what is the difference between a netbook and a laptop?

Not at all, this particular laptop though, as it is designed to be compact consists of about 3 part; hard drive, lcd and motherboard, so if troubleshooting on a call for is a problem these laptops are easy as hell, you wouldn't be on the phone for long, If you buy a dell I am always on if you need any help and I can take a look at your system. currently collect and return warranties are being given onsite repair upgrades, so all you would need to get an engineer out to you is to prove a hardware problem. if you tell them that you swapped the hard drive then job done. At the end of the day tech support for all major PC companies tend to be from india. and the guy you spoke to at dell support will probably be at hp the next due to the turn over of staff in bangalor, the call centres continually undercut each other and steal staff from each other. I live in germany so a collect and return is not possible for me, i would prefer to be able to take my laptop into a shop and have it fixed, I can still do this with PC's bought form UK shops as i am a regular visitor to the UK. I admire your commitment and loyalty to Dell though if only all customer service people were like you.

sorry should have mentioned that i hate Dell their customer support is useless, I have had 2 and my desktop is a dell but it is sitting dormant because i cant get it connected to the internet for some reason although it has great spec. the dell support is top class, best in the business, but home users unfortunately go to india which is the same as any where else. I work in dell support.. I am home user and I do have to call India, Glasgow may be great but that is no good to me i'm afraid as i will still need to call abroad, which is why my desktop PC (which cost me over a grand) is sitting collecting dust. I do not have that kind of money to spend on a dust collector. I don't mean to sound rude but my experiences with dell have not been good.

Hi folks, my daughter (11) wants a laptop from Santa, easily pleased eh. I have been looking at some and TBH i have no idea what to get her. she will be going to high school in the summer so something that will help her with whatever you do at high school these days, also because we live abroad she uses MSN and sometimes skype so webcam and built in microphone are essential along with wireless internet. the size of screen does not matter ( well don't think it does ). the price however does matter I do not want to spend too much but i am not daft and realise that you get what you pay for. please can someone help me out with this as time is running out.

Yep. it's ridiculously easy. You'll have to first drag and drop a load of firmware files you'll download from your card manufacturers website as well (it'll come with a cd as well, but it'll be out of date) but it's ridiculously cheap, easy, and it'll work with any game you want quality will be ordering me this, I will be back in touch if i fail to get it working or if i do to thank you. hmm seems like i have bought a dud R4 card !!!!!

where from ? If your from Glasgow Gametex at the Barras sat and sun or the shop a Finniston across from Pc World say i sent you might get discount. Unfortunately I live in Germany so popping into the Barra's could be an issue for me, although I could bring the console back to the UK next time I am on leave, I take it can get this done any backstreet PC shop/stall.

Hi folks Just bought my wee boy a 360 for his Xmas got a 60gb system with 2 games for 120 quid Brand new it is however an american system. I know there are alot of games that are region free but does anyone know where i can buy region 1 games without having to actually have to go to USA. Thanks folks.

I know i am going to get slated for this BUT................. How is The Flower of Scotland Racist? put that in mind when we sing The Sash, A song about something that is worn to remember a battle and honour those who died in it. A Fathers Advice, a song about taking up arms to fight for freedom. The Famine song, well this song has several personel attacks on individuals, I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but we have no right slating songs like the Flower of Scotland when some of the words in the songs we sing are about the same same type of thing.

If this is true then it is awesome. our Armed forces service men and woman do not get anywhere near enough recognition by the British public. This is great news that Our club that is doing it 1st hopefully it will catch on and happen on a regular basis at clubs throughout The country. :unionflag:

he has Lego Star wars for his PS2 and loves it and i see you can get Batman, Indian jones , lego racers etc, these are the 1st games he will be getting.

cant do that here I live in Germany find it hard enough to rent a DVD never mind a games console. decided on the 360 any way as it's cheaper.

Okay thanks for all the responses on this but seeing as no-one can agree what is the best console i am going for A XBOX 360 purely because it is £100 cheaper, I am sure my boy will love whatever console i bought him so he's getting the cheaper version.
