FFS - give him time. Whatever his background he chose us, The Rangers.

He's one of our players now - give him the support he deserves!

Exactly , as others have stated , not everyone finds their feet straight away when coming to a club of our size . He has also been unlucky with the way the fixtures have been ,with being cup-tied (same applies to King)  I don't expect to see the best of him until next season ,when his pace and ability to run with the ball will frighten other sides .

As for where his da sits at Hampden ?  At least it leaves another seat for a Bear . Not an issue as far as I see .

I'll always have time for guys like Andy Little. Maybe not the greatest player we had but he gave his all for our club, at a time when we were at our lowest ebb

One of a number of "what might have beens"  A player with plenty of pace and a fair scoring record ,who in my mind should have been our main striker in the bottom leagues, instead was played out wide to accommodate signings that we should never have needed, to win those divisions . We'll never know if he would've flourished under MW like Wallace, McKay , or even Sheils but to me the decision to let him go in order to free up space for last seasons signings summed up all that was wrong with our approach to getting back to the top.

Will always be welcome back at Ibrox , and you can't say that about too many who were here at the start of the journey.

i saw him play at love st for feyenoord against st mirren in 83,. Was a uefa cup tie and gullit was also playing

We played a midweek friendly in january 84 , a 3:3 draw . I'm sure that JC was the main attraction even though he would've been 36 or so . Never realised about Gullit until a few years later . That was the game RG spoke about when he picked out Davie Cooper for his dream team ! TBH can't remember Coop being any different to usual that night , so just shows how much we sometimes undervalue our own . The official crowd that night was given as. 16 900. :7325:

My dad said he was one of the best opposition players he'd ever seen at Ibrox. Scored in both legs against us in the 1973 European Super Cup.

I'm sure he also played in a friendly for Feyenoord alongside ruud gullit at Ibrox in 83 or 84 .

Was the player everyone wanted to be when playing with your mates , growing up in the 70's . Top class player in some excellent teams , so good he got to wear a strip unique to him when playing for Holland.

Just would have been nice to have been asked if we wanted this multi cultural multi ethnic society. Can only see this turning into a fucking disaster when the minorities get a foothold in all the top jobs in the councils, unions, law society and the news and media outlets which they will use as vehicles for there own agenda.

doh Nah mate , us big bad bigoted sectarian proddies would never allow any immigrant minorities to achieve any positions of power or influence .

I thought they didn't really seriously start any redevelopment until the 80's. The only thing I remember happening in the 70's was they turned the goven stand into the centenary by putting benches in it.

Still, I didn't go too often during the 80's, but I was there at nearly every home game during the 70's and can't remember anything much happening.

The old Copland road terrace was demolished just after the treble was won in '78 . The next seasons old firm games were played at Hampden , but the big european cup games were all played at a 3 sided Ibrox and the atmosphere was still unreal , especially against juventus .

Still gives me a buzz standing on Edmiston drive looking at the Main stand .

Done that trip as well, think we stayed in Augsburg the night before the me, then in Oktoberfest  for inopening time the morning of the game, remember we were made to buy German sausage and sourcrout before we started on the Steins, a good move with hindsight !!

The beer festival was mad , hundreds of bears stoating about from tent to tent , wearing Rangers tops & t-shirts in the freezing cold rain . We kept getting moved as the tables were all booked for german workers on their lunch breaks ! I remember boys getting up on the stage in the middle of one of them & showing the oompah band how to play follow follow & the sash . Also all the wee old women who were carrying a couple of steins in each hand , and we could hardly lift the fuckers from the table to our lips .The chicken & sausage was probably the only solid food I had all week .Going to germany the always seemed to bring out the best in the Rangers support at that time , what with all the army boys as well . Cologne and Moenchengladbach the previous couple of years were good trips , with bears dotted all over the home area's .

Look forward to taking my son to european trips in the near future ,though he probably wont want a boring old cunt cramping his style !

  8. A monday to friday bus journey to Munich in '89 for the return leg v Bayern when we were 3:1 down from the Ibrox leg , should've been a nightmare but turned out to be a laugh .

We stopped off at a service station in Germany that was full of german troops , vehicles , tank transporters the lot . Quite an impressive display considering the cold war was still a factor at the time . One of our guys had done his national service in germany so was over talking to the soldiers whilst most of us went for a pish or grabbed some food . About 2-3 hours later we were on the outskirts of Stuttgart when the guys mate informed the bus steward that he couldn't find his mate . He had been too busy swallying that he hadn't noticed him missing before . We stayed overnight in stuttgart , sleeping rough basically because the bus drivers bullshitted us that they had to go to a special parking area for the busses.

After a day of drinking at the famous munich oktoberfest we were a pretty bedraggled mob as we rolled up to the Olympic stadium , there we bumped into the guy who got left behind . Turned out he had came out the toilets to see the back of the bus turning onto the autobahn . The german troops he had spoke to had a wee whipround and got him a lift straight to munich on a bus full of turkish workers , and once there he was sorted out with a b&b . So while we were lying about a shopping mal l in  stuttgart he was having a hot shower & meal in munich payed for by the German army .

Back home on the Friday afternoon , bath , bed then up on the saturday to watch us at Ibrox beating hearts 1:0 . Happy days , but no the type of journey to be done sober !

LW and KM are the leaders in that dressing room..

I always thought he was a jambo too , won't stop him becoming a Rangers Legend in the future though .

Just like the Greatest Ranger .

I was trying to think if Tony Vidmar ever scored for us against the mhanks?

I don't remember, but if he did, it would be the Carlsberg of shite players to score for us. (sorry Tony, I did like you, honest)

Think the carlsberg moment would've been the Filip Sebo chance going in , when we humped them at Ibrox (2007, i think) Always remember the ground echoing to the "Sebo's on ,were taking the piss" chants .

Big man was a trier , but unfortunately not cut out for a Blue jersey .

Very true. How anyone can think that holding your scarf high is a tim thing is beyond me. Rangers fans did this all the time and the effect is magical. Everyone to their own as long as you support the team.

To my mind we only started the scarf twirling as a kind of piss take to the hearts fans who used to do this in the old shed at tynecastle , early to mid 80's . We had to amuse ourselves some way to take the focus away from some of the shit we were watching . Might be wrong though I cant remember it before then , wasn't too sober in those days either .:21::wink:

Nae Bother Da, I am sure I learned to swirl my scarf from guys your age........you know my Da, uncle etc..etc.......  You carry on holding your scarf the same way tims do, you must have taught them that way, cause I wasnt taught that way wae any 55 year old in Ibrox.

Check out footage of an old firm game at Ibrox "76 or 77 i think , we were 2-1 up , bid DJ scored 2 , and the Rangers end is in full voice singing No Surrender to the tune of Amazing grace when unfortunately that big cunt aitken scores . It's a bit like when Ricksen silenced them .

Must have been a lot of tims in the Rangers end that day wearing Red , White & Blue !

  13. They were one of those things that were always launched at a low price then it increased at the same time as its availability in the shops decreased . I had a few of those , I also have about 70 or 80 of the boxing ones that came out later , they had a vhs tape with the mag . They are all up in the loft until I win the lottery and get them converted to dvd . Or might just search you tube for them .

Hat off to anyone who ever managed to collect the full set as they usually run for about 2 years !

If your quick you should get a ticket mate. After all the priority tickets have been allocated then ST holders will get a chance. Might require camping out for a few days tho. Cause the Q at the TO will be massive when they go on sale to ST. Really deepens how bad you want a ticket

Aye mate , will wait and see . Don't see the need to panic about it the now though . As for the camping out , fuck that , tried that in '87 for tickets to the title winning game at pittodrie , fucking freezing and then some security guy came down the line , stopped about a dozen places in front of us and then told us that anyone after that was out of luck ! Was gutted and stayed queuing in the hope he couldnae count . Cunt was right though ! Probably will feel a bit different closer to the game or when i try to get through on the phone . Hope they don't still play that andy cameron shite while your on hold , a knockback after listening to that could push you over the edge . As long as the place is bouncing with bears I'll be happy .

  15. Got a couple of season tickets in the family section . Not on the CCCS , but attend the non ST matches . Would love to get tickets for this but if not thats just the way it goes . As long as a Bear is in the seat supporting the team for the full game that'll do for me . As i said before you wont please everyone .

It does seem fairer but I don't remember it happening for the LC semi against them so it might be that it has changed, yes.

Aye , I think so , even though it worked against me that time . Managed to get a spare from another source and Jelavic scored the winner so all was good . Never going to keep everyone happy though .

  17. 2 minutes ago, Spectre said:

Might be fair but it comes up every time and it simply doesn't work like that, after CCCS and supporters clubs it will be every season ticket holder for themself

When we played them in the 2011 league cup final they gave priority to people who went to the semi v motherwell (season ticket holders)  I had an adult & 3 kids season tickets but only one of the kids went to the semi so only was allowed 1 + 1 for the final . Things may have changed since though .

We won't be favourites, but we'll be in with a great shout.

We need to avoid injuries to everyone except O'H and King, and we need to get Waghorn back fit. If we can do that, we'll have a great chance.

And we shouldn't have at this stage in the MW revolution. That's the great thing about it. We're ahead of where we should be, and they're falling back.

This . If we take the chances we will undoubtedly create then we should have nothing to fear .

We are well ahead of where we all thought we would be and I hope we all remember this and don't fall for it when the msm start trying to set the agenda that this is a season defining game . Our priority has always been promotion this season , to do so in the style we are is a dream . Any cup success is a bonus and should be treated as such . The semi final shouldbe treated the same as the previous games against top league sides , one -off , and of no great importance as to wither the season is a success or no .

Saying that it will be even sweeter gubbing they cunts on the way to the final . :7325::7326::ulster:

  19. Never really rated Bartram , always preferred Stuart Munro or Bomber who iirc signed at the same time as Bartram . Looking back , Souness never rated any of them as he kept signing left backs , Jimmy Phillips , Tom Cowan and Chris Vinnicombe and none of them could hold down that position . 87/88 was a huge anti climax after the season before , so i'm sure a few of us have erased memories of it , especially when we remember the following 9 seasons.

  20. I'm sure the ref yesterday was relying on the 4th official for help with some decisions , check his reaction to Hallidays goal (the Broomloan camera gives a good angle) also some throw ins & goal kicks he seemed to take his time before making the decision . A few of rugby's rules could be adapted to football , time keeping and refs explaining decisions for example .
