  1. I was hoping we'd start to see a Hererra - Morelos partnership take shape with Miller as (mostly unused) sub
  2. Hodson playing AND on the bench - now that's versatility
  3. Fuck. Well that's opened my eyes. Forty odd years saying I was a Bluenose and now it seems I never was. What the fuck have I been playin at all this time? I'd better go clean that oven...
  4. 1974 Dundee United at Ibrox 4–2 Jardine (2, 1 (pen.)), Parlane, McLean Cracking game as well. Seen plenty of class players in royal blue since then, but Sandy will always be my Rangers hero.
  5. The real test of a team is not how good the showboating is when they're four goals to the good - it's how they respond when they're down. Last season (with a few honourable exceptions) there wasn't enough grit, pride or skill in the team. We drew and lost games we should have been able to win and caved in against the bigger clubs when should have stayed strong. Too often the heads went down and stayed down. Early days, but I think this season we'll be a different prospect. Pedro has brought in better players who I believe will fight for every point. He has shown a willingness to change his tactics (even if we don't always agree with his substitutions) and has brought in players who want to play attractive football. Was Saturday a disaster? No. A setback. New players take time to settle. They have to adapt to the expectations we have of them when they're playing for Rangers - a lot of good players couldn't hack that pressure. Like the rest of you I want the good times back and I want them now. Unfortunately, it all takes time.
  6. You need balls of steel to manage Rangers - every bastard jumping on every mistake - and that's your own supporters.... Pedro looked inept to start with BUT he has cleared out a lot of MW's shite, bought well from leagues he knows and is starting to get better performances from players I thought might be duds. Never thought I'd see wee Windy Alice-Bandass looking like a half decent pro.
  7. Obviously I want a comfortable win to send out a message to every other team in the league... But I'd settle for a 1-0 from a soft penalty in the 93rd minute just to enjoy a Lennon meltdown.
  8. He's playing well right now, but I think over the course of this season we'll see less and less of Kenny. As Morelos settles in (he did well enough last night) he will be our first pick striker. Then Pedro has the option of Herrera beside him if we need to bully big centre halfs or kenny to pick out a pass or make the run behind. By the end of the season I'd hope to see Morelos & Hererra starting most games and kenny coming on late in the game to pick a way past tired defenders.
  9. That was special. They all looked hungry, they all wanted the ball. Pedro has them pressing and chasing like they mean it. Been a long time since I enjoyed a game that much.
  10. If I was Pedro I'd be playing my strongest fit 11 every game right now. This team have still got to gel and still got a lot to prove after the Europa fiasco. We're a better team than we were last season, but we're not world beaters - IMO whenever we underestimate opposition (oh we can rest players for this one) we're asking for trouble
  11. Will take any win. Hoping for a comfortable 3-0 with Herrera and Morelos getting on the scoresheet. A good team performance, clean sheet and some confidence boosting goals for our new strikers.
  12. I lived in Cyprus for a couple of years and went to a few games. The quality wasn't great, but it wasn't complete shit either. On their day Limassol could give us a tough game. The away leg will be played in very hot and humid conditions - thank fuck we'll have a team full of Mexicans and Portuguese by then.
  13. When my pals at school were running about being Colin Stein, I was Sandy Jardine. He was my sporting hero. He still is.
  14. I don't believe that Walter has 'had his time' but to those who say we need a change: who would you bring in? And don't just come back with the name of every top manager in Europe. Who do you think would come to the Scottish league and do a better job in Europe with SPL spending-power?
