  6. Rangers to beam UEFA final to fans at Ibrox May 4 2008 By Grace Macaskill Exclusive The Road To Manchester Uefa Cup Final May 14, 2008 Final Beamed Live On Giant Screens RANGERS will throw open the doors of Ibrox to fans locked out of the UEFA Cup final, the Sunday Mail can reveal. As unofficial ticket prices soared to £3500 on the internet, Ibrox bosses said they plan to avert a Manchester invasion with a free live beamback on their giant screens. They are desperate to persuade 100,000 ticketless fans to stay in Glasgow instead of heading south for next week's clash with Zenit St Petersburg. Manchester police have warned fans without tickets will not be welcomed. Club chairman Sir David Murray and chief executive Martin Bain hope the chance to watch the game in a near-full stadium will appeal to Gers supporters. Rangers have an allocation of 13,000 briefs from UEFA - but must cater for sponsors and corporate guests from that allowance. Tickets with a face value of £75 are already selling on ebay for up to £3500. Rangers have held talks with Glasgow City Council about holding events in George Square but there are fears the city centre cannot cope. An Ibrox source said: "Everyone is terrified at the prospect of 100,000 fans heading to Manchester. The police wouldn't want that, the council would not want it and the club would also be very concerned. "It would certainly increase the prospect of trouble for fans and would put the city of Manchester under incredible strain." Ibrox chiefs will begin talks about the beamback tomorrow. The club are looking at the possibility of jetting the trophy back to Ibrox by helicopter minutes after the final whistle if they win. Rangers chief executive Martin Bain said: "We will never be able to meet the demand for tickets, however those who have paid good money all season to go on the trips will be rewarded. "We will be looking to show the game on the Jumbotron screens and we will work with the council to make sure the city is a great environment to watch the game in." Iain Sinclair, of the Arthur Numan Loyal Rangers Supporters Club of Milngavie, said: "I think it is a great idea to open Ibrox up for the game but I don't think many fans will be left in Glasgow for it. "For the fans who can't make it, there isn't a better place to watch the final than in Ibrox." Some fans are angry that less than a third of the tickets will go to Rangers. Each of the 53 member countries of UEFA got tickets weeks ago - including tiny nations such as The Faroes and Andorra. Quote from Sunday Mail (sorry!!)
  7. Manchester Mentalists!! Walters Wanderers. The Defiant Defenders. but my favourite is The Quad Squad. Good yin Robbie.
  8. Fuckin right, do the Full Monty and bring them ALL home!!! Rangers have asked for the season to be extended to the end of July.... ....so we can win the Olympics, the Open and Wimbledon as well!!!! :unionflag: The SFA - The SPL - The Tims - The Manchester Polis - La Papa - Wee Chesney - UEFA fat cats........ FUCK THEM ALL....WE ARE THE PEOPLE!!!
  9. He looks like Gilly from Hollyoaks!!
  10. i think he looks more like the guy from the phones 4 u adverts but agree with everything else u said Haha, good observation mate!! Billy.......Yeah....Yeah....!!!
  11. lf we could match his wage demands i would take him in a minute, he is some player who has the type of aggression needed in our squad.
  12. l think he looks like quite a solid keeper who controls the defence well and commands the box with confidence, particularly at cross balls. He does a lot of shouting to support the defence. My only problem with him is tho.............HE LOOKS LIKE BEN STILLER!!! haha
  13. We are, indeed, THE PEOPLE!!!! :unionflag:
  14. These wee daego fucks are coming back into this here.....
  15. We could replace a few here, nae bother. Davis has been slash, Darchy's knackd but done well, thomson looks fucked, Broadfoot is a dufus, Papac is lost.......oh, heres wee Novo!! Great stuff, the wee man willl run at him. So long as we dont keep playing high balls in. McCulloch also looks a bit fucked but he's getting in amongst them.
  16. Let in 3 goals???? All that blessing himself must be doing him the world of good!!! Eh???? Holy Goalie!!! Well.......keep up the good work baw-bag-ric!!!!!! I hope he blesses himself 5 times at Ibrox on Saturday.....l wouldn't mind another destruction of the tims!!!! I hope the USA fans gave him absolute pelters!
  17. The return of Rino.......would make me a happy bear!!!
  18. I don't really care what their plans are.......at the end of the day, the BJK thing gets right under their skin, every single one of them, and they even tried to get the press to get us to stop it, saying it was bigoted........ehm, excuse me?!?!?!?! Personally, as childish and pathetic as some of you may find it, i will be flying the BJK flag and chanting the song til the coo's come hame!!! Oh Big Jock knew........... lol
  19. Aye, but it's playing for your country, which I'd still consider an honour. Every country has their fair share of arses - they just tend to shout a lot louder than the decent folk. Got to have a thick skin and keep hold of the bigger picture. I know wot your saying mate, but i dont see why our players should have to have a thick skin just to play for their country. Lemmon got abuse playing for Ulster, as the fans there didn't appreciate his club antics - he sacked it. Why should Barry and the other Bears take similar stick? I empathise, and it sets me in a red mist as well. Some of these so-called "supporters" should get the tackety boot up their bahookies. Thats for sure!!!! The Tartan Army are a joke and if they want to boo our players, then fine......they just better not rely on our 'h***' and 'traitors' when it comes to a game that means something to the fuckers!!! International fitba is pish anyway (in my opinion!)
  20. Ehm...or not have read it!!!!! :harhar:

  22. I think there's a good chance we'd be in the Rangers End lol!!!!! Only kidding - we will take over the whole fuckin city, and this time..............they CANT close down Manchester!!!!!!! Cannae wait!!!! Me and the boys bought Rangers/Man City polo-shirts for the Ricky Hatton v Mayweather fight (even tho we watched it in the hoose!!) - i think they will be in huge demand for the final - they are class!!!
  23. All joking aside............i hope its at LEAST a fracture in both knees and ankles, his wrists must be limp as it is anyway, for obvious reasons, and another non-trivial injury or two thrown in there would make my night. (saying that......with our track record of signing injured players - see Prodan, Rozenthal etc, that would probably make him even more appealing to the backroom staff!!!!!). Altho Walter is a stubborn big guy, i think he realises that the Bears REALLY dont want Miller, it just seems to be Super Ally who talks-up Miller at every given chance.
  24. haha......thats where the similarity ends ma man!!! l hope he breaks both legs, neck and skull tonight!! If only Dado was playing for Croatia, he'd do the damage we all want!!!
