Gomes, 27, is expected to sign a four-year contract, subject to a medical and obtaining a work permit. The Brazil goalkeeper was outstanding when PSV defeated Tottenham on penalties in a Uefa Cup tie in March. He had threatened to leave the Dutch club because of differences with the board, despite signing a contract until 2013 in December. “Gomes told me he wanted to grab this chance,†Jan Reker, the PSV general manager, said. “He wanted to move his career forward.†Gomes started his career at Cruzeiro in Brazil before moving to PSV four years ago, helping them to win four successive titles and reach the Champions League semi-finals three years ago.
