I thought we started out in a 4-1-3-2 instead of a diamond in all honesty.

Pretty sure we started with the diamond with Kent on the point.  I thought it was pretty poor tbh and we were better when it changed to 4-1-3-2.  Even better when Davis went off frankly,  although I'll accept he hasn't  played much recently.

Didn't see it as 4-4-2 at any time OP

Why? We turned that amount down last year. And he is better now.

From China, wasn't it?  Did he even want to go there?

If an EPL team comes with a bid and Morelos is desperate to go it becomes harder to resist.  I'd like to think I'm wrong but I suspect we would accept something around the 10M mark.

Happy to be proved wrong.  Main thing is he stays till the end of the season - selling now would be madness

  3. Unfortunately, good old Adam Smith economics decides the value of things in a capitalist economy.  Deciding what something is worth on a sort of committee basis like a forum is Soviet style.  The value of Morelos is a balance between what the club will accept and what other clubs will offer.  Nobody is going to offer 20M if they think we will accept 10M.

...and I think we would accept 10M

Sutton is allowed to spout his conspiracy pish because BT and the BBC see Scottish football as a joke league that fills space. Imagine if you stuck MOTD on and there was Lee Dixon ranting about an FA conspiracy against Arsenal because a Man Utd player didn't get a ban. Would never happen. Sutton is a pantomime character and BT shouldn't pander to his pish. It's not a phone in this is our nstional coverage. Scottish fans deserve serious football coverage, proper analysis of the game, fair comment, half decent production values. We get the likes of Sutton and Stewart, 5 mins of highlights, piss poor panelists. Get the stars of Scottish football doing these things. Promote the game. I'd rather hear Numan, Ferguson, Larsson  etc. We seem to get the nobodies or the joke figures.

True, although Sutton spouts a lot of shit about English football as well.  BT and BBC like it because it creates controversy and that's what you want on phone ins.  Big difference is that he can make it sound tongue in cheek when talking about the EPL but can't hide his bias when it comes to us.

I find Stewart worse - ill informed, biased rubbish from a bitter no mark who achieved very little as a player

Aye I do, pity you don’t.

He never at anytime tried to hurt the keeper to get to the ball. It was a yellow card all day long, pity that too many of us fall for the media bias.

So now it's gone from "never in danger" to "never tried to hurt the keeper".  The lack of intent doesn't mean it's not a red.

Looks like Gerrard has also fallen for the media bias....

He was never in any danger of hurting the keeper, his studs weren’t up or high he made an effort to use his knees.

He was genuinely going for the ball.

I doubt it would be rescinded if we appealed either its us although I bet when the Ref looks back he will think he was maybe too quick with the Red. Strange that the Ref at the League Cup Final thought it was a yellow, he must post on here as well.

Nothing you have said means he was in control.  Good to hear that using your knees means you are never in danger of hurting the keeper.  Do you actually read what you post?

How was he out of control.

    Seriously?

Well he was sliding along the ground - he would come to a stop either by natural loss of momentum or by hitting something, which is what happened when hit the goalkeeper.  Neither of those alternatives were under his control.

Not a chance of getting it rescinded and at least Gerrard is more realistic than some of the posters here.

I don't think it was as bad as being made out tbh

If you watch it again the ball sort of bounces around his fingertips,i don't think he's 100% in control of it

If Arfield hadn't followed it in I would be disappointed

It was the fact that he slid in out of control  that got him the red.  It was dangerous.  If he'd been on his feet trying to nick it away that would have totally legit

Halliday should be LB for the Hearts game. Flanagan sprayed so many passes to Villareal players coming out of defence it was ridiculous.

Yes he can put in a tackle but his distribution is abysmal. If Barisic is a bit underdone it needs to be Halliday he can tackle and his passing is good.

    Credit where it's due.

And I thought he was much better than Flanagan

  10. Most encouraging thing yesterday was the cutback when Kent hit the bar.  Last season there is no way he would have done that in that position.

Looks like he is listening to the coaches and developing as a player.

Can't really understand some of the criticism

What the fuck does caps have to do with anything?  David Robertson is joint top with the best left backs in my life time with Numan.  Absolute brilliant player.  Btw, Jim Leighton would regularly get picked over Andy Goram in goals and let me tell you Goram was ten times the goalkeeper that fucking sheep shagging prick ever was.

What a lot of nonsense - Goram won 43 caps and joined Rangers the same year Leighton left Manchester Utd so their careers at the top level didn't overlap that much.  In any case, Goram was hardly unrecognised and was a first pick for Scotland at two major tournaments.

I get it - you rate Robertson highly whereas I think he wasn't as good as you think.  The fact that Numan won lots of caps for a far better international team tends to back me up, whereas all you appear to have is your opinion.  I was (as now) a season ticket holder for the entire time he was at Rangers so I saw him play many many times.  Not just on TV highlights

That's not exactly the point though, there was many times the ball was played into him and he lost possession. That's the difference between him and Morelos when it comes to holding the ball up. He's the focal point of the attack and in games such as Thursday when you need to keep possession he has to do much better, it's not a criticism for him missing chances or not scoring, it's solely about his hold up play which is very important in Europe. So the creating chances for him excuse doesn't wash in such a scenario.

In all honesty, I don't think Lafferty has ever been a back to goal striker.  He is effective with the ball played in front of him as we've seen in the last two games.  That finish today is typical - low into the corner from a ball played in front..

He is quicker than Morelos so will get goals on the break that Morelos won't score, but if we need hold up play it is going to be Morelos every time.

He wasn't my ideal choice tbh but he's clearly going to make a contribution so that's good enough for me.

Main concern is that we really only have two strikers and that's a bit short for a title campaign.

Could you imagine players like McKay & Windass with his passion, heart, and commitment?

Yes I can, because it's those types of players that make it to the very top.  Ability alone is never enough and the careers of those two will never amount to much.

What the fuck has that got to do with it

    It's for Rangers

Have you counted the medals won  for our club if you want to use this kind of argument ?

Numan was superb but having lived through both eras and seen them both

Robbo was had much more impact

Daft argument - it's a team game.  Pieter Huistra won 5 Championships compared to Laudrup's 3 but it doesn't make him a better player.

I also watched them both and eventually got fed up with the persistent habit Robertson had of advancing with the ball and then giving a hospital pass inside to one of our midfielders which got cut out.

Look it is all about opinion and you rate him highly.  I said I thought he was overrated and considering he played for six years for a team which was far better than any other in Scotland the fact he only got three caps does suggest that I wasn't the only one.
