  1. Have to wonder if Lennon got multiple reds. His confrontaton with the ref 2 mins after he had been red-carded would certainly have merited another red.
  2. absolute disgrace Lennon cmpletely threw himself to win the penalty, complete and utter dive. Falkirk players confronted him angrily, he raised his handes and shooved to Falkirk players in the chest. Then there was a rammy, lots of pushng and shoving. Strachan runs onto the pitch to get involved. Lennon got the straight red then after the rammy he was back in the referees face yelling at him. No idea why Stokes got sent off, maybe dissent, though to be fair he only got a yellow for that incident.
  3. I know them all but cant pm you from work you got an email addy?
  4. totally agree - if the club had co-operated with the investigation then perhaps only 3 members would have ben banned but they chose as a club to close ranks to protect the three who were at the game under those circumstances Rangers had no choice - what they did was right and I back them 100% in that decision
  5. I think Maloney is a fine player and will do well for you guys if you can keep him. mcGeady is to me a little like Burke, shows great promise but lacks a consistant end product to elevate himself into Maloneys class for now - early days though
  6. GG - i was joking you know? I know that it is one thing having a string of talented youngsters but another thing developing them from around 18 years old to the point where they are 1st team regulars. quite frankly, right now, from Scotland U16s to 21s, Rangers have roughly 15-20 youngsters in or around the national squads if 2 of those become great players, I will be chuffed - if 2 or 3 more become good squad players, then it will be a really successful era
  7. All I can say is that if Football Manager is right, the next decade is going to be fantastic for Rangers as all our young studs come through. In fact, if it is right, these youngsters will win the Champions League 3 times in the next 5 years.............
  8. Da Man - I agree, the 3-3 game was a great one. And the 4-2 was just a killer. When you were down to 10 men the title was in the bag, then we choked it away!
  9. Thats a toughie - Rangers have produced mcGregor, Graeme Smith, Burke, Hutton, lowing, Smith, Adam, Beattie, amongst others Celtic have Maloney, mcGeady, marshall, erm, Wallace and some others who have flattered to deceive somewhat or are injured long term i.e kennedy Celtic have the best player from there in Maloney, mcGeady and burke kinda cancel - Rangers have the 2 best goalies in there, plus three other starters and a Scottish international (Beattie) on Celtics books. Plus, we have in John Fleck, the most promising youngster in Scotland right now. Now, I have no idea what Celtic have beneath their first team in the way of promising talent. Quite frankly, every team thinks their youth is the next big thing but the only way we can compare is from how many have broken into the first team. But you are right, it is close. I would hope as a Rangers fan that Murray park would be beginning to reap benefits in the coming years as more and more young players graduate from there with a full terms use of the place. Who knows though, this is football so there are no guarantees.
  10. So that was the era when IMO the Old Firm games were at their best. incidentally, I thik I am right in saying that was when Sky started to broadcast all the Old Firm games live on the box, as they kept hearing about these amazing games that we used to have
  11. Yeah Cadette did fantastic for you guys, as did PVH and PDC. However as good as those players were, there was just something else about Thoms game that gave me kittens whenever you guys played us. All of those 4 were good players though. unfortunately, three of those players were a bit iffy on the temperament side. it ook Larsson coming along to show you that you could win with a player both on and off the field
  12. Well, I dont know if he thought about the attacking side too much. I always saw it that he only had a limited budget and was fixing the team one step at a time, from the front to the back. I am sure that if you gave him 2 more years he would have brought in more quality players to plug the back lines.
  13. agreed he was a great wee player. used to scare the living poop outa me when he had the ball. More so than the other stars you had back then Tommy got criticised for forgetting the defensive side of things but he made great strides with that team and I think it was a shame that he didnt get the chance to finish the job that he started
  14. but when you thik what Celtic had immediately before Burns, you have to admit that things were improving by leaps and bounds. And you also have to remember that Rangers at that time had a very good and settled side. Still, Celtic were outplaying them on a regular basis and I was sure that if Celtic had stuck by Burns then those 1-0 close things would have turned into wins before too long. Those sides were only an Artur Boric away from being very good. Everyone mentions PVH or JC but I thought you guys played your best when Thom was on his games. A smashing player. In fact, if you gave me the choice of Moravcik or Thom i'd take Thom every time
  15. Did Tommy Burns quit? or was he pushed. Lets face it, he was pushed. Unfairly in my opinion. he put together a very attractive side to watch
  16. begging your pardon Daniel, just went over the thread again and I saw you posted one such post earlier.
  17. yeah, shocking! LOL Actually, I despair when i see fans so blinded that they are unable to give credit to the other side. I will say though that in my experience that is a trait that is more prevalent on the Celtic side than ours. This thread is a good example, most Gers posters have given examples of old Firm games that their side didnt win that they enjoyed the game. However, we have yet to receive one such example from the Celtic side. But I agree, it is sad when the blinkers are on full stop
  18. i thought the best games were the ones when Tommy Burns was Celtics manager. i actually thought that side was a joy to watch and we struggled to contain them time after time. IMO you turfed Tommy too soon. Those games were the best ones to watch as far as I am concerned. Then going back further to the games in the mid 80s. I remember one wthat I thik finished 3-3 but it was 3-2 to us after 20 mins. Just crazy.
  19. so, there wasnt even a drawn game that you found enjoyable to watch? That is sad but not entirely unpredictable that you would be blinkered so
  20. again, avoiding the question because it doesnt suit your agenda classy response. So you have no favorite old Firm game where your team didnt win? Then why post at all?
  21. Danny, you picked a couple of instances where Buffel excelled and i agree with you on those. However, if you were to go on adding to that list, how far would it go? That is the problem with buffel, for a man of his undoubted ability, those instances are few and far between The only way I would keep him is if we went to a system (mayeb 3 at the back) that asked for a midfielder to sit in the hole behind a front 2. I think he could do a fantastic job in that role but unfortunately I cannot see Rangers adopting that type of formation anytime soon. Thus, I would accept any half decent offer that comes in
  22. Dont know about that, I was reading the initial post as asking of you could bring in ex-Gers players to help out, who would it be? Thus, my answer was given Having said that, I wanted Terry Butcher to be our manager this season and as much as I am behind PLG, I think Tel would have done a better job this season
  23. Minstral - exactly my point. We are not making policy, we aremerely speculating. If we cant do that, then there will be nothing to post about
  24. Good skills, decent ability, suited the 4-2-3-1 formation Bad consistency, drifts in and out of games, brushed off the ball far too easily and does not suit the 4-4-2 formation whatsoever, which now appears to be our best bet going forward In short, if we get a bid of a million for him, take it and move on
  25. Likewise, why do you assume that an because a coach is an ex-player, then he wont be a great coach? it is just hypothetical anyway, we know that is is not going to happen, but what is the harm in speculating?
