Aye it will be one of those moments where you know you're part of sporting history. My smart card is still being processed so got sent a paper ticket, thinking I might frame it as a keepsake of this momentous day.
-
Let's get Ibrox bouncin tomorrow!!!
-
The only option they ever talked about was single seat rail standing sections as seen across Germany.
The disadvantage of this particular type of standing is that it is considerably more expensive than seating and does not increase capacity at all.
The same capacity wouldn't be a problem, its the atmosphere that comes with the terraces that would be the main benefit. 7500 standing would generate a better atmosphere than 7500 sitting. I would move my ST back to the enclosure in a flash if they did this.
-
You're never going to see a return to the days of the old enclosures - you'll never get things as crammed as that again. So with H&S rulings it will likely be no change in the size of the crowd.
True, it's a shame as the atmosphere in the old terraces was unbeatable. The bundesliga safe standing areas should be looked at for implementation into football here imo.
-
They would still be subject to H&S so would be restricted but would imagine about a 25% increase at a guess. Would love the enclosure to go back to terracing.

I've always thought it was 1873, Anything Rangers i bought when growing up it would ALWAYS be 1873 and never 1872. Also on the brick work at Ibrox it's 1873.
1872 or 1873 whatever one you pick it's going to be close
That's because we were essentially an amateur team until the professional body was founded and we joined it in march of 1873, the club was playing under the name of rangers in 1872. this was the team founded by the pioneers.
-
Yeah that's what I thought, so therefore we should go by 1872, because that's the year the club were actually founded.
Aye, The SFA wasn't even around til a year after we formed so no need to use anything other than 1872.
-
1872 we were formed, sfa membership was 1873 was it not?
-
Just change the "controversial" lines to:
We're up to our knees in corrupted scum
but we will never die
-
Used to be me and my bro would go for breakfast and a few pints in Partick before hopping the subway, he can't renew his ST this year due to work so i'm also a lone Ranger this year, my ritual will consist of a lone breakfast then a few jars in the Ibrox Louden, hopefully I can meet a few bears to get smashed with on a regular basis.
-
I think it's all up in the air atm due to the broadcast issues with RTV

SW4 row H
Cannot wait
W.A.T.P
That's the exact area and row I used to sit in, was in seat 179
Moved seats this season though, MRD row M this season canny wait for saturday.
-
Never, they had the chance to cement their place in Rangers folklore for generations to come but instead, they chose to shit all over the club, the fans and Ally. In 3 years when we are back in our rightful place and they are languishing at a mid-table league 1 club, I will think back to these times and laugh like a fucking drain at every one of these dirty wee turncoat fucks.
-
will this be on tv anywhere does anyone know?
as far as I know, it's not on TV or radio
-
Microwave ovens you say?
true, but what about the colour TV's, will we move them?

To throw my tuppence in, I believe he was booed because he was an ex Hearts player, Ryan McGowan got booed as well.
54% capacity though, what a great turn out, I hope nobody paid at the gate, as they don't count in the final figures.
Then why wasn't Webster, a current Hearts player, booed also? and Berra an ex-Hearts player?
-
Sensationalist bollocks
I usually like your articles Darche, but please dont jump on the offended bandwagon. I hope you send this article to our entire home support the next time Broadfoot is having a mare. He gets much worse than a bit of booing, as has Edu and McCulloch and various other players in our team from our own support.
Fans booing their own players is not a new phenonemon, as you will probably find out if you start supporting the country of your birth.
You have missed the point, the outrage stems not from the fact they were booing but the reason for it. He was being booed purely for being a Rangers player, not because he was having a mare. He hadn't even touched the ball and they were booing. Have you ever seen a Rangers fan booing a Rangers player coming on as a sub? I know I haven't and if I did, I would treat them to the same show of outrage.

Well played guys, btw I hope you got that air-con fixed...i'll be in on Saturday afternoon, am thinking it might be better to bring my Rangers sauna towel just incase it's like it was before the E.Fife game
-
Would love to see him stick one in the net against Serbia then do the Shhhhh gesture to the tartan mob. I will always support the team on the park for Scotland but never the corrupt bastards who run it nor will I ever again, go to a match and sit alongside those fucking bigoted scumbags who disgraced our nation last night, these "fans" purport to love this nation, well i've got news for them....the heroes from our history would turn in their fucking graves if they could see the way they acted last night. Die in a fire ya bunch of bigoted spunkrags!
-
looks like our attendance on Saturday will dwarf the combined gates in the scum league, probably by a fair margin..... having a party when the spl dies
-
"Newco Rangers"
-
I was in before the East Fife game, brilliant atmosphere. My first time in there, used to go to the Hayburn in Partick before games but that got took over and done up, it's no a Rangers shop anymore, must be taigs own it now The New Louden is my new pre-match haunt for sure.
-
The SFA apparently already distributed 35k(ish) to them.
So the media finally report that our attendance is a world record.

The thing that pleases me most is the exposure and wealth these smaller clubs are reaping while the scum league clubs are slowly strangled to death by their financial balance sheets, girfuy SPL, SFL loyal!
