  1. See above... Trying to find out more as we speak... LOL :-)
  2. What about the Shanghai Superstars or whatever they were called? The only thing to come out of them was a nice orange strip ;-) Shanghai Shenhua... Both ventures didn't work out very well. Makes me doubt this motorsport one as well. Frankie - if anyone will know on here it would be you.... What financial investment have we made to this motorsport lark?
  3. Not all directors work for the club. Those that do get paid a wage - as Bain et al do. Most of our directors own very few shares in the grand scheme of things when you consider MIH's 91.8% holding. Murray, IIRC, does not take a wage or a dividend from the club (last dividend was paid out in the 1980s I think). Share Dividends and Dividends are two totally separate entities. I don't know the ins and outs of the director dividends and who gets what at Rangers. But I just know that it would be extremely unusual for Directors NOT to be paid yearly dividends (NOT SHARE DIVIDENDS) relating to the success of the finances.

  5. I'm not sure we do actually... Directors are just like any other shareholder - some of whom who don't actually have very many shares - they can sell their shares for profit/loss but they don't receive dividends. Frankie.. forget shares. Shares don't come into these kind of dividends. Dividends in this case are payments used to lessen the amount of tax paid. All Directors usually take a very minimal wage from the business and take a huge dividend at year end which is cheaper on tax. IIRC, none of our directors take a wage from the club in the manner you describe - including Murray. Obviously guys like Martin Bain and Donald McIntyre who work for Rangers FC do but others such as Dave King and Murray don't. I may be wrong so I'll defer to your better financial knowledge - I'm no expert in that field! Well if the directors all work for nothing then that's amazing. If they all put in money to the club and not expect anything back then that is philanthropy at its best. I think you'll find that all the Directors will take a dividend at year end even if they don't take a "wage" as we know it to be out during the year. Not only would it be their "salary" per se but it would reduce the tax cost payable by the club if we were ever to make a profit.

  7. I was raging at the £9 price hike for the Q/F. If you want to reward ALL fans (As stated in the announcement) then why not make the game a freebie? Or at least make it CHEAPER than other rounds? Or at least not INCREASE the price? Now we have seen the reason for increasing the home leg tickets - to offset the cost of buying all the away tickets and to line his own pockets.
  8. We do not have share dividends - unlike Celtic... No, but we have director dividends like any other company ;-) Thought you would have known that, Frankie.
  9. Thanks mate. I started reading the opening Chairmans statement and realised what a poor Chairman Murray actually is. Here is what he hits us with in 2001: "I am confident that we are in good shape, on and off the park, meet the challenges of the future and to ensure the continuous success of the Club" Really Muzza? Quite the financial forecaster! I need to sleep that shock off. True. Even when the financial position was looking dire and it was raised at an AGM the shareholders were reassured that everything was OK. It then proceeded to get worse....much worse. His financial mismanagement was astonishing and that's why this talk of a big warchest for Walter and a massive stadium redevelopment has me concerned. Can he be trusted from a financial persepective this time? No. That's my point.
  10. As much as I don't agree with the excessive price hike, Murray's pockets will not be lined. The cash goes to the club. Moreover, the reduction/freeze of season tickets means the club (or Murray by your logic) will 'lose' around £750K come renewal time. I share your cynicism regarding this 'free' ticket claim but let's keep a balance perspective on any criticism. The cash goes to the club and into Murrays pockets by way of dividend ;-)
  11. So you know that the £350,000 will go to Murray and not to the club? Edit: Frankie...will you stop doing that! Either to Murray or to help pay off debt that he created. It certainly will not go into the transfer kitty if that is what you are insinuating. Smith will be lucky to get the £9m we got for Hutton to spend in the summer despite all the moonbeams flying around.
  12. I don't agree with your points 1 and 2, but the point after that about the increase in price, and the fact that it is the home supporters that are paying for the away supporters tickets is the relevant one. Not only are the home fans paying for the away ones, they are also lining Murrays pockets with an extra £350,000 after he has paid the £50,000 for the away tickets.
  13. he will be like a new singing i was never overly impressed with him before his injury but lets hope he comes back a better player than before.
  14. Also, just because Rangers bought the official allocation it doesn't mean that's the only Bears who will travel. Thousands will be there without tickets and get into the ground. Spiers is just a prick who spouts nothing but inane drivel about our Club.
  15. All of the above minus Davie Weir. I think and hope he stays for one more year. We do need a center half to cover him for lesser SPL games but in Europe and against the Taigs he is second to none... slow or not slow.
  16. its just a shame that he could not come out and defend our fans woman and kids who were attacked by the spanish police. We made an official complaint to UEFA and Martin Bain made a statement criticising the spanish police for the treatment of our fans. What more of a defence do you want ? I think the minor fee we received indicated that the noises the club made in public and to UEFA in private were effective. You are to Murray, what Murray is to UEFA.

  19. Perhaps my views on the first generation supporter were outlandish. Just the ones I have met in the offline world have always been clueless glory hunters. You are of Irish Catholic decent? How do you squeeze through the strict anti Catholic policy Rangers have in place? Do you have to hide your identity? :beer2:
  20. If you look in the accounts of Rangers Football Club plc in 2001 you will see Murray Park being added to fixed assets. Will have a gander at them tomorrow if time allows. I'll need to stop all rubbish recycling in Central Scotland though as I am sure they went in the bin with all the other guff Murray sends me. or else you could look at them on the internet. It's really great, you know. Again... if time allows as already stated.
  21. Nah but they sold us the land for a quid
  22. The auld yin certainly aint a sporty man! Supporting rangers was entirely a choice of my own It wasn't a choice of your own... you were chosen

  24. ? ? Because they are normally the very people who shout about how great Murray is, how bad the sectarianism problem is and how we should all sit down and shut up during matches. Cant say ive ever shouted about how great Murray is or indeed shouted about how bad the sectarianism problem is. And i detest sitting at games. And you are a first generation Bear? My cap is well and truly doffed, Sir.
  25. Basically those who are Murrays target supporter then?
