  1. Venturing into this thread for the first time.....

Thoughts on the big stories from last night.....

    - I like Wentz a lot. If Philly keep to the plan and sit him for 2/3 years behind Bradford/Daniel then he will be a real star.

    - Dallas....I hated the Ezekiel Elliot pick at first. They've spent all last season talking about how running backs are a dime-a-dozen and then they go and spend the 4th overall pick on him. Too high for a RB in my humble opinion. However the pick is growing on me. Undoubtedly an insane talent running behind that line. 2014 all over again? We saw in 2014 how much a sustained rushing attack with a high time of possession can help out your defense. I think they're going to trade up for Myles Jack - steal of the draft if that knee holds up (will it? must be fucking dust if all these teams have passed on him)

    - Jags are HUGE winners with Dallas talking Elliot. Ramsey consensus best corner by a long way.

    - Giants....WTF?

    - Dolphins - Tunsil is a fucking STEAL. Half the league smokes weed, he won't be stupid enough to get caught. They look good next year

    - Broncos, not sure at all what to make of Paxton Lynch.  Decent athlete, mobile, will fit in well to Kubiak's bootleg offense. He'll start before the end of the season when Sanchez makes a rip-roaring arse of it and throws more interceptions at key times (probably after managing the game well for 3 and a half quarters)

    - And my own team....Packers. zzzzzzzzzzzzz.  Another vanilla first round pick. A reach for a defensive tackle who was the 3rd DT on most people's analyst's draft boards. Ted has a pretty poor record with first round linemen so Packer fans are understandably underwhelmed.  Biggest criticism seems to be arm length and playing mostly against weaker opposition.  Some see him as undersized for a 3-4 NT. Can't comment, I have seen absolutely nothing of him. I'll trust Ted but we absolutely NEED to address ILB in the next round. I'd be well up for taking the risk to trade up for Jack (can you tell I'm high on him).

Looking forward to tonight, hopefully stay awake more than 15 picks this time :pipe:

  2. A national final will never be based on average league attendance. Whether right or wrong, that's just fact. Can't be seen to favour the big teams.

That said, I would bring in a rule for next season - make it abundantly clear from the outset that if you don't sell your semi final allocation, you won't get more tickets for the final. So if Hivs only sold 13,000 for the semi, that's their whack for the final.

At worst it would stop our half full semi finals looking a fucking laughing stock on national TV. You'd definitely still get glory hunters going, but might stop wee Auntie Jeannie just coming along for a day out on May 21st.

Every team has peaks and troughs over the course of a season.  We've peaked at the right time, and troughed at the right time.  I'm sure the players would like to go out there and win every game but that's unrealistic.  We as a support can afford to give them a little slack because they've turned up when it matters and I'm sure they will again for the Cup final.  This team was put together quickly and has exceeded all expectations.  Let's win the Scottish Cup and look forward to an exciting summer of transfer action.  Don't get to downbeat of a few bad results at the arse end of an already successful league campaign.

Take Hibs for example.  Hit a peak last year and won 14 out of 15 games.  Then troughed after January which fucked their league challenge.  They seem to be hitting another peak now but it might be too late to save their promotion hopes.  They'll go in to that Cup final exchausted while we be ready and prepared just like Zenit.

I actually do agree with you to an extent.  We can't win every game.  What I find disappointing is the "don't care doesn't matter" attitude.

I am thankful for what the manager and the team have done this year.  Could not ask for more.

  4. ... I'm guessing are the folk who aren't travelling 2/3/4 + hours on a freezing cold Tuesday night to go and watch it.

I'm not in any way trying to detract from what has been a great season.  Come May 21st it could be a truly magnificent season, but to say that these games don't matter just doesn't sit with me.

Okay,  in the grand scheme of things, it won't change anything come the end of the season.  But the team look like they've given up.  There were 3-4,000 Bears there tonight who haven't given up.  The team owe it to them to be putting in a better performance than that. Those who are still travelling to these "meaningless" games deserve better.

Let's close out the season in style against St Mirren on Sunday.  Put on a show for the supporters who have followed the team up and down the country this season.   Get the momentum on our side for a huge game in a few weeks time.

Does anyone have any idea why it pops up "You have not signed up for the required schemes to qualify for the product SEMI-FINAL & FINALS 16/17. The seat that failed this validation is ENCSE4 N 0101" when trying to tick box for finals?

You have to sign up to "All non season ticket home matches" to get Semi Finals / Finals.

Have to take all the cup games.
