  1. And this!!!! PlayStation Network return imminent? PlayStation Network could be restored within days, according to a report. Users at NeoGAF have said that an internal network intended for game developers can now be accessed by a number of people. Although certain features are said to be "shaky" and the ability to create new accounts is missing, for all intents and purposes the network is online. It has been suggested that online matchmaking will be the first feature to return, with a Sony source telling Eurogamer that it will be restored within a few days. Yesterday, it was reported that the number of PlayStation 3 systems being traded in has increased as a result of the prolonged downtime. Earlier this week, Sony said that it was unsure of an exact date for the return of PlayStation Network, but has suggested that all services will be fully operational by the end of the month. PlayStation Network, which currently supports 77 million users worldwide, went offline on the evening of Wednesday, April 20 as a result of hacker activity. It was confirmed the following Tuesday, April 26 that personal information was taken as a result of the breach. Sony has since recruited an external security firm to help create a more robust network infrastructure.
  2. PSN dev network back online Speculation that global console network could be back online shortly Reports are merging that the developer's version of PSN has this morning come back online. Eurogamer reports that the move could point to an imminent return for the main network. "The internal PSN developer network is online again, at least it seems for some, although things are still a bit shaky at the moment such as lack of new account sign up," a forum user stated. "Looks like the full network, at least the online play/account part of it, will be back soon." After missing previous deadlines Sony is now refusing to date a return for the network. PSN was downed on April 20th.

  5. From PSN forum... You couldn't make it up Dear Users of the AnonOps Network, We regret to inform you today that our network has been compromised by a former IRC-operator and fellow helper named "Ryan". He decided that he didn't like the leaderless command structure that AnonOps Network Admins use. So he organised a coup d'etat, with his "friends" at skidsr.us . Using the networks service bot "Zalgo" he scavenged the IP's and passwords of all the network servers (including the hub) and then systematically aimed denial of service attacks at them (which is why the network has been unstable for the past week). Unfortunately he has control of the domain names AnonOps.ru (and possibly AnonOps.net, we don't know at this stage) so we are unable to continue using them. We however still have control over AnonOps.in, and will continue to publish news there. We would STRONGLY ADVISE all users to STAY AWAY from AnonOps.net and AnonOps.ru, and they should be considered COMPROMISED. Using or connecting to any service on those addresses may put your computer, and by extension your person, at risk. We will continue to update you on this story, as well as on how we proceed with the future of Anonops. We are profoundly sorry for this drama, and we can't give you a an estimate on when service will resume normally. Alas, the IRC-network will probably remain down until we can sort this out. We will try to keep you up to date you via our official channel (anonops.in). Signed, The "Old" AnonOps netstaff. "****storm", "Nerdo","owen","blergh", and "Power2All" P.S: Further notices on AnonOps.net/ru will probably be posted to dispell this one, and any unavailablity of AnonOps.in will only prove this message is true. THIS IS NOT A JOKE, THIS ISN'T A LIE, THIS IS THE TRUTH AND WE ARE SORRY FOR THAT. P.P.S: The person behind this attack is also involved in the "new" Encyclopedia Dramatica (encyclopediadramatica.ch) . If you have previously signed up as a user with a legitimate email-address/password, you should take caution and consider that your account and password *might* be compromised. tl;dr: AnonOps.ru/net got hijacked by a rogue admin, and no longer has anything to do with AnonOps, this domain should NOT be used if you wish to connect to the legitimate AnonOps network. Please use anonops.in instead. Sorry!

  9. The release date for Modern Warfare 3 has been outed, according to a report. Several sources have told Eurogamer that the unconfirmed title will be available on Tuesday, November 8 worldwide. An internal database at supermarket chain Tesco has also referred to the title as Call of Duty: Project Collossus. Previous Call of Duty titles have been dated for early November, such as Modern Warfare 2 on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 and Black Ops on Tuesday, November 9, 2010. The game might be revealed later today as part of Activision Blizzard's quarterly financial announcement scheduled for 9.30pm GMT. Last week, it was hinted that Modern Warfare 3 would be revealed in a UK magazine next month. It has been previously rumoured that Modern Warfare 3 will be a prequel co-developed by Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. Was this the teaser?

  17. Service Restoration Update Posted on 7 May As you may know, we’ve begun the process of restoring the service through internal testing of the new system. We’re still working to confirm the security of the network infrastructure, as well as working with a variety of outside entities to confirm with them of the security of the system. Verifying the system security is vital for the process of restoration. Additional comprehensive system checks and testing are still required, and we must complete that process before bringing the systems online. As you’ve heard us say, our utmost priorities are the security of the network and ensuring your data is safe. We won’t restore the services until we can test the system’s strength in these respects. When we held the press conference in Japan last week, based on what we knew, we expected to have the services online within a week. We were unaware of the extent of the attack on Sony Online Entertainment servers, and we are taking this opportunity to conduct further testing of the incredibly complex system. We know many of you are wanting to play games online, chat with your friends and enjoy all of the services PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have to offer, and trust me when I say we’re doing everything we can to make it happen. We will update you with more information as soon as we have it. We apologize for the delay and inconvenience of this network outage. Same old shit
  18. Both Kazuo Hirai and Sir Howard Stringer have stated that we will be offering identity theft protection for those affected by the malicious attack on PlayStation Network and many of you may have seen the details of the service available in North America. As I have explained previously, creating a similar offering for the many countries within the SCEE region is a very complicated process. Each country has a different way of handling identity theft; some offer relatively sophisticated services whilst others are much more modest. We are currently in the process of identifying how we manage this situation and once the programme is ready to launch, we will provide details of exactly which services are available in each country and explain how to sign up. We hope to do this early next week. Also, look out for more information on the rest of our Welcome Back programme, including which free content you will be eligible for. We will be offering PSN users the opportunity to select two PS3 games from a list of five, as well as offering PSP users the opportunity to choose two games from a list of four. We will let you know exactly what games are available very soon. Please be assured that we are continuing to work around the clock to have some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services restored and will provide you with specific details shortly.
