  1. Bit off topic but has anyone mentioned it on Snyde ? I know there reaction would be to sweep it under carpet but look how many called up during the tax case fiasco

It was brought up a couple

Of months pre end of season.

There was a chorus of "we are not experts in state aid, so we can't discuss it". FFS that didn't stop them talking about tax affairs for 2yrs

  2. Investigating the Rebekah Brooks case is right up the London based Private Eyes street, im not so sure how keen they would be to investigate a football club from Glasgow. Anyway good luck to the OP for trying, but I think he's hitting his head against a brick wall with this. Its probably going to take something earth-shattering for people to actually investigate what goes on at Pokkhead.

The private eye reporter mentioned has already talked about it. Good chance he would be interested in a more complete follow up

  3. The problem we have is that because of what happened to us and the situation we find ourselves in people will think its just somekind of bitter attempt to get some revenge on the tarriers. If everything had been going along swimmingly and we were winning titles ect like back in the good old days and we had raised the issue of "state aid" at that point, then people would have listened. Unfortuantely now it looks like we are seeking some kind of payback and retribution due of the indignity of liquidation and of the embarrassment of witnessing a prestigious club like Rangers playing in the Third Division.

We know this is not the case, but for the outsider looking in, its all too easy for them to write it off as nothing but bitterness and jealousy.

This is exactly what's happening. I ask the question "If it is found that celtic have received state aid against EU rules who will you blame, Rangers fans or the current custodians of your club?"

  4. I have just been emailed by Nick

    Hi

Thanks for your message. I see your point, but I’m afraid I’m no good to you, just because I’m already up to my neck in other stuff. But I’ve forwarded your message to tim.minogue@private-eye.co.uk who investigates local authorities for Private Eye (He writes the Rotten Boroughs column). I can’t speak for him, but I hope he may be able to pursue it.

    Good luck

    Nick

I would like to think this other guy can get some wheels turning.

I'm sure the private eye chap has written an article about it before. A few months ago

  5. Also

I saw john mason willing to discuss the subject of London rd school last night with pzj and others. It turned in to a bit of a farce with off topic points being added in and then people rounding on him.

Surely if we have the opportunity to have dialogue with an mp/msp willing to discuss these matters we should treat him with respect and at least try to foster a working relationship that could get this highlighted higher up.

He seemed willing to do this at one point and I suggested pzj sending him all the info but then the slagging started. I don't really think this kind of attitude helps.

  6. While the case is being looked at, a preliminary investigation, I would highly doubt that any journalist or media outlet will print anything other than just to mention that it is on going.

Once the findings are made public we should see all the journalists coming out with stories

I may be wrong but that's my thinking.

  7. NOT FOR ME HE SUPPORT S PARTY THAT WANTS OOR CLUB DEAD

    The Labour Party?

That's the only one in Scotland that you can point that finger at.

Race, Religion and politics should not come in to this. His view as a Rangers fan is all that counts.

And at least he has stepped up and tried to help in a positive way.

  8. Apparently this appeared on a BBC sketch as part of a meeting in the City Chambers discussing the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.

Is it a typical dig from one of them?

Or, could it be one of us having a go a Glasgow City Council bias?

    2laattx.jpg

    jp8o77.jpg

Do we know of any bias among those on the credits for it?

I don't want to jump the gun on this one, as it's potentially ambiguous. Any thoughts?

    It was a comedy sketch!!!

However, I think the person who made that up must be a bear. Who would argue that some in gcc would really want this to happen.

  9. No quotes or anything mate. One newspaper running with the story.

I asked the question, of those in the know, and as of 2 weeks ago CN was still really up for the job and looking forward to coming back to Glasgow. Nothing new to suggest otherwise.

Will have to wait and see

  10. Sadly it's a missed opportunity as he hasn't got the capability. I dare to say even MD would have been 1000 times better.

no he wouldn't, neither would chris grahame. Chris had the opportunity the nought of the LNS enquiry to call out Alex Thompson for referring to Lord Nimmo Smith as William Nimmo Smith and he bottled it. That could have been the start of highlighting the bigoted agenda of some NUJ card holders against Rangers.

  11. The administrators will have the full £24 million. LBG got their full £18 million from Ticketus.

Ticketus will join the other creditors for a share of what's left after the various groups involved in admin and whatever else get their payment.

I expect about 50p to be shared amongst everybody given the way the meter has been running for the past couple of years.

arent tickets going after CW for that money? how does that work in relation to BDO?

  12. Slightly off topic here but seeing as your in such a mood to defend McCoist do you think you could finally get round to posting a response to this...

    "You want arguments? Ok.

    In the league:

In season 1 he blew a 15 point lead in the space of two months, dropping points against the likes of Hibs, Kilmarnock, St Mirren(x2), Aberdeen and celtic. We started well but that was with a team who had won the double the previous season, as soon as he put his stamp on the team we started regressing massively. Administration and off field issues covered up what was a poor campaign.

Season 2. He dropped points against Annan(x2), Peterhead(x2), Berwick, Stirling Albion(3!), Elgin and Montrose(x2) That is absolutely disgraceful with the squad he had at his disposal. This is without blooding youngsters.

Season 3. He went undefeated playing atrocious football. So what? Look at the opposition.

    In the cups:

    Season 1

Fucked out the Champions League by Malmo

Fucked out the Europa League by Maribor

Humiliated in the League cup by Falkirk

Embarrassed by Dundee Utd in the Scottish Cup

    Season 2

Humiliated by QOTS in the Ramsdens

Humiliated by Dundee Utd in the Scottish Cup

Humiliated by Inverness in the League Cup

    Season 3

Humiliated by Raith in the Ramsdens

Humiliated by Forfar in the League Cup

Fucked out by Dundee Utd in the Scottish Cup. AGAIN.

    Sandaza F

    Cribari F

    Kyle F

    Faure F

    Brand of football:

Turgid, unattractive, hard to watch, route one, pathetic.

    Developing youngsters:

In his three years he's only regularly played Aird and Macleod. Aird is average at best and he's ruining Macleod by playing him out of position.

    Overall:

He's made the same mistakes time and again and has shown no signs of improving. He's a dud.

Now after reading that can you give me some reasons why he should stay?"

I think you've avoided it long enough.

You've posted this from an already established negative opinion rather than trying to be neutral. There are so many holes in it that it would be pointless debating as it is clear you would never move your position.

  13. Having a wee look at our players twitters there and noticed that some scumbag IRA loving tim who looks about 16 is threatening temps and saying he's gonna turn up at Murray Park and knock him about hahaha.

Seriously, why do people act hard over twitter? Cringeworthy bastards.

And then Jon Daly walks out... Now that would be funny!

  14. Said over an hour ago he was away for a sleep cos shattered after a bleep test. That would mean about 230pm he tweeted but probably 2pm the session ended. Training starts about 10ish say. So 4 hours of work but then you have lunch and some jokes. Probably 2 hours of training.

Players not staying back to practice taking corners or free kicks. Can we get it past the first man or do we have a good free kick taker? Not yet but its ok lets go home and sleep getting paid a few grand for 15 hours a week

Don't worry. Double sessions from tomorrow according to the sports scientist at auchenhowie. Today was only fitness assessment.

  15. Anyone else heard that Ian Black is going to be our new captain? Seems jig is not going to play much this season if he stays and given Black was Hearts captain he is going to be the same with us. Not sure he is the man for the job but then again it May be what he needs to pull his finger out of his arse

This will be a good shout if it happens.
