  1. Aluko does over do it a little bit, we have seen that in every game he has played for us so far but he has produced the good already. Some of his runs were fantastic today, he was a breathe of fresh air. If we had Sone on one wing and Vlad on the other along with a striker willing to pull the finger out, we would be laughing. For the mean time though, aluko will do just fine!

In every both of them? :pipe:

  2. I've not seen last night's game so can't comment on that but surely the boy needs a run in the team. Give him 5/6 games playing behind Jela and see how he fares. If he doesn't do the business then get rid.

I can't help but feel we could be looking at another Charlie Adam scenario if we offload him now without giving him a decent run.

  3. By himself? The faithful throo and throo were expecting a brace every game!

Probably a bit harsh to say shite

He did get to double figures in half a season though but he's still a wrist kissing cunt and it wouldn't bother me one bit if he signed for another 6 months!

Without his goals they'd prolly have been 3rd or 4th.

I don't think they could afford him now though. Unless lord Dermott reached into his own personal biscuit tin again. But RoY Keane and Robbie Keane worked out well for him in the past didn't they?

  4. People do make England out to be better than we are but more people make out that we are worse than we are tbh.

    Hart

    Terry

    Cole

    Wilshere

    Lampard

    Gerrard

    Rooney

They are all world class players. I'd even add in some of the younger players like Young, Johnson and Welbeck. Maybe not "walk into the Spain squad" quality but certainly good enough to give the best of teams a run for their money.

Hart - an excellent shot stopper but prone to the odd error. Wouldn't rate him above Shagger.

Terry - past it. Too slow and certainly not the defender he is made out to be. Don't think he's ever been in the same vicinity as "world class"

Cole - underrated defensively IMO. A good solid left back, great going forward which possibly makes people underrate his defensive abilities. TBH I would struggle to think of a better left back as much as I don't like him as a person - "Arsenal's wage offer was an insult" not because he cheated on that fud Cheryl.

Wilshere - very promising but likely to be ruined by the English media who will villify him as soon as he doesn't win them Euro 2012.

Lampard - Again has seen better days but can still be a big player on his day. Having said that has never really proven to be "world class" in the world stage.

Gerrard - I think he has suffered from the England mentailty of "lets shove all the best players into the same starting 11 whether they fit or not" theory. Has been shoehorned into left mid, right mid etc by England managers just to get him in the team. A good manager picks players to fit a system not the other way around.

Rooney - Awesome on his day but unless he's getting enough granny pussy or just isn't in the mood (see World Cup 06) then he's just not up to it. Another "world class" player yet to prove it on the world stage.

  5. True, can't argue there, but would only b till April, or end of end of the season, and depending on what clubs, they could b looking for a proven striker to help out with injuries, or the push for Europe, stay in Europe, or even lower level teams, to try and avoid relegation.

This of course may not happen, but I assume he will not sit on his ass till either the start of the new mls season or start of euro 2012. Just my opinion folks.

For what it's worth I would love for him to come back to the vermin and finish as a runner up again. Didn't he fail to score against us last time he puuuure came an wun em tha leeeeg??? lol

And if there's an area of their team that those twats need to strengthen it's their defence, not their attack.

  6. Rangers fans in sectarian singing ... what a disgrace.

Celtic fans in "illicit" singing ... a business opportunity.

Seriously what the fuck is going on up there???????????

SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster believes recent controversies may help the league attract a new sponsor.

The Clydesdale Bank will end its sponsorship in 2013, while "illicit chanting" and late payment of player wages have created negative headlines.

However, Doncaster told BBC Scotland it "creates a real opportunity" for companies to "maximise exposure for their brands".

The SPL has begun searching for a new sponsor, he added.

The Clydesdale Bank, which has sponsored Scotland's top flight since 2007, will end its association at the end of next season.

"The SPL has consistently demonstrated that it provides terrific value to its sponsors. I am sure that success will be important in the work we now undertake," Doncaster said.

The previous sponsor, Bank of Scotland, ended a nine-year deal in 2007 to concentrate on investment of grassroots football, and Clydesdale's deal was extended in 2010.

I think there's clearly a very high level of exposure that the league gets from those sorts of issues

    SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster

The current deal is worth £8m to the SPL, which helps support community football activities across its 12 member clubs and is supplemented by media rights income.

Celtic being the subject of Uefa and SPL inquiries into chanting at the recent games against Rennes and Hibs, and Hearts players once again not receiving their wages on time, are among a number of concerning issues for the top flight.

However, Doncaster said: "I think that a number of those issues have arisen over the last couple of years and that corresponds to a time when interest in the SPL - and the number of viewers we're getting watching our games on television - is going up and up.

"So, I think there's clearly a very high level of exposure that the league gets from those sorts of issues and that clearly creates a real opportunity for any companies coming in who want to maximise the exposure for their brands."

Doncaster added: "Work also now begins on seeking a new title sponsor for the foremost sporting competition in Scotland from season 2013/14."

The SPL now has 18 months in which to find a new sponsorship deal.

  7. I honestly dont think most of them think its funny what the ira done. The hardcore rebels do, but not the majority. Imo anyway, i think they just sing their songs because they know it annoys us. Same as i think most of us sing our songs because it annoys them. How many other clubs sing GSTQ on a regular basis? I think we're the only UK club that do. Why do we do it? Its a get it up ye to them. Thats my opinion on it anyway.

So what came first? The chicken or the egg?
