He was putting himself forward to return to rangers, by not putting himself up to return to rangers, talk about spin. He also said rangers have get round the table to sort out the mess with SFA/SPL of which he felt CG was causing the friction by criticising them, that we cannot go on holding grudges against all of scottish football basically.
Also rangers men were needed to run rangers, men who know what rangers are all about. It was all said very placidly offending no one, which tells me, now that CG has done all the dirty work the so called real rangers men should walk back in and he was using the same word as ally today, a word you are probably going to hear a lot now, cleansing the club.

This baggage needs to go and Charles back at the helm ASAP, or the cabal and their apologists have won.

Everything smoothed over, give away the tv rights etc. Don't agree with debt tho, city and shareholders still control purse strings and i can't see CG or imran letting them spend their investment.

Standing down does'nt mean he can't be ceo again, if it is true he may be putting pressure on the remaining board members to perform, its going to be an interesting year. The investors might sell up if they have no trust in the board, and needless to say the shite football is here to stay.

Back to Rangers deserve to be where they are, no a criminal and the corrupt SPL put Rangers where they are, i'am sick of so called Rangers men spouting this pish. Last year they had the chance to show a bit of wisdom and level headedness and handle the whole affair with sporting integrity, but no they could'nt wait to put the boot in and call it sporting integrity.

Although I have made my feelings towards Green clear on this site, as a result of his comments. I remain 100% behind him for the moment; however I think he may not be at our club at the start of next season.
He is the money man, the city will back him on results and he has not done anything wrong money wise or promoting Rangers to make more money, I can only see one winner Charles Green

Cg has to be backed based on the way he has set up Rangers debt free and with a democratic membership of shares. Last year the so called Real Rangers Men were going to use ticketus to fund their takeover thus putting Rangers in debt and the support having to pay back the loans probably having to put up with a shoestring squad and having to accept every action laid against us. To keep Rangers stable we have to back him, he has done ok so far.

I have a feeling that Walter does not operate at this level. We are not operating from a position of strength, we are in the bottom tier and want to get back to the top. Last year ten teams in the SPL voted us out. There will be votes in the future and we must redress that imbalance. Walter by taking the statesman-like route may even have garnered a vote or two in the upcoming reconstruction votes., who knows? However, we need this kind of approach to take the heat out of the situation, while at the same time allowing Green to continue with his agressive marketing activities. The only thing Walter wants from Celtic is an opportunity to crush them on the football field. At least that would be my feeling.
I do understand what your suggesting, and thats how it should be if all clubs were honorable, but after the realities of last year, i want them all fucked, we are in a war and believe me the opposition don't give a flying fuck what anybody from Rangers says or thinks, they need the tv and sponsorship deals that only Rangers can bring to the table, and by reconstruction they will hold Rangers to ransome just like last year and also tie us into a shit tv deal for the next five years.
Rangers as a whole should not make any comments on celtic, that's my opinion.

I'm with the other posters on here who believe that Walter is boxing smart. If we agree with the old adage - ' the sweetest sound to a man is the sound of his name being praised', then we can see Walter's strategy. I don't think for a moment that Walter sees Lennon as anything other than a buffoon and a street ned. Remember too, that not long after we went into administration Lawwell could not contain himself and came out with an article that said his intention was for Celtic to dominate Scottish football for many years. I'm sure Walter hasn't forgotten that. Do any of us remember any one of Walter's teams who did not take the greatest of joy in humping Celtic? Now Charles in the very first game of the season at Brechin galvanized us as a support by coming out with his bigotry speech. At last we had someone prepared to defend us and stand up to the bullies. We had someone in the room that experienced their actions first hand. We'd show them. We rallied round with a fantastic show of support. Charles said that as long as he was CEO we would never play in the SPL again. This was all good stuff and allowed us to channel our anger. Everybody knows that Scottish football is in a mess, and that Rangers need to be in the SPL to start the recovery. At the moment we as a support don't want anything to do with the SPL teams for the most part, and Lawwell, Petrie, Milne and Thomson know they have dug themselves a very deep hole and can't get out of it. They are not big enough to admit they were wrong in voting Rangers out. Charles, our very own junkyard dog, has shocked the hell out of these SPL chairman and they can't be seen to back down to him. A mexican standoff. I don't think for a minute that Walter is trying to appease Celtic, more rather he is extending a concilliatory hand to the rest of Scottish football. He is extending a reasonableness that allows each team to grasp it without losing any ground. I think that we need both Charles - to keep the antagonists at arm's length - and Walter to institute dialogue to allow us to move forward. We shall not forget, but we must move forward, and if it needs to be on parallel fronts then so be it. WATP.
About three years ago Walter Smith gave an full page article on how both Rangers and celtic were working together to get into English football, liewell pulled the rug from under Walter saying " what do mean by us, we don't need you ", that left Smith and rangers looking like arseholes. For once in your life don't be a cunt. But no once a cunt always a cunt.
Celtic reiterated the same recently that they wanted no link to Rangers, because it would soil their name with future sponsors. Well Smith has learned absolutely nothing from three years ago, he has fell right into their hands again, they must be laughing their balls off saying once a cunt always a cunt.

We need CG more than ever after Walter Smiths statements, and it completely blows this legend pish into the weeds. So called stalwarts, i call them the enemy within. The only legends are the fans who continually plough hard earned money into the pockets of these traitors. Walter Smith should be made to stand down after those comments and take the lousy management team with him. Now we have a top business team running rangers, we also need a top management team who actually know about running the football side of the business.

Charles Green only mistake was letting the fannies back in, also not taking full control of Rangers, it might be too late for CG to win this war, and the result will be the boring , bland, toe the line, old pals act bastards will still get a pay cheque from the gullible fans who are clinging on to this legend pish. CG has showed the way forward in how to run a business, what business acumen has any of the previous directors, walter smith, ally mccoist got , clinging to the fans emotions. Rangers need money to fend off all comers and what a performer CG has been, unlike the previous arseholes lapping it up for fuck all as the fans pay the full price.

Right enough all the good Rangers men were lining up to buy us. Say what you like about Green, and maybe he is a baddie, but he put his money where his mouth was.
Most business people are shady at some time or all of the time, and if you lift the lid on most businesses you will find plenty of dodgy dealings, just look at the banks.
Charles Green came in, when we all expected the true blues, the club stalwarts, club legends, but they were no where to be found. Just look at what CG has done to sell rangers over the last year, and even if the blue knights had come in, would they have embarked on a year long big sell, travelling all over the world, no Charles Green has been sensational in putting this club back at the top even if they are a few skeletons in the closet, so what, business is a dirty game just look at the SFA/SPL, daily papers, the media as a whole, now there's a den of thieves.

It just shows you how good a job CG is doing and they will do and say anything to discredit him and force him out of rangers. He is the main block to the SFA/SPL getting everything their own corrupt way. Unfortunately Walter smith has given the impression of a split within the ranks, has a go at one of our own, when he could'nt do it two years ago against Celtic and Lennon, and they were really out of order and has led to Celtic controlling Scottish football and ranger being a laughing stock.
These so called stalwarts sat back and watched rangers sink last year and now they are back in fucking it up again, CG wants to hunt the fucking lot of them, you are either for rangers or fuck off

without reconstruction the SPL probably won't have a tv contract worth talking about, but if they get reconstruction, I'am sure signing up to sky will be part of the deal for all clubs, that's why CG is making comments about leaving Scotland or not signing another sky deal. Just another raw deal rangers would have to accept, not even having a vote on the matter and being the main attraction in getting the SPL sides the biggest slice of the pie.
