  1. Same mate, I love seeing Scottish teams do well and can't wait for the cup final... It's a breath of fresh air. It'll be great to see how an Edinburgh cup final compares to a Glasgow one. It has to be said though after everything that's went on, I can't support the national team for a long time as much as it feels wrong...
  2. Fair enough I'll agree with that but you still don't see many Union Jacks do you? The fact of the matter is outside Ulstter and Scotland no one gives a shit, or knows anything about the troubles or the rivalry. And they don't want us! I'm well aware it will never happen, but I really wish people would stop going on about moving to England. It's a bad move and regardless of what's going on up here with the SFA/SPL etc... It's a defeatist attitude to just say oh fuck it let's go play down the road, id rather stay where we are and start lifting titles again and sticking it to these bastards!!!
  3. You raised some good points, but to say our current squad could compete in England is ridiculous. And as for you're point on the English would love us because we fly union flags etc... I lived in England for years and the majority don't give a shit about the Union. And view us as fascists. Whereas they view Celtic as piece loving Guinness drinkers. Also at most premier league games I watch there are Irish tricolours flying in some area of the stadium.
  4. I personally don't see any good coming from moving down south. We would be absolutely detested were ever we went and would never be accepted. You think we are discriminated against up here? the media and police would hound us 24/7 in England. And the truth of the matter is our current team isn't good enough to compete in any division down south. people can argue that our huge fanbase and the extra money would sky rocket us into the premiership. But in all honesty you're looking at a time frame of 20+ year's. And that's ignoring the possibility of being relegated at any point or failed play off attempts. I mean we could end up stuck in the championship for 10 years as a mid table team. And if the miracle happened and we made it to the promise land. Can any of you realistically see us lifting the trophy? Or better still qualifying for Europe? We are respected world wide as the number 1 team in Scotland and for our achievements in Europe. I think it would be ridiculous to throw all that away to chase an impossible dream in England.
  5. It's a shame, they have some great team GB gear
  6. Couldn't agree more mate, but the youths in this country wouldn't appreciate free football tops and are in general spoild rotten. Also they don't have the right attitude when it comes to making it as a football player.
  7. It's shocking how cheap it is to run, all it takes is a few Rangers coaches with the facilities to train players. And a lot of charitable Rangers fans. As you say there's lots of football charities over there doing this kind of thing. But to have something exclusive to Rangers would only be a bonus. And like you said even if one player makes it its all worth while
  8. Personally I would start in places like. Ghana, Cameroon or the Ivory Coast as they seem to produce the best players. Work permits would only be an issue with the select few that were good enough.
  9. I was on earlier and someone was saying about sending old Rangers shirts to underprivileged kids in Africa. And I thought it was a great idea and a good way of increasing the fanbase. But it got me thinking, we all know there's a lot of young talent in Africa. I know the club isn't really in the position right now. But I think it would be a great idea in the future to set up a football school over there and try and get tabs on the good player's. It starts of with lots of free Rangers gear and the chance for them to play football and learn English etc... You could show them old DVD'S and teach them the history of the club. Maybe bring them over annually to watch the first team in action and play against the youth team's. And if and when there good enough they can join them at murray park. It might sound like I'm living in a dream world and the reality is it most likely would never happen. But it would be a good move and would increase our chances of unearthing good player's. And overall would be very rewarding for everyone involved. Would you welcome it?
  10. Some good teams on here, the only thing that worries me is the amount of times Whittaker appears at RB haha.
  11. Who gives a fuck? My mums partner is a Sheffield United fan and has nothing but admiration and respect for the Rangers. I took him to Ibrox a few years back and he was in awe of the place and the history... I don't really want to be everyone's friend, if people don't like us fair enough! If people have nice things to say about us then brilliant. Just because a few fans from a club say something dosn't mean their entire fan base feel the same way. All I really care about is Rangers. I've never supported anyone else, not even as a child! and the gods honest truth is I don't even have a soft spot for anyone else. I have so much love for my club its impossible to give anything to any other.
  12. Davis is far to overrated and inconsistent and in my opinion is a terrible choice for a captain. He plays one good game then does nothing for weeks/months and when the shit hits the fan and were under pressure he hides. It's at times like that you want you're captain to step up and he simply doesn't.
  13. Well said mate I've said from day one of administration that this could be the best thing ever to happen at Rangers. We had been living outside our means for to long, and in truth we was going nowhere! The quality of football has been declining for years, and the fans mentality and expectations remained the same. I hope to god that we turn to the youth and can accept that its going to tough. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel... I'm quite willing to loose a few bits of silverware over the next few years, so that in the long run we can be debt free and start to rebuild for the future generations. Rangers fans can never go through this again!!!
  14. The very thought of that gives me goosebumps, judging by this thread it won't happen until we change the lyrics to something about sunshine and rainbows lol.
  15. Historically maybe, but there's been a few Celtic fans jumped outta the closet since February haha
  16. I understand where you're coming from mate, but I also think its important to have a few chants with a bit of venom against you're biggest rivals! And this particular one ticks that box and looks and sounds cracking when in full swing. The whole subject of songs is a tricky one. The majority of fans obviously don't want to see the club hurt with fines etc... But I honestly don't think we as fans have pushed or fought hard enough for our freedom to sing our songs. I might be a dreamer, but I believe that if TBB for example was getting belted out every week. The authorities would eventually just cave in and leave us alone, accepting it was a loosing battle... It's mostly scare mongering in an attempt to silence both halves of the divide, and its plain to see its worked on the majority of us.
  17. If that's the case, we'll need to tell everyone to refrain from swearing or showing negative emotions if something goes wrong on the pitch. Children have minds like sponge's
  18. So we should sit in silence and applaud every now and then? If I wanted to do that I would follow snooker! I just think its important to make Ibrox as loud and intimidating for away teams as possible, the way it used to be... No?
  19. Good point mate, The funny thing is people are saying about changing the words to make it more Rangers related so everyone can join in. But I struggle to remember the last time I heard Ibrox rocking to a so called Rangers song. Thank god for BF1
  20. Spot on mate Next our fans will be scared to wear a Rangers shirt for fear of offending rival fans. It's amazing how soft everyone has went don't you all realise this is what they want? Rangers fans silenced because they don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Fuck sake banter with rival fans is the best or should I say USED to be the best thing about going to the football.
  21. I can relate to that mate, it used to make me so home sick watching games on TV being 400 miles away from home. But every now and then you'd get a bear saying nice top wee man and you just realized were everywhere lol.
