  1. Good Luck Boydy, you've been amazing for us.

Now we will see if the rest of the lads can chip in with goals, instead of feeding Boydy :) I'm really looking forward to the new season, even though it'll be a hard job replacing Boydy's goals.

On the plus side, we'll play in a slightly different style, if the new frontman is more mobile than Boyd. Looking forward to it :)

  2. Big year for a lot of our players.

We'll now play a slightly different style of football, that Boydy isn't going to be with us.

On one hand, we don't have a guarenteed 25 goals per season player now.

On the second hand, Naismith/Lafferty/Fleck/Shinnie/Loy have got big seasons ahead of them.

We'll also need more goals from midfield this season - fuck the world cup, lets get the new season started ! haha, i'm sooo lookin forward to the new season :)

  3. You'd be crazy to let Bougherra go for £4 million!

    being realistic...

Realistically we should be aiming for £5 million + , and if he has a good WC then...

In a ideal situation it would be, but we have seen with Adam and £300k for Naismith touted. We really ain't in a ideal situation.

fair point, Bougherra only started 22 out of a possible 55 games for us this season.

  4. Well I would throw names into the hat like Liam Ridgwell, Mario Melchiot and Marlon Harewood on Bosmans, and maybe a goalscoring midfielder like Darren Ambrose who we could get on the cheap because Crystal Palace are f*cked, but realistically none of us have the slightest idea what any of these players are paid and if we can afford them.

Similarly the likelihood is that if any Premiership or even big Championship side show an interest they will blow us out of the water in terms of wages.

As for our out of contract players, there are none I would offer a new deal too outwith Boyd who clearly doesnt want to stay anyway in my opinion. I also think we'll see a few loan signings brought in during the summer.

    too true.

Leeds & Norwich will want to stregthen for their Championship season next year.

Pompey, Hull & Burnley may have to sell higher earners and bring in the likes of Ambrose.

Walter will have to be pretty persuasive in this transfer market for us to gain the calibre of player that we expect.

  5. It was good to see two of our signing targets come to the fore in an important Cup Final today :)

I'm coming around to the idea of Conway, Goodwillie & Goncalves.

If we brought in Goncalves I'd hope we wouldn't offer him over the odds wages.

I thought he was on £8k at Hearts, but a couple of Jambo mates said he was getting £14k from them. He's only worth half of that, if that, in my opinion.

  6. Afraid not mate, I don't think that there is less pressure at these other clubs. Take next season for example, the Championship will have 5 cracking additions - (in terms of Championship class) Hull, Burnley, Pompey, Leeds and Norwich will be there to compete in one of the most competitve leagues around.

Nottm Forest finished 9 points clear of Blackpool this season, yet due to the playoff's Blackpool may end up being the final promoted team. A bit harsh on Forest over the course of the season, but hey, they couldn't get past Cardiff in two legs, and knew the format at start of season. So spose every club knows the crack.

  7. speculation is an amusing thing. i would never listen to anything that idiot commentator was saying anyways. Coiety may very well have been on a scouting trip, but that commentator clown wouldn't be privvied to that type of info, he was clueless all game long.

oh debeasleys coming on, flecks been quiet for 10mins now.

(after he'd been moved fae attack to cm when thommo went off concussed)

aye mate, he's been quieter in an attackin sense cos he's not upfront, and the balls bypassing him in midfield. commentator was clueless haha
