles Flint QC and McKenzie.

  2. anyone who thinks a 80% posession ratio is viable doesn't have a fuckin clue.

it's 11 men, vs 11 men at the end of the day.

the average time for the ball being in play in a football match is slightly over 70 mins.

80% posseion means 1 team has the ball for 56 minutes, with the opposition on the ball for 14.

per player, (minus the goalkeeper), each player will have a total ball possession time of nearly 6 minutes.

    80% possession  that's laughable.

Hateley has as much credibilty as some drunk bastard in his local saying we should be winning every game 14-0.

I don't go much on stats as the old saying goes, stats and damned lies. However I was amazed to learn that Swansea had 80% possession in the first half and 75% in the second halfd against N'castle in the EPL, it still didn't prevent them getting beat 2-0.

Stats can be mostly what people want them to be, however as we are in the bottom tier of the SFL driving our fine Ferrari against the wheelbarrows and message bikes of our opponents and not in the EPL where teams manage immense possession %'s, Hately is bang on the money.

  3. theres a reason why he only makes a quick buck spoutin pish in tabloids and he's not the manager.

80 per cent possession rate.... what fucking planet is he on?

Probably the same planet as most of us, where part timers shouldn't be getting a kick against our £7 million wage bill, how about you still on Mars.

  4. I read part 52 again and it seems to say that the commission can administer a fine or other punishment but has no power to enforce a decision. The SPL may need the assistance of a court to enforce the decision of the commission. If I read this right if we are fined the SPL would simply become a creditor of the old co (and would be paid a pittance). Could be good or bad news

They the sphell/commission cannot invoke a court of law for obvious reasons called UEFA/FIFA.

  5. "But what of the rest of them? Of Fran Sandaza, Ian Black, Dean Shiels, Kevin Kyle and the foreigners drafted in from all corners? These guys should be taking teams apart at this level. If I was in charge I’d set a target of 80 per cent possession in every match they play.

If the stats didn’t match up there would be no day off in midweek. They’d be back on the training ground."

I thought the tall Englishman was a close personal friend of Ally's?

If so he's only a phone call away for a chat about what the tall Englishman thinks - or better yet - drop in for a face-to-face chat with his close personal friend rather than give him advice in a daily rag that McCoist probably doesn't read anyway. :sherlock:

As for his comments about the Tarriers earning a point in the CL.....from where I stand I took it that they'd dropped two points the other night. :wanker:

I must've got that wrong. doh

Whatever he is he isn't wrong.

  6. So for the numptys like me

Is this good or bad for us ?

It is just another cluster in a line of clusterfucks, I get the impression they are trying to extract Scottish football from this mess with the least damage possible and without the authorities losing face, which is now near impossible.

I also get the impression they would like to draw a line sooner than later without stripping us of anything, common sense may be about to take over if all parties get something out of it.

  7. ON Tuesday Rangers crashed out of the Ramsdens Cup – 24 hours later Celtic earned their first Champions League point in four years. The rivals are now worlds apart.

And yet the problems facing Ally McCoist and Neil Lennon at opposite ends of the football scale are surprisingly similar.

If there is one constant about the Old Firm it’s the expectation – the demands placed upon managers and players.

It doesn’t matter if it’s the Nou Camp or New Bayview – Celtic and Rangers are expected to go out and produce a level of performance befitting the shirt.

And right now, both managers are being let down by their own players.

I don’t want to be seen to be taking a kick at Celtic just for the sake of balance. McCoist would rather be in Lennon’s boots any day of the year.

But even so, Lennon will be scratching his head after watching the way his players set about a top-class European side such as Benfica and wondering how the same group were so easily swatted aside by St Johnstone.

It wasn’t a great performance by Celtic on Wednesday night but it was a very good one and the attitude was spot on.

Quality is not Celtic’s problem – application is. It’s Lennon’s job now to get his players focused on the bread and butter because there is a danger some of them are not turned on by winning a one-horse race in the SPL.

Rangers have no excuses. They are at the bottom of the pile. The sooner they start to realise it and do something about fixing it the better.

I was there to watch their Ramsdens Cup exit on Tuesday night – and it was the worst performance I’ve ever seen from any Rangers side.

The word disgraceful does not even cover it.

Too many of these players are going through the motions. They seem happy to call themselves Rangers players and wear the shirt and badge – but how many of them are prepared to contribute the blood, sweat and tears that have been spilled in the name of the club down the years?

It’s as if they like the idea of playing at being Rangers players.

And they certainly don’t mind the easy cash. Well, if that’s their mentality they shame the memories of all who have gone before them.

It takes a certain type to make it at a club like this. If you are not up to the job you will not last. The other night only Lee McCulloch and Neil Alexander were close to pass marks. It’s no coincidence this pair are the only players left over from the previous regime.

But what of the rest of them? Of Fran Sandaza, Ian Black, Dean Shiels, Kevin Kyle and the foreigners drafted in from all corners? These guys should be taking teams apart at this level. If I was in charge I’d set a target of 80 per cent possession in every match they play.

If the stats didn’t match up there would be no day off in midweek. They’d be back on the training ground.

It’s simple. If you have more possession, more quality and are prepared to work as hard as the part-time players, then you will win games.

These players might think they are good enough to wear the Rangers shirt. But until they start proving it on the pitch they will be taking their wages under false pretences.

    As told to Keith Jackson

  8. Exactly, clearly Ray has not been aware of DJ’s actions since we entered administration or should I say lack of actions….

His conduct on that radio show was nothing short of disgraceful for a former Ranger but why some are confusing this for people questioning his standing as a player I will never know…

I happen to know DJ fairly well I need no lessons in what he has or hasn't done, perhaps you can enlighten me on what he has done against the club.

However before you decide to berate DJ, reflect on the words of Alastair McCoist, has DJ said anything that would be considered worse ?

"We are in no position to make demands to anybody, least of all the SFA," said McCoist following the 3-0 win against Hearts (SFL3 feeder club) at Tynecastle.

"We are in the wrong so we have to go and abide by the decisions that are taken upon us.

  9. People will say what they want to say...................I said johnstone was that and at no time did I refer to him as to my thoughts of him in that way as a player........in the words of the great Curtis Mayfield ..................keep on keeping on .........but(yip) this guy will not bite Raytongue.gif

It is nothing to do with biting it is to do with selective censure on the abuse of team legends, what is good for DJ is good for anyone else, Alastair has been known to have been less than stellar in his off field antics in days gone by, no Rangers player past or present should ever be addressed as a CUNT, it betrays such a lack of decorum. :cgreen:

  10. He was a place and re servant.............what has he given to the name of Rangers since he left..............you really do need to read what is being said in relation to him.............no=one on this thread has slagged him for the player he was.........I from my point have made remarks as to the man he is, not as the player.

Sorry that you can't understand that. And not giving a fuck about my mind as you so eloquently put it.........well you did!!! as you replied to my post.........have no problems with that..........after all it is a forum of opinions.biggrin.gif

Therein lies the dilemma, does that make posters or should it, who use naughty "C" words or other such terms of endearment to describe McCoist the manager not the player immune from censure. :cgreen:

  11. My simplistic take on it.

So what was the "independent commission" set up for? EBTs or dual contracts? Prima factus (sp) evidence of what?

The now de-bunked journalist on C4, put a case together to show we were using perfectly legal tax dodges to pay players, that has not fitted the rules that the SFA signed off on!!!

They saw the books every year and now think there was wrong doing, having never picked up this in TEN YEARS.

But, no rules in place at the time were broken.

    They then change the agenda.

Dual contracts. If you pay players through an EBT, then their getting money from ....................... a legal loophole. Which they signed off for TEN YEARS.

Why do this years down the road? Oh, maybe because the whole of Scottish football is now being run by.......................

    Goalposts>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The VBs have been outstanding over this and the corrupt fuckers are going to get their day. Sooner than they think.

The body who said that there is a prima facie case to answer was Harper MacLeod, hardly the act of paper gatherers.

  12. It was claimed to be a draft resolution and as such open to "change", Doncaster said there were 18 possible sanctions if proven, obviously there will be no sanctions when "not proven"

The SPL's investigation has concluded there is a case to answer over EBTs – and the Ibrox side could be stripped of titles – one of 18 possible sanctions – if they are found guilty when an Independent Commission is convened under SPL disciplinary rules.

The matter is clouded by the fact the club are now a newco under Englishman Charles Green, so it's unclear if the 'oldco' or the 'newco' would take the rap.

Doncaster said: "The board will have to make a decision on who to prosecute. They are charges at the moment. They are not proven.

"The sanctions which apply to any alleged breach of our rules are absolutely unlimited.

"There are 18 different types of sanctions and there is no tariff set out. So it is a case of whatever is deemed appropriate in this case by an Independent Commission if guilt is established."

  13. Scottish Football League chief executive David Longmuir has confirmed Rangers’ League Cup wins stand, declaring the organisation feels “comfortable” adopting the position that the club’s history remains intact.

The Ibrox side have won the competition 27 times in total and on six occasions between 2001 and 2010, a period under investigation by an independent commission over allegedly breaching SPL rules in the way the club paid its players over more than a decade.

The SPL said that if found to be in breach of the rules, a range of 18 possible sanctions could apply, with the retrospective stripping of league titles among the more severe options.

However speaking after the draw for the second round of the League Cup, Longmuir said: “We [The Scottish Football League] are very comfortable with the position we have adopted.

“The history of Rangers is appropriately described on the SFL website.”

He added: “We are quite comfortable with the way we are treating the history of Rangers.”
