Doesn’t matter if we would have been contenders or not.

Rangers have never won league tittle when celtic weren’t involved.

celtic have won 4 in our enforced abscence, and incidentally they were part of the enforcers!

One year wasn’t enforced. It was of our own doing.

If the situation was reversed, I don’t think too many of us would be playing down the achievement and the record books would endorse the fact. It’s a bit early to be clutching at straws. There’s a lot of football to be played before we’re even close to that situation.

Not really. Whilst they were guff they were still there, they just couldnt put up a decent challenge. They had a chance to compete and failed.

We weren't afforded the opportunity to fail to compete as we weren't in the League, hence my thinking.

I don’t support that view but in any case it would be hard to argue that we would have been title contenders given that it took two attempts to get out of the Championship.

If they do get 10 in a row, and there’s more than us with the potential to stop them given their decline over the last two seasons, then it will make the England 66 ongoing borefest feel like a brief news flash!

  3. It’s a terrible way to go and has a heavy impact on family and friends too. His recent posts and the comments here show that he faced up to the situation and decided when to go on his own terms. I can only hope I would be so brave. Condolences and best wishes to those that knew him and helped him through his pain.

    RIP.

  4. That’s a good article. I can’t see any reason to be so upset about a literate, intelligent Rangers fan producing positive articles about us in a national newspaper. It makes a change from all the complaints about the plethora of negative, biased articles.

All power to The Dude’s pen and I hope the team give him many more reasons to produce positive articles.

He won't make it in the EPL I think he would struggle in the Championship the Spl his level for a few years till he improves his alround game.

I don’t think he will either. He’s fundamentally not good enough and doesn’t show the scope for the necessary improvement. However, he thinks he is and and seems to expect a top club to come calling. The Chinese leagues don’t match his personal ambition.

You have evidence somebody was buying him?

We can't afford to wait over the next season or so to see if he develops. He is not quality. He is a bottle merchant in front of goal with no composure and the temprement of a taig on crack. He's not getting better, he!s getting fucking worse.

I can’t see where I said somebody was buying him. I also can’t see your point, but that’s not unusual.

However, it was widely reported the Chinese club had put bids in and nobody from either club denied it.

  7. If we had sold him and lost today then that would be trotted out as the reason why. I’m far from convinced about Morelos but a large proportion of supporters are and wanted him kept and the team built around him. They got their wish and now have to wait and see if he develops over the next season or so or if being strong in the tackle and being able to hold up play are the limits of his ability.

I doubt we’ll be attracting any significant bids in the next window.
