Guest
Last week saw us concede our first away goal of the season, and make no mistake, to get to just about Halloween with away clean sheets is one hell of an achievement. However, the goal that we conceded was a desperately poor one to lose, especially given the goalscorer's infamous miss for us against Valencia. Ricky Foster's speculative effort from 20 yards was straight down Allan McGregor's throat, but our number 1 flapped at the shot and watched it bounce over his hands and tamely into the net. It hasn't been his first gaffe this season, but we'll get to that later. The point is, for an undoubtedly top-class shotstopper, does McGregor make just one too many clangers? And if so, when will it cost us? We can all remember performances and saves that he has made that have won us matches and league titles - Werder Bremen away, last season's Samaras penalty save and the flying fingertip save at Parkhead in the 2010 New Year game to seal a point. What will stick in the memory of some people however, is the mistakes he made and the nervousness when such situations arise in future.View the full article
coplanddiehard 0
IMO McGregor is maybe just too comfortable at the minute. He knows it is highly unlikely that he will be dropped, and only injury will allow Alexander to take over. In the past few seasons, we have been able to rest McGregor in the League Cup etc. However we obviously can't do that this year! Most of his lapses have been to do with losing concentration. Hopefully the backroom team will have been working hard on this with him. He is a fantastic keeper, but maybe the odd boot up the arse will see him regain his focus

Never been great with crosses right enough. However he hasnt seemed the same this season he has been very up and down. His mistakes are the kind of mistakes we would be having a right good laugh at if it had been another team. Maybe he is lacking concentration due to his partners pregnancy and birth. I actually think we should think about giving him a rest and letting Alexander come in. Lets be honest if Alexander was at any other club in the league he would be number 1. Senna 735
I don't think Alexander exactly covered himself in glory against Falkirk. Not blaming him completely, but a little bit, yeah.
