  1. I don't think Gattuso can be counted as being underrated. He was bought as a promising youngster and looked decent when he played but he wasn't anywhere near the player he is now. When he played for us did anybody see him and think they were watching a Champions League and World Cup winner in the making? I don't remember there being a huge uproar and people returning their season tickets when he was sold. There's a difference between a player who has left and improved to one who did well while he was here but not appreciated. Tugay perfect example of an underrated player. He just didn't get enough starts as we had a really strong midfield at the time with him, GVB, Barry, Albertz and Reyna.
  2. At 22 he's not going to be signing as a first team player. I would imagine we'll start next season with Ugo and Webster as first picks for the centre of defence and the Svensson as first back up to that but we'll need more than just the 3 centre halves. Do you think we might e targetting all these Scottish players (something Celtic are doing too) in case UEFA decide to introduce a limit on foreign players again?
  3. We should get past Tel-Aviv. Can't remember who we drew for the next round. If we can progress to the last 8 then that's positive. It will depend how the draw goes at that point. The most important thing is to finish 2nd in the league though and try to get closer to Celtic. Let them know they won't have it all their own way next year.
  4. We should take Beckham and Ronaldo (fat one) on loan until the end of the season. I reckon they could do a job. Beckham could help Burkey with his delivery and Ronaldo could show Boyd how to be a truly great centre forward without needing to do any real work to help out the team in other areas.
  5. "For years he has been living off his promise from 6 years ago but hasn't really moved on. Until he got his goal I would seriously have thought of hooking him - his attitude was shocking did not look interested and constantly tried to shirk his responsibility at marking players by accusing his team mates of losing them." Are you taking the piss? 6 Years ago? He played 1 game in the 2001-02 season.
  6. Think it's unfair to pick out Hutton from this game. Both centre halfs were shocking. Hutton had a central midfielder, Rae, playing ahead of him and this meant he had to push on to provide width, which he did. Murray has been thrown back in too quickly because of Smith's injury and Papac's inability to play football. He's not match fit yet. Why not start with Rae and Barry in the centre and Burke on the right? Drop Hemdani as he's pish as centre half and him and Barry together in central midfield is too negative against a team like Dunfermline.
  7. I don't think we'll be winning too much with a team of 11 Scots. Bear in mind that Scotland aren't any great shakes, notwithstanding good results recently. Also, we wouldn't have some of Scotland's best players such as Gordon, Fletcher, McFadden, Miller and of course, Christian Dailly.
  8. Got to be Scotland first. You're born Scottish. It's like choosing family over friends.
  9. If it's the case that players at the club are drinking too much and turning up for training with a hangover, somebody needs to point out to them that the career as a footballer is a very short one with massive financial rewards. Once they've finished they can drink themselves to death if they like. Their short careers will be even shorter if they don't look after their health. It's not the same as walking into the office on a Monday with a bit of a sore head. They've also got to realise the players famous for enjoying a drink in the past like Best, Gascoigne etc, had 100x their talent. That's why they could get away with it, to a point. How old was Best when he retired?
  10. If he was that good surely he'd be in the Hibs first team by now. Have you seen that clown they've got playing in goals at the moment?
  11. I don't have a problem with signing players from smaller clubs like Falkirk, however Gow would not be a good player for Rangers, regardless of how many man of the match awards he's won. Watch him play a match and make your mind up rather than taking the word of the sponsors. Dica is an unrealistic target. If he moves to Britain it will be a Premiership club where he can earn much more money. We should also think about shopping around the Championship. If you look hard enough you can find good players that won't cost too much. A lot of Premiership clubs do this successfully.
  12. Looks like Webster is a done deal on loan. On top of that Thomson and and Brown look like they could be coming too. Think that would be a good start but if we added Russel Anderson and Stevie Naismith to that I think it would give us a team/squad that could easily finish 2nd. Anderson would be a great partner for Webster in much the same way as Pressley was as he is a good organiser and very experienced in the SPL. Only thing is that Aberdeen are also gunning for 2nd place which would make them reluctant to let him leave for us or at all. Naismith is a fantastic wee player and I reckon after a few seasons with us, playing in Europe, could easily get a big money move to the English Premiership. Very good option as back up for Prso who can't play every week any more. I think with Clement being chased for so long by PLG ad him essential being "his" player, who came from his last club, he'll be away either this month or at the end of the season, whether he follows PLG wherever he ends up or goes elsewhere in France. From interviews he's given it sounds like the move to Gers was just so he could get a game, which he wasn't at Lyon, and a decent wage until a big English team came in for him. Finally, please don't sign Gow. Even as bad as we are now, he is not good enough to pull on the Rangers jersey.
