  1. I never once mentioned perfect. No-one is.

It's a matter of opinion the benefits of having legends around for the sake of it. I'd rather have the most qualified people for each and every role, personally.

i take your point but football isn't just a business. I want people who care about our club involved in the running of the club wherever and whenever possible.

  2. Dunno what the job entails, but clubs around the world make sure that they give similar roles to certain club stalwarts. They know it's important to have these guys around to help link a club to it's history.

It's fundamentally a good idea to have people like Richard Gough and John Greig involved in the club. It sounds to me like it could be some sort of honorary role that allows Gough to continue to be involved with the club. But it's also fair to expect to know whether it's a structured and defined role, what his responsibilities are and if/what he gets paid for it.

But yeah, it's good to have these guys around the club. Apart from his relationship with King, Gough is more than qualified to be one of those guys. His friendship with King makes it all the more likely that he would be involved in some way. However, some sort of reward system re the boycott sounds off the mark to me. I think Gough would have done whatever King said he thought was the right thing for the club. I don't think any weird, mafia like reward system would have been necessary to encourage Gough to speak out or to reward for it. I think the two things are more than likely unrelated, but convenient, or easy, to put together.

Best post in this entire thread mate. (tu) You have the situation well summed up. :pipe:

  3. We need a Mark Hateley type of forward. Someone to bully the opposition and bring others into the game by holding the ball up and flicking on headers for his strike partner as well as bagging his share of goals etc to offer us a plan B when plan A isn't working.

Where do we find a player in Marks mould is the problem.

.Hopefully MW can pluck a player like that from England's lower leagues.

  4. Davie Weir wasn't quick he relied on positional awareness to make up for his lack of pace and it's definitely something our centre backs can work on /improve as they get more used to playing together.

We desperately lack presence in the opposing box in the air.I would make a tall, physical striker and a strong, holding midfielder our top priorities in the next couple of transfer windows.

  5. Probably need to get a decent marketing dept in with good ideas to take us forward.

We have been lacking for years .

Lots of good positive fan stuff never getting out there.

And there is a lot that could be done to make it a better match day experience especially at half time.

I like the idea with RFC right across the centre of the pitch as we are on the tv a lot .

Some great ideas being discussed in here but I'm pretty sure sfa/spl rules don't allow anything in the way of advertising on the pitch itself mate.

If I'm wrong then I would be all for this too.

Does anyone know for sure one way or another?
