  1. Making something out of nothing. Securing the best future just means going if someone offers more money. Scottish clubs can’t compete with the money down South. The nature of the beast was a very pertinent part of the quote. Selective quoting and misinterpretation is never a good recipe.

That's all in hope rather than realistic expectation. What happens if that doesn't happen and we continue to go on like a rudderless ship?

well Partick don't have a 60k stadium with 40k ST holders so of course that wouldn't be sustainable. That's not really adding anything to the above.

A team who are banking 30 million are going to waltz this league for the foreseeable until they don't get CL money but by that time they have already banked 70 odd million (so far) while their closest rivals only have ST revenue to cling to. That's a gulf we have never seen before in the history of Scottish football so you cannot look at the past and compare because it's simply not the same anymore.

It won’t be easy or happen in the short term but it’s the only hope I’ve got. Your scenario, while entirely possible, is difficult to accept and a one team league will eventually self destruct as there will be no support or marketability.

I might not be here to see it but I’ll keep hanging on and look for gradual improvements instead of just throwing in the towel as it’s not going our way just now.

It changed before because of money. There is no longer money in Scottish football. The only carrot is CL football which only 1 club has a chance of.

that cycle you speak of is no longer relevant because football is in a different place and only £ dictates who finishes first.

i don't see how we get back to number 1 when the levels of finance are so vast. Please explain how that is overturned?

It will change because celtic will make mistakes in the transfer window. They’ll lose good players to England and, due to the weaknesses in our league, won’t attract quality replacements. They’ll get injuries and field understrength teams. They’ll get lazy and, like we once did, expect to just turn up to win. It’s already happening this season when you look at the points they’ve dropped.

We have to be able to take advantage though and when we do, things will slowly start to turn round again.

Someone could give Partick Thistle £30M and they’d be title contenders in the short term but that’s not sustainable over time.

  4. Superiority in this league between us and celtic  has always been fairly cyclic. Over the piece, we’ve had the best of it but they are currently lording it just now.

It will change but we’ve (and they’ve) always had a significant number of fans who are only there for the reflected glory during the good times as it gives them something to feel good about themselves.

We’ll be back in time and they’ll come flooding back celebrating like they’ve never been away. It’s upsetting and frustrating but it makes sport what it is and is better to develop strength ove time instead of just buying short lived success.

  5. Definitely got potential but needs to gat more disciplined and stop the elbows and kicking out. Goes down far too easily too which means referees overlook definite fouls for fear of being conned and makes him more frustrated and angry.

He's young though and once he learns to take that extra half second to pick his spot and gets a bit more support, the goals should come in this league anyway. I'm still not convinced he's earned all of the praise he's getting.

  6. Tried his best but couldn't get the team to play as a unit and, latterly, lack of on field discipline cost us dearly.

Results are the be all and end all and just weren't good enough.

Hope this isn't the end for him and he gets another role elsewhere.
