There are certain races which at this stage are are a bit risky to bet on, especially the 3 novice hurdles (the Supreme, Ballymore, and Albert Bartlett) because trainers might not yet have decided which one to go for. The Champion Bumper is also a bit of a lottery. And in the handicaps there's not much point betting on a horse unless you know it will definitely get in the race. But there are 28 races in all, so there are still plenty of opportunities to have an ante post bet.

I assumed that QPR would be happy to let Beale go because they would get compensation from Rangers. Add that to the £3.5 million or whatever that Gio is getting, and this change of manager is becoming very expensive.

I wouldn't worry about Gio not being animated enough during the game. Some managers are more animated than others - it doesn't necessarily mean they are better. I am old enough to remember when managers sat in the dugout for the whole game, and seldom, if ever, stood up.

I did see it. It should be taken with a pinch of salt. We can only guess what might have happened if Gerrard and co had stayed.

Unfortunately the lack of hunger among top footballers is not confined to Rangers. With a few notable exceptions none of them play for the jersey anymore. They still get paid win or lose. It's unfair to single out Tav. He tries as hard as anyone, and his record for scoring and assists is remarkable.
