The defense is not even the most worrying issue.

We cant create chances. We have lots of possession up the field, but the strikers are always running away from goal.

The defence is the most worrying issue, as even with a lack of creativity we could sneak games 1-0 if the defence could be relied upon. As it stands you are looking at minimum of 2 goals a game to get 3 points as the defence is horrid. We haven't even faced a decent striker yet either.

Fuck off, so youre saying in a perfect world Rangers would play at least half their games with no supporters? Some fan you must be if thats your attitude.

In a perfect world people would get on with supporting Rangers and let other scum clubs come second to that. But some like yourself put their hatred of others before the Club. Thats it, theres no way to spin it, you are putting other Clubs and your issues with them before Rangers and that is NOT the Rangers way,

In a perfect world we'd be able to do this whilst also not financially helping our enemies. But what you suggest is the next best thing IMO

  3. Great news but does anyone think that things will significantly change for the better?

The whole organisation and the way it works is atrocious, just look at the guys in line to replace them.

Quite how an organisation whose only purpose is to be an administrator has got to this point is incredible, needs scrapped.

  4. Stats mean fuck all. At Gleneagles poulter was a man short in the team and wasn't half the player who turned up at medinah.

He is now being overtaken by younger players like Knox, Willet, Sullivan, Pepperrell and Fleetwood etc.

I'm no big fan of poulter, but how can he 'flatter to deceive' with one of the best Ryder cup records ever?

I was at glen eagles, as much as he wasn't at his best he was far from a man down.

There is also the 'intangible' of the influence he has on the team as a whole - his enthusiasm is unrivalled. Probably wouldn't have him in the team next year on current form mind you.

  5. Both Knox and Willet should be in the Ryder Cup ahead of the likes of poulter who flatters to deceive more often than not.

Records of All Players With Minimum 15 Matches Played

    Ian Poulter, Europe, 12-4-2, .722

    Arnold Palmer, USA, 22-8-2, .719

    Luke Donald, Europe, 10-4-1, .700

    Hale Irwin, USA, 13-5-2, .700

    Tom Watson, USA, 10-4-1, .700

    Julius Boros, USA, 9-3-4, .688

    Lee Trevino, USA, 17-7-6, .667

    Gene Littler, USA, 14-5-8, .667

Jose Maria Olazabal, Europe, 18-8-5, .661

  6. He did spend a phenominal amount of money at west ham, the football was fairly awful to watch, his results in the 2nd half of his last season were woeful and his team effectively lay down to any top 4 team.

He's ideal for sunderland though and would be a wise choice for any team looking to stabilise - he just isn't progressive.

  7. Each to their own on whether to support the team or not. I think the closest I came to it was when the SFA were clearly trying to fuck us over, the tartan army were singing about hating Rangers, Rangers players were being booed for representing the country and there were numerous of our former 'traitors' turning out. That was definitely the lowest ebb.

However, after a while I managed to balance it out. Sure the head guys at the SFA are both woeful at their job and actively tried to damage our club, but I didn't start hating rangers because Whyte or Green were in charge, or David Murray was running us with reckless abandon.

Sure I don't like Naismith, Whittaker and McGregor for what they did or any of the Celtic players as a matter of principle, but I didn't like Diouf turning out for us and that didn't stop me supporting Rangers. Hell, I've even played in teams where i dislike some of the players but I didn't start wishing we would lose because of it.

Sure some of the fans are embarrassing and hate Rangers, but plenty aren't. I've set next to folk at Ibrox who you couldn't pay me to spend time with and who's views I have found pretty disgusting, but again I didn't stop supporting Rangers because of it.

I've supported Scotland since I was a wee kid, I find it almost impossible to turn my back on the team just because certain administrators, fans and players are involved - it's about the longer term and the bigger picture for me.

Anyway, I don't particularly disagree with folk choosing not to support the team everyone is entitled to their opinion - just strikes me as odd to continually go on about something you claim to have no interest in.

  8. There's a couple of decent players among them but on the whole I think their squad is pretty awful.

Any team who has to choose two centre backs and your options are Brown, O'Shea, Coates or Kaboul is going to be struggling.

Even if they were allowed to play all 4 they'd be struggling!

The club is rotten, too many players coasting it while taking a big wage. Needs gutted.

  9. Fuck sake, imagine being in a wall where Amoruso and Konterman are queuing up to hit a rolling ball from 10 yards away

Mind you, you were often more in danger in row AA from what I remember of Amo.

There was an interview with him somehwere where he is some kind of minister now, seemed a proper fruit loop but at the same time came across as an absolute gent.

  10. I actually know a few guys like that, always wearing the mhank tops at fives, nothing but sevco this tax cheats that, they should be dead etc but they will freelly admit that they only watch never mind go to 2-3 taig games a year usually champions league games or OF games.

I have tried to talk to them about football the league reconstruction, summer football etc but they don't have a clue.

Boggles my mind lol I can honestly say I haven't watched anything to do with them or read anything about them since before we went down, the only time I even think about them is the run up to an old firm game.

You have to ask what these people would have done with themselves if we had died lol

Aye, I mean I am generalising as there was one guy who was up for a more in depth chat and I had a good conversation than him, but it's probably about 90% of them that I meet that fall into the first category.

Same, I've not watched a top level game in Scotland since we went down to division 3 and take absolutely no interest in Celtic now as they are not a pressing issue for us (yet). Most of what I know about them over the last 3 years I've actually read on here

  11. Something I find very odd is that most celtic fans I meet and talk to have almost nothing more than a skin deep knowledge or interest in football in General.

Case in point, I don't know many Celtic fans but was at a social event recently where there was a lot of them. I tried to avoid football as a topic of conversation but eventually the 'Sevco' chat started - I have given up trying to educate people on the facts of this as they simply won't listen so instead steered the conversation round to talk of actual football - how I thought Celtic had a good model for buying cheap and getting good fees for players after a couple of years, and that outside the elite clubs it is the only model that would work in future. I also tried to talk about the national team and the style of play Strachan has implemented etc.

All I got back was blank looks and the odd grunt, none of them had anything of value to add or even seemed to have the most basic understanding of football as a whole - they were just entirely consumed with the small minded hatred of us.

  12. The thread about Gazza on Clare Balding's show reminded me, after Al Capone claiming he could turn her back, that she looks like Colin Hendry.

I then thought about what we'd give for a Colin Hendry now, when previously he was DMurray's personal patriotic indulgence that Advocaat never really wanted.

It seems ironic that we wasted resources over-filling a squad, only to be penny-pinching a few short years later.

Colin Hendry seems to be quite a symbolic figure for Murray's wasteful mismanagement of our former riches and it seems apt that he was signed during that wasteful Advocaat era.

Nonetheless, what we'd give to have a reliable, no nonsense defender these days. McGregor may be our best defender now, but he's just nowhere near what Hendry, a then surplus reserve to Advoacaat, was.

Perhaps recent boardroom changes- improvements to my mind- will see some degree of reclaiming our former quality.

Anyway, I hope things are going better for the big man, whose had his own problems over the years. He was never given a proper chance to show what his contribution to our cause would have been, but he always seemed a decent, honest pro.

Surely more cause and effect than Ironic? :P Although I know what you mean.

Yeah, all those peripheral squad players from that era would walk into the team now - symptomatic of a general decline in quality of Scottish Football and of us specifically.

  13. just threw him in there as a recognisable name, and I do believe he is a step up from jig/moshni etc

If we are just going to list players based on whether they are better than Jig and Mosnhi we'll crash the server ;)
